Abstract

The use of learning models and approaches is important in the learning process. Physics learning needs to apply a learning model so that students can be actively involved in learning. Then they can construct their own knowledge that they learn through the investigation process. The guided inquiry model with the JAS approach is a learning model that can open up diverse thinking insights so that students can learn various concepts and how to relate them to natural phenomena. This study aims to determine the influence of the guided inquiry model with the JAS approach on learning outcomes and the learning environment on students' self-confidence in responding to learning. The method used in this research is experimental with the research design employed, namely, single group pretest-posttest (the one group, pretest-posttest design). The average score of learning outcomes using the guided inquiry model with the JAS approach (outside the classroom) was 74.14, and the average learning outcome using the guided inquiry model (inside the classroom) was 49.75. The results showed that the use of the JAS approach was very influential in understanding the concept of physics.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the concept and scientific process of the phenomenon of changes in air temperature and soil temperature in vegetation land, open land, and asphalt roads. This study uses a qualitative and quantitative approach. The exploratory research used by the research team is themodel Higher Orther Thinking Learning in Democratic Interactionwhich (HOTL-DI) Type A emphasizes interactive components, individualistic high-level learning processes and democratic interactions as a process of sharing and cooperation between individuals in groups. The first stage of object exploration (changes in air temperature and soil temperature in vegetation land, open land, and asphalt roads), concepts and scientific processes is carried out by the research team under the guidance of the thesis supervisor. The second stage is exploratory research on fourth semester students majoring in physics education for the 2021 academic year. The stage of exploring physics objects, concepts and processes in groups as democratic interactions. Democratic indicators, formulated by researchers based on the condition of group interaction when exploring objects and discussing in group report preparation. Students experience difficulties at the beginning of exploration activities because they lack experience in exploring physical concepts and processes about natural phenomena. Democratic behavior and exploration activities seem to be getting better over time, so this learning can realize learning activities to explore objects, concepts and science processes in democratic interaction learning well.

Abstract

Learning in nature is a real form of the educational process. Siau Tagulandang Archipelago Regency which is an area of salak plantation forest that is widely cultivated by the community, but this has an impact on the absence of learning activities, especially regarding physics in the area. So, to realize the process of learning activities in the area of salak plants, an expolarative research was carried out with the aim of identifying the ecosystem and the interactions that occurred and analyzing the effect of the frequency of rain on the infiltration rate. That infiltration is the flow of water into the soil through the soil surface. Infiltration (infiltration rate and capacity) is strongly influenced by various variables, including soil type, slope, density and type of vegetation, soil water content, and rainfall intensity. This research is an expolarative research that emphasizes how students can see the facts/phenomenon they see with the concept of physics. The rate of infiltration and the infiltration capacity of the soil decreases in direct proportion to the increase in the frequency of rain, the more the frequency of rain, the smaller the infiltration that occurs at the same level of rain intensity
