Abstract

Purpose of the study: This research aims to describe student motivation in learning physics about renewable energy materials. Methodology: This type of research uses descriptive research with the data used being quantitative. Data collection used a physics learning motivation questionnaire instrument for students. The sampling technique in this study used purposive sampling with a total sample in this study of 60 high school students. Data analysis used descriptive statistics assisted by SPSS. Main Findings: Based on the results of student motivation questionnaire data obtained from Jambi City 2 High School and Triam Udom Suksa School, there were 60 respondents, namely an average score of 73.80. Next, the middle value (median) is 73. Then the minimum value is 56. And the maximum value is 94. The implication of this research is that by using a comprehensive and nuanced approach, this research aims to explain the factors that influence student motivation in certain academic domains. This investigation examines various elements such as curriculum design, teaching methodology, and the relevance of renewable energy materials in the learning process. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this research is that the descriptive study pioneers exploration into the previously uncharted area of student learning motivation in physics, specifically focusing on the renewable energy materials domain. This research can be a means to improve physics teaching in the classroom

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This research aims to determine the effect of implementing the Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) approach on the formation of junior high school students' physics behavior. Methodology: This research is quantitative research with associative causal type. The total research sample was 69 students with a sampling technique using purposive sampling. The instruments used in this research were questionnaires and interviews. The data analysis techniques used in this research are descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Main Findings: Based on the results of statistical analysis using SPSS 21, it was found that there was an influence of the application of Contextual Teaching (CTL) on the formation of physics behavior in class VIII SMP students with an influence percentage of 42%. With the regression equation Y = 45.508 + 0.363X. This means that if the CTL approach is not used in the physics learning process, the student's physics behavior score will be 45.508. Then, for every 1% increase in the level of the CTL approach, the physics behavior of class VII middle school students will increase by 0.363.l. Novelty/Originality of this study: The findings of this research indicate that this approach in the teaching process is important to use as a means to increase the nuances of learning in the classroom to be more meaningful. The novelty of this research is that it is useful as a means of improving physics teaching and learning strategies in the classroom in order to shape students' positive behavior.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aimed to develop an online Three Tier Test Diagnostic of misconception in topic free fall motion. Methodology: This research is development research using a development model 4D by Thiagarajan (Define, Desain, Development, and Dissemination). However, the research is only limited to the Development stage because the research objectives have been achieved. The data collection instrument is a media expert validation questionnaire. The research data includes quantitative data in the form of expert validator evaluations and qualitative data in the form of comments and suggestions given by expert validators. Main Findings: The results showed that the product three tier online test diagnostic was feasible to use based on expert validation with a very feasible category. The resulting product has five item questions and consist of three tiers. The first tier is multiple choice questions, second is reason for answering question, and third tier is curiosity response index (CRI). Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this research is uses an online test. This is expected to be able to support the effectiveness of further research by researchers.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: In this research aims to determine increasing activity and science learning outcomes vibrations, waves and sound matter through student teams-achievment divisions (STAD) model. Methodology: This research is Classroom Action Research implemented in three cycles, each cycle consisting of four stages namely planning, observation, observation and reflection. The subject of this research are students of class VIII B of Pabelan 2 Public Middle School consisting of 32 students of 16 male students and 16 female students. Research instruments include observation guide sheet, questions and documentation guidelines. Main Findings: The results of the research show that the student teams achievement divisions (STAD) learning model can increase the activity and learning outcomes of Class VIII B students at State Middle Schools as evidenced by the increase in student learning completeness in Cycle I, 37.5% of students have completed learning, in Cycle II, 81% of students have completed learning and Cycle III 99% of students completed their studies. Novelty/Originality of this study: This research contributes to research with a new foundation in understanding scientific concepts through an innovative approach using the student teams-achievement divisions (STAD) model. The unique findings highlight STAD's significant contribution in stimulating student engagement and increasing achievement of learning outcomes, bringing new nuances to science education research.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This research aims to determine the improvement in student learning outcomes regarding light and optical devices in class VIII junior high school through the team teaching method and crossword puzzle learning media. Methodology: This research is a type of classroom action research. The subjects in this research were 30 students in class VIII A of Junior High School 2 Tuntang. Data collection techniques in this research used tests, observation, documentation. Data analysis in this research was carried out descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively. Main Findings: The research results showed that cycle I produced 8 students with a percentage of 26.7% who completed the minimum completion criteria and there were 22 students who had not completed it with a percentage of 73.3%. Meanwhile, cycle II produced 26 students who completed the minimum completion criteria with a percentage of 86.7%, while there were 4 students who had not completed it with a percentage of 13.3%. This was marked by an increase in the results of classical completion criteria in cycle I which was only 26.7% to 86.7% in cycle II. The team teaching method used in combination with crossword media makes students interested in new ways of learning. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study explores improving student learning outcomes in light and optical instruments using innovative methods, including team teaching and interactive crossword puzzles. The integration of crossword puzzles into teaching materials provides a unique and engaging learning experience, enhancing students' understanding of the subject.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This research aims to analyze physics students' understanding of the concept of image formation in lenses. Methodology: This method uses qualitative methods with a research design, namely documentation studies, data collection instruments using interview sheets with data analysis techniques, namely the Miles and Huberman technique. Main Findings: Based on the research results, it can be seen that the level of students' conceptual understanding of image formation is increasing. This is shown by the number of student respondents who answered correctly during the written test, the number increased during the interview test and the average number of respondents who answered correctly was more than half of the total number of respondents. The increase in understanding of this concept occurred because the student respondents were better prepared when taking the interview test than when taking the written test. The respondent students were better prepared because the respondents' memories were revived after the written test. Novelty/Originality of this study: This innovative approach not only highlights the importance of active learning strategies in education but also underscores the potential of sequential testing to foster deeper conceptual understanding among students.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: to improve science learning outcomes about light and optical devices through visual methods (learning by observing and describing) in class VIII junior high school students. Methodology: This type of research is classroom action research which is carried out in two cycles, namely cycle I and cycle II, each cycle contains planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The data collection method includes tests in the form of questions. Data analysis was carried out by calculating the achievement of learning outcomes for each cycle with an increase in classical completeness criteria, namely 85%. Main Findings: The research results show an increase in student learning outcomes through visual methods (learning by observing and describing) on the topic of light and optical devices. This research was successful with the average score increasing from 57.85% to 65.18% in the pre-cycle, increasing 21.42% in the first cycle, and reaching a class average of 81.42% with 96.42% completeness in the first cycle. cycle II, exceeding the target of 85% for classical completeness. Novelty/Originality of this study: The results of this research can contribute to scientific studies, especially on visual methods in learning in junior high schools. This research can be a guide for teachers to create interesting, effective and innovative learning, as well as increase students' enthusiasm for learning in science lessons through visual methods (learning by observing and imagining).

