Perguruan tinggi seharusnya terpanggil untuk menjawab tantangan-tantangan di atas melalui pelaksanaan darma ketiga pengabdian pada masyarakat, dan panggilan tersebut sejauh ini sudah banyak dilakukan namun program-program yang betul-betul pokus pada sasaran masih perlu diperbaiki, terutama mengeksplor potensi ekonomi kreatif yan gsejak lama ada dan sedang tumbuh di masyarakat. Berdasar pada latarbelakang itulah seminar nasional dengan Tema “Peran Penelitian dalam Menunjang Percepatan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan di Indonesia” penting untuk dilakukan. Seminar ini diharapkan akan member motivasi dan inspirasi, terutama kepada pengabdi untuk melahirkan berbagai karya, produk dan konsep aplikatif, terutama terkait dengan produk berbasis akselerasi percepatan pembangunan nasional.

Abstract

Abstrak. Suku Bugis tolotang berada kecamatan Ampaita di kabupaten Sidrap, bentuk rumah suku Bugis Tolotang yang masih mempertahakan kepercayaan lama dan bugis tolotang yang telah memeluk kepercayaan baru atau islam memiliki perbedaan pada bentuk tiang dan perbedaan fungsi pada beberapa elemen rumah. perkembangan arsitektur modern tidak banyak mempengaruhi bentuk rumah dan perubahan fungsi pada kolong rumah sebagaimana rumah bugis pada umumnya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kwalitatif dengan menggunakan metode studi lapangan dan literatur yang memiliki keterkaitan dengan penelitian. Kata Kunci: Bugis Tolotang, Bentuk, dan Budaya

Abstract

Abstrak. Potensi verbal dan numerik adalah potensi dasar yang harus dimiliki oleh setiap siswa. Sejauh ini, belum ditemukan penelitian yang membahas tentang potensi verbal dan numerik secara spesifik di Kabupaten Wajo dengan menggunakan Psikotes. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) profil potensi verbal dan numerik siswa baru SMAN di Kabupaten Wajo. (2) Perbedaan signifikan antara potensi verbal dan numerik. (3) Gambaran kemampuan potensi akademik siswa apabila dipetakan berdasarkan daerah zonasi. (4) Gambaran potensi akademik siswa laki-laki dan perempuan dilihat dari kemampuan numerik dan verbalnya. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh Siswa SMAN Kabupaten Wajo dengan karakteristik tertentu, yakni duduk di bangku kelas X, tidak mempunyai gangguan kognitif, mampu membaca dan mengoperasionalkan matematika dasar. Dalam penelitian ini, sampel yang berhasil dikumpulkan oleh peneliti berjumlah 991 siswa yang berasal dari lima sekolah, yakni SMAN 2 Wajo, SMAN 6 Wajo, SMAN 7 Wajo, SMAN 11 Wajo, dan SMAN 13 Wajo. Pengumpulan data menggunakan psikotes dengan dua subtes, yakni tes potensi verbal dan potensi numerik. Data dianalisis dengan statistik deskriptif dan diolah menggunakan SPSS versi 21.0. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) potensi verbal siswa SMAN di Kabupaten Wajo tergolong baik yakni sekitar 77,4 %. Potensi numerik siswa SMAN di Kabupaten Wajo tergolong baik yakni berkisar 86,3 %. (2) Terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara potensi verbal dan numerik siswa SMAN di Kabupaten Wajo. (3) Potensi verbal dan numerik siswa SMAN di Kabupaten Wajo sudah baik ditinjau dari pemetaan zonasi tempat siswa bersekolah. (4) Tidak ada perbedaan signifikan potensi verbal dan numerik antara siswa SMAN laki-laki dan perempuan di Kabupaten Wajo. Kata Kunci: Potensi Verbal, Potensi Numerik, Psikotes

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the level of students critical thinking ability and the effectiveness of implementation MELS learning model on students Biologi Education Program in MIPA Faculty UNM. This research used One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The instrument in this research used essay test to measure 9 indicators critical thinking ability. Data collectiion using instrument test critical thinking for Pre Test and Post Test, observation sheets to observe of learning feasibility, observation sheet to observe students’ activity, and questionnaire of students response. The data analysis by descriptive statistical technique and inferential statistical. The result as follows: (1) pretest average of students critical thinking ability is 16.94 in the low category with standart deviation 5.13. Minimum value is 8 and maximum value is  37 from score ideal 72. As for posttest average of students critical thinking is 54.94 in the medium category with standart deviation 7.57. Minimum value is 20 and maximum value is 66 from ideal score 72. In addition, the increase of students critical thinking ability shown that the average score of normlized gain is 0.69 in high category. (2) the average score of learning feasiblity is 3.5, in well implemented category. (3) the average score of students activity is 3.5 in very good category. (4) the average score of response students toward MELS learning model is 3.2 with tends to positive response category.

