Abstract

This community service program aims to provide education and training in eco-enzyme production as an effort to improve household waste management capabilities in the Banjar Prajasari area. The phenomenon of organic waste accumulation and environmental pollution is due to low public awareness regarding waste management. One simple, environmentally friendly product produced through the fermentation of fruit and vegetable waste that can be used as a versatile solution is known as Eco-enzyme. The Eco-enzyme production training was conducted through three activities: the first involved educational activities on household waste management, the second involved a hands-on eco-enzyme production workshop, and the third involved a twenty-day fermentation mentoring process. Data collection included observation, pre- and post-program knowledge assessments, and participant interviews. The results of the education and training on eco-enzymes showed a significant increase in public understanding of waste sorting, organic waste utilization, and eco-enzyme processing techniques. The community demonstrated positive behavioral changes in an effort to reduce household waste and successfully independently produce eco-enzymes. The conclusion of this activity is that community empowerment through the implementation of sustainable waste management activities and practical, effective, and efficient participatory education can increase public awareness in managing waste in the household environment. Keywords: eco-enzymes, household waste management, environmental awareness

Abstract

Cooperatives play an important role in supporting the people’s economy; however, most cooperative management in Bali remains conventional and has not yet fully utilized digital media. The purpose of this community service activity was to enhance the capacity of the management and members of the Kami Jaya Sejahtera Savings and Loans Cooperative (KSP), Denpasar, in utilizing digital media. The method used in this activity involved digital literacy training and hands-on practice in creating promotional content using simple applications. The evaluation results showed a significant increase in participants’ knowledge and skills, from an average of 15% on the pre-test to 85% on the post-test, with an average improvement of 83%. Participants were able to understand the benefits of social media for promotion, create educational content, and independently operate financial-recording applications. In addition to producing promotional content and a standard operating procedure (SOP) for the cooperative’s social media management, this activity also encouraged the implementation of more transparent and accountable digital financial record-keeping.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to optimize the management of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) through the implementation of an integrated web-based information system in Singapadu Village. The primary problems identified include low administrative efficiency, limited financial transparency, and the suboptimal use of technology in managing village business activities. The method employed is a participatory approach based on capacity building, involving stages of needs assessment, system development, usability testing, and implementation through socialization, training, and mentoring. The results indicate that the developed system demonstrates a very high level of feasibility based on the USE Questionnaire, achieving an average score of 6.63 out of 7 and an overall feasibility rate of 94.8%. The Ease of Use dimension recorded the highest score, indicating that the system is user-friendly and easily adopted by BUMDes managers. Furthermore, the mentoring activities significantly improved users’ understanding and skills in managing business data digitally. The system implementation also contributed to increased operational efficiency, improved financial transparency, and enhanced real-time performance monitoring. However, the sustainability of system usage depends on institutional commitment and the consistency of users in integrating the system into daily governance practices. Therefore, this activity contributes to accelerating the digital transformation of BUMDes, promoting a more adaptive, transparent, and data-driven management model to support sustainable rural economic development.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to strengthen the implementation of an independent energy village through biogas development using an eco-localism approach in Marga Village, Tabanan Regency. The program was conducted in response to increasing household energy demands, dependence on fossil fuels, and environmental pollution caused by unmanaged cattle waste. The eco-localism approach emphasized the utilization of local resources, community participation, and sustainable environmental management to support renewable energy development at the village level. The methods applied in this program included Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), observation, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), socialization, technical training, mentoring, and direct implementation of biogas management from cattle manure. The results demonstrated that the program successfully increased community awareness and participation in renewable energy management. Community participation reached approximately 90% during training and implementation activities, while household dependence on LPG decreased by around 60% after utilizing biogas for cooking needs. In addition, bioslurry produced from the biogas process was utilized as organic fertilizer, reducing chemical fertilizer use by approximately 40%. The program also improved environmental sanitation by reducing livestock waste accumulation and unpleasant odors around cattle farms. Therefore, the eco-localism-based biogas program has strong potential to support sustainable village energy independence and environmentally friendly community empowerment in rural areas.

Abstract

The problem of organic waste is becoming an increasingly complex environmental issue, especially in rural areas that still use conventional management methods. This study aims to analyze the implementation of maggot cultivation as an organic waste management effort in the Real Work Lecture (KKN) program of the University of PGRI Mahadewa Indonesia in Singapadu Village, Banjar Bungsu. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that maggot cultivation (Black Soldier Fly/BSF larvae) can significantly reduce the volume of organic waste by utilizing household waste as the main feed. In addition, this program also increases public awareness of the importance of sorting-based waste management and encourages active community participation in protecting the environment. Another impact generated is the economic potential through the use of maggots as animal feed and a commodity with a market value.