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The researcher aims to determine the increase in student learning outcomes in the earth's layers material by using audio-visual media. Methodology: This research is classroom action research. The subjects in this research were 7th grade students with a total of 39 students using a simple random sampling technique. The data collection instruments in this research consisted of multiple choice questions, observation sheets for teachers and students and documentation. Data analysis uses descriptive statistical analysis. Main Findings: The results of this research found that by using audio visual media students were more enthusiastic in participating in learning and with the help of discussion methods students were more active and discussing with groups, with audio visual media students' learning outcomes also increased, from the learning of each cycle in class VII F students a number There were 39 students who had not achieved learning completeness, 20 students in cycle I and 2 students in cycle II. After implementing the learning actions, there were still 2 students whose scores were less than 75 or had not reached the minimum completeness criteria of 75. Then these students were given further study guidance and given remedial measures. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this research is that it shows adaptation to students' learning styles or individual needs in the context of earth layer material, this can be considered an innovative step. A personalized learning approach can increase learning effectiveness.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The aim of this research is to explore the role of the traditional gasing game as a local wisdom in the coastal areas of East Sumatra in the context of Ethnoscience Physics learning about circular motion. Methodology: This research uses a naturalistic type of qualitative research method. The subjects in this research were secondary school physics teachers and local community leaders. Data collection techniques use interviews and observation instruments (direct observation). The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman model. Main Findings: The findings of this research indicate that integrated ethnoscientific physics learning can make physics education more enjoyable, meaningful, and contribute to the development of students' perseverance. The integration of spinning top games into physics education not only enhances practical understanding of physics concepts but also has a positive impact on students' learning enthusiasm and character formation. Novelty/Originality of this study: This research introduces novelty through serving as a cultural preservation tool for the younger generation and as a means to develop physics learning strategies oriented towards ethnoscientific physics. The aim is to build an understanding of the taught circular motion material and foster perseverance in students' characters.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The aim of this research is to determine the effect of using local wisdom-based modules on students' character of love for their homeland. Methodology: This research adopts a quantitative methodological approach with a quasi-experimental type. This research uses junior high school students who study vibrations, waves and sound as research samples. This study applied two main data collection techniques, namely a love of the country character questionnaire and a response questionnaire. student. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique used in this research is by conducting assumption tests and simple linear regression tests. Main Findings: Based on the results of the data analysis carried out, it was found that there was an influence of the use of local wisdom modules on the character of love for the country, namely an RSquare value of 0.616, which means that 61.6% of the local wisdom modules had an effect on the character of love for the country. There is an influence of the local wisdom module on the character of patriotism, this can be seen from the significance value < 0.05. The significance value obtained is 0.009. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this research lies in a holistic approach that combines elements of music, culture and the environment in order to build students' character of love for their homeland through a physics learning module based on local wisdom of the Canang Kayu musical instrument. The findings of this research are a physics teaching strategy that is oriented towards ethnophysics.