Abstract

This is research and development that aims to find out the stages of developing the learning tools of the Walking Gallery method and to understand how this learning model can improve student competency validly, effectively, and practically. Research and development procedure was conducted using the 4 D model of the Thiagarajan model, Semmel and Semmel using four stages: the defining stage, the design stage, the development stage and the disseminate stage. The research subjects were Bachelor's degree students of the Department of Family Welfare Education who took part in Family Sociology lectures in the odd semester of the Academic Year 2017/2018. The research trial subjects were 25 students. This research data was processed and analyzed descriptively including data on the results of validation/review, learning management, student activities, data analysis on the results of mastery tests on family sociology concepts, implementation of lesson plans and questionnaire responses of students and lecturers on learning tools. Data processing and analysis were done with descriptive analysis. The results showed that the application of the Walking Gallery (WK) learning model was effective in increasing student competency. This can be seen from two aspects, namely the learning implementation which was observed by three observers and the results of the student creativity questionnaire assessment. The results showed that the implementation of the learning process using the Walking Gallery from the user (lecturer) side indicated that 90.91% was carried out very well while from the student side revealed that 86.11% implemented well. Moreover, based on the results of the student creativity questionnaire, it was found that the students were pleased with the effectiveness of the Walking Gallery method. It can be concluded that the student competencies categorized as good is 88.53% (high). Furthermore, it was found valid, effective, and practical learning tool products that can improve student competencies. Moreover, the learning tool was well appreciated by the lecturers of Family Sociology Courses. Learning tool products are lesson plans (RPP-WK), and textbooks for students majoring in Family Welfare Education.

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of the research is to find out: pedagogic competence, professional competence, personal competence, and social competence of public junior high school teachers in Polman Regency, West Sulawesi. This research is classified as a survey. The research location is Polman Regency, West Sulawesi Province. The determination of the sample schools was carried out by purposive random sampling method. Respondents of the research were certified junior high school teachers. The variables to be considered were: (1) pedagogic competence, (2) professional competence, (3) personal competence, (4) social competence of public junior high school teachers in Polman Regency, West Sulawesi. The analysis used is descriptive analysis. The results showed that: (1) the pedagogical competence of junior high school teachers in Polman Regency, West Sulawesi in the seven aspects studied was classified as high, (2) the professional competence of junior high school teachers in Polman Regency, West Sulawesi in five aspects was classified as high, (3) the personal competence of junior high school teachers in Polman Regency, West Sulawesi in the seven aspects studied are classified as very high, (4) the social competence of junior high school teachers in Polman Regency, West Sulawesi in the four aspects studied is classified as high. Keywords: Junior High School Teachers, Competence, Pedagogical, Professional, and Social.

Abstract

Abstract. This study focuses on the lecturers’ readiness in the English departments to apply online learning. The research objectives are to explore (1) the level of lecturers’ readiness of in the English departments to apply online learning based on their knowledge and skills; and (2) the lecturers’ needs in relation to their readiness in implementing online learning. This research uses descriptive quantitative method. The number of respondents who filled out the questionnaire was 121 consisting of 58 lecturers from state universities and 63 from private universities. They are spread over 48 public and private universities in Indonesia. The instrument used is a questionnaire with a Likert scale. The data collected through questionnaires were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that (1) the level of lecturers’ readiness is in the high category based on their level of knowledge and ICT skills; and (2) there are 3 main aspects needed, namely the need for ICT facilities, institutional support, and ICT training in learning.Keywords: readiness, online learning, ICT skills

Abstract

This research aims to explore the effectiveness of hypnolearning in learning English grammar and the students’ motivation during learning grammar. This study is an experimental research involving one class of Business English students by using dependent (paired) sample t-test.  The instrument used to collect data were tests of grammar and questionnaires for motivation data. Based on the research results, it was found that there was a significant differences between the mean of the students’ grammar knowledge before and after treatment that’s p-value 0,00 was smaller than significant level 0,05 (5%). This means that the hypnolearning was effective for the students for learning English grammar.  Besides, the students’ motivation in learning grammar during hypnolearning implementation was commonly strong. It may be caused by some factors namely lecturer’s personality, short story usage, visualization and refreshment.

