Abstract

According to 2018 World Health Organization data, the most common cancer incident in Indonesia is breast cancer, namely 58,256 cases or 16.7% of the total 348,809 cancer cases. Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the world at 13% after cardiovascular disease. It is estimated that by 2030 the incidence of cancer could reach 26 million people and 17 million of them will die from cancer, especially in poor and developing countries, the incidence will be faster. (Sari et al., 2020) The method used in this research is an analytical survey with a cross-sectional approach where data relating to independent variables or risks and dependent variables or impact variables, will be collected at the same time (Notoatmodjo, 2012). The data collection method in research uses primary data, where data is taken directly from the source, observed and recorded for the first time. Data testing was carried out using the chi-square statistical test with a confidence level of 95% and a significance level of 5%, meaning that the risk of making a wrong decision to reject the correct hypothesis is as much as 5%. knowledge of women of childbearing age regarding early detection of breast cancer (Awareness) in the UPTD Working Area of the Semulajadi Health Center in 2023. The results of the research showed that from 82 respondents, it was found that 38 people (46.3%) had poor knowledge and were not aware. Those who did so were 44 people (53.7%). Abstract

World Health Organization (2014), stunting is considered an irreversible growth disorder which is mostly influenced by inadequate nutritional intake and recurrent infections during the first 1000 days of life. Based on incidence, stunting is mild if the prevalence is between 20%-29%, it is said to be moderate if it is between 30%-39% and it is said to be severe if it is > ͢ 40%. The method used in this research is a quasi experiment. The design used is a one group pre test and post test design, which is a research design that is used by giving an initial test and a final test to a single group research sample. The research design is one group pre test and post test design. The sample in the research was total sampling, that is, all mothers who had babies aged 0-5 years were sampled, namely 42 mothers. The data collection method uses primary data collected through a questionnaire in the form of closed ended questions which are formed with multiple choices, namely by providing several answers/alternatives, and the respondent only chooses one of them that is in accordance with his opinion. Based on the results of bivariate analysis using the paired t test, the p value = 0.001 (p <0.05) with a confidence level of 95%. This p value statistically shows that there is an influence of Booklet Media on Increasing Mothers' Knowledge in Stunting Prevention in Selat Lancang Subdistrict in 2023. Conclusion: There is an Influence of Booklet Media on Increasing Maternal Knowledge in Stunting Prevention in Selat Lancang Subdistrict in 2023 with a total of 42 respondents. significant relationship with a p value of 0.001.

Abstract

Stunting emerges as a consequential nutritional challenge among toddlers, resulting from prolonged exposure to malnutrition. Rooted in familial caregiving practices, particularly feeding habits, this study delves into the nexus between feeding behaviors and the prevalence of stunting among impoverished families in Palembang. Employing a quantitative approach through a Cross Sectional Study, the research encompasses 110 mothers with children aged 24-59 months from economically disadvantaged backgrounds in Palembang. The findings underscore a noteworthy correlation between feeding habits and the incidence of toddler stunting, yielding a significant p-value of 0.000 and an Odds Ratio of 14.389. Noteworthy feeding practices influencing stunting include the administration of colostrum at birth (p-value = 0.020), diversified feeding (p-value = 0.000), nutritionally balanced meals (p-value = 0.003), maternal food preparation (p-value = 0.005), consistent snack provision (p-value = 0.002), age-appropriate portion adjustments (p-value = 0.042), offering food choices during boredom (p-value = 0.001), active feeding assistance (p-value = 0.001), maternal efforts to encourage eating (p-value = 0.000), and fostering an interest in eating (p-value = 0.007). Comparatively, non-stunted toddlers exhibit superior feeding habits when juxtaposed with their stunted counterparts within similar economic circumstances. This research illuminates the pivotal role of feeding practices in mitigating or exacerbating toddler stunting, thereby advocating for targeted interventions to enhance nutritional well-being in vulnerable populations.