Abstract

Abstrak. Physical education program in colleges must prepare students to be future physical education teachers who have knowledge of relevant technology integration, pedagogical skills, and discipline-specific knowledge in order to enhance students learning. The purpose of this study was to identify the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) competence of undergraduate physical education students. The research design used in this study is a survey. The research participants are 120 undergraduate students studying physical education in Makassar city. The participants were selected by purposive sampling technique. The data of students’ TPACK were collected by using TPACK questionnaire. The study results showed that students’ TPACK competence were high. The results of the study also revealed that there was no significant difference between male and female students even though the scores of female students were higher than the scores of male students. In addition, there was no significant difference between the scores of public and private university students. Kata Kunci: Technology; Physical Education; Undergraduate Student.

Abstract

Abstarct. The purpose of the study was to determine the application of the balanced scorecard method as an alternative tool for measuring institutional performance. The variables of this research are the Balanced Scorecard and the performance of the institution. The type of research used is qualitative research by describing the value of the balanced scorecard indicators quantitatively which is viewed from four perspectives, namely financial, customer, internal business processes and learning and growth perspectives. The population is all budget reports, and the level of performance achievement of the Lembaga Penjaminan Mutu Pendidikan (LPMP) in South Sulawesi and the sample is data on Realization Targets with Budget Efficiency Levels and Targets with Realized Performance Achievement Levels in 2018 and 2019. Based on the results of research and qualitative data analysis, it was obtained that the financial perspective, namely Target Realization and Budget efficiency levels in 2018 and 2019, had used the funds that had been budgeted for each activity efficiently, so that the financial perspective of LPMP in South Sulawesi achieved good results. Furthermore, the customer perspective shows that customers are satisfied with the services provided with an index achieved of 2,800 points in the interval of 2,556.8 to 3,158.4 points so that it can be categorized as satisfied. Furthermore, the perspective of internal business processes, which also shows that the performance of the institution has not achieved good results. This is evidenced by the Target and Realization of Performance Achievement Levels during 2018 and 2010. The next perspective is learning and growth which has two performance measurement tools, namely Employee Satisfaction which is categorized as quite satisfied and Learning index which is categorized as satisfied. This shows that the level of learning at the Lembaga Penjaminan Mutu Pendidikan (LPMP) in South Sulawesi has reached the expected standard. While quantitatively seen from the 4 (four) perspective the Balanced Scorecard can be said to be good because the Lembaga Penjaminan Mutu Pendidikan (LPMP) in South Sulawesi reaches 75% of the set standards or as many as 3 (three) of the 4 (four) indicators used in the Balanced method. scorecard. among others: 1) customer satisfaction, 2) budget efficiency and work efficiency, 3) employee satisfaction and 4) learning index. These results indicate that the overall performance of the institution is in the good category. So that the proposed hypothesis is declared "accepted".Keywords : Balanced Scorecard, and Institutional Performance.

Abstract

Abstrak. Reformasi dalam perguruan tinggi merupakan bagian dari sistem Pendidikan di Indonesia. Pola Pengelolaan Keuangan Badan Layanan Umum (PPK-BLU) hadir sebagai instansi di lingkungan pemerintah yang merupakan salah satu wujud reformasi pendidikan. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah mengetahui Kinerja Dewan Pengawas UNM dalam penyelenggaraan Badan Layanan umum. Pendekatan penelitian yang diguanakan adalah kualitatof. Metode pengumpulan data dengan cara tinjauan kepustakaan dilakukan pengumpulan dan menelaah literatur-literatur yang berhubungan dengan masalah yang dibahas untuk mendapatkan kejelasan dan dengan Penelitian lapangan. Melalui penelitian ini diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa agenda yang dikerjakan oleh Dewan Pengawas UNM telah mengalami perkembangan yang baik dalam proses pengawasan, rekomendasi dan pemberian treatment. Dewan pengawas memastikan kesesuaian dokumen dan kelengkapan, memantau dan mengawasi capaian program kerja terlaksana sesuai dengan target, memberikan rekomendasi dan treatment terkait permasalahan yang dihadapi pejabat pengelola Badan Layanan Umum. Kata Kunci: Kinerja, Dewan Pengawas, Badan Layanan Umum
