Journal of Educational Management Research is an international peer-reviewed journal which publishes original and significant contributions to educational management, administration, and leadership, in its broadest sense, from all over the world. This includes primary research projects in schools and further vocational and higher education institutions. This journal encourages contributions that respond to important issues in management education. Contributions may be either conceptual or empirical and are welcomed from any topic area and country so long as they primarily focus on management or organization in education. Although our core areas of interest are organizational behaviour and management in education, we are also interested in leadership, public relation, human resource management, social issues in management, financial management, organizational development, critical management studies, etc. Authors are strongly encouraged to have their work reviewed and evaluated by their colleagues prior to submission for formal editorial review.

Abstract

This paper describes the quality assurance of health in improving the healthy lifestyle of students in Islamic boarding schools, highlighting its impact on students' comfort in learning. The research was conducted at the Nurul Jadid Islamic Boarding School. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques included interviews, observation, and documentation. Informants comprised health sector consultants, health division coordinators, and students selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis followed the Milles and Huberman framework, involving data presentation, reduction, and conclusion. The results indicate that the quality of health services at Nurul Jadid is well-assured, evidenced by the numerous health service programs provided by the Health Division. This research is expected to offer contributions and benefits, including (1) an assessment of the extent to which Nurul Jadid Islamic Boarding School has improved student health, (2) evaluation materials for the health service coordinator, and (3) considerations on the importance of enhancing health services for students.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the management of communication strategies in building the image of madrasas and changing the public's perspective towards MTs Miftahul Ulum Krejengan Probolinggo. The analysis uses a qualitative approach of case study type. This research focuses on communication strategies in building a madrasah sutra at MTs Miftahul Ulum Krejengan Probolinggo. The selection of a qualitative approach aims to understand communication strategies in building the image of madrasas at MTs Miftahul Ulum Krejengan Probolinggo. The case study was chosen to focus on the case under study. The research results show that MTs Miftahul Ulum carries out two communication management, namely internal communication management and external communication management. MTs Miftahul's internal communication management has an essential impact on creating a solid organization, using personal and group communication. Communication management is also carried out to solve organizational conflicts or problems. External communication management is carried out by MTs Miftahul to maintain organizational relationships with external parties and build the image of MTs Miftahul. Relations with the government, banking, press, consumers, surrounding community, and other organizations. This research provides implications regarding the importance of educational institutions in maintaining the image of madrasas by implementing communication strategies that impact image-building and changing society's perspective.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate efforts to improve brand image in Madrasah Diniyah Nurul Jadid through perceived quality by considering improving the quality of education, transparency and accountability, facilities and infrastructure, quality of teachers and staff, and student achievement. This research method is qualitative research with a case study approach, which involves in-depth interviews with various related parties in Madrasah Diniyah Nurul Jadid. The results showed that Madrasah Diniyah Nurul Jadid has made various efforts in improving its brand image through perceived quality. Improving the quality of education, carried out by improving the curriculum and presenting qualified, experienced, and highly dedicated teachers in the learning process. Transparency and accountability, in all aspects of Madrasah life. Facilities and infrastructure, in Madrasah Diniyah Nurul Jadid have also been well considered. Quality teachers and staff, Teachers and staff at Madrasah diniyah Nurul Jadid have played an active role in creating a positive learning environment. Student achievement, students of Madrasah diniyah Nurul Jadid managed to achieve achievements in various fields. Continuous efforts in improving these aspects have formed a positive image of Madrasah Diniyah Nurul Jadid as an educational institution that is superior, dignified, and committed to producing quality next generations.

Abstract

The quality of learning in madrasah is a crucial factor in achieving the goal of quality education. This study aims to understand the improvement of learning quality based on consultative supervision in madrasah. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. This approach is used to understand the aspects of improving the quality of learning based on consultative supervision in madrasah. The research informants were supervisors, heads and teachers in several madrasahs in Probolinggo district. Data were collected through interviews, observation and analysis of relevant documents. The results show that the consultative supervision process is carried out through the activities of providing time for consultation, problem solving in learning and collaboration between supervisors and madrasah heads in improving learning quality.

Abstract

This study discusses communication dynamics in the pesantren environment and the application of attribution theory in understanding community perceptions. This study explores how communication takes place in the context of pesantren and how attribution theory is used to understand how people interpret messages and actions from pesantren. The research method used is a case study by analyzing communication interactions in certain pesantren and interviewing related community members. The results showed that communication in pesantren produces self-awareness, optimization of communication, building a positive image, public education, and collaboration. Attribution theory helps understand how society assigns meaning and interpretation to information received from pesantren. These findings provide valuable insight into the importance of effective communication in building a positive image and increasing public understanding of pesantren.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the influence of Islamic values on the learning behaviour of students in Islamic boarding schools, as well as designing educational improvement strategies to increase the sustainability of Islamic boarding schools in achieving the goals of holistic Islamic education. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. Data collection techniques involve observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out in three stages, namely data condensation, data exposure, and concluding with verification. The research results show that implementing the right strategy can improve the quality of Islamic boarding school education and maintain the sustainability of these institutions in the global era. Strategy improvements include improving the quality of teaching with relevant methods, diversifying the curriculum according to global demands, effective financial management, community participation in financial support and Islamic boarding school facilities, developing human resources through continuous training, utilizing information technology, and preparing long-term strategic plans.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the concept of leadership in realizing the mechanical development of Madrasah Diniyah. The method used qualitative-descriptive. Data was collected through observation and interviews with the head of the madrasah, diniyah, the Deputy Head of Curriculum, and subject teachers. Data analysis involves condensing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the madrasa's principal initiated two construction patterns in education development at Madrasa Diniyah Takmiliyah Mambaul Ulum. First, the construction of the organizational structure as educational development from a structural point of view of the madrasah diniyah organization, and Second, the construction of the curriculum as educational development from a functional view of madrasah diniyah. The construction concept used by the head of Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Mambaul Ulum can develop Madrasah Diniyah education. It can be seen from graduates who can develop and instil three important aspects (cognitive, affective, and psychomotor) in themselves from learning experience and habituation. The leadership construction of the head of Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Mambaul Ulum was also outstanding and strengthened the mechanical structure of educational institutions structurally and functionally.

Abstract

The research focuses on managing facilities and infrastructure in a State Madrasah Aliyah. It can be centered around evaluating the physical condition of facilities, the effectiveness of management practices, the impact of infrastructure on learning, and stakeholder involvement. This research aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the facility conditions, management efficiency, the influence of infrastructure on learning, and the engagement of relevant stakeholders in educational facility management. Identifying a facility and infrastructure management can be seen from the planning, implementation, supporting, and inhibiting factors. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive analysis method. Data collection techniques in this study were done through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis is done through data reduction, display, and conclusion. The results of this study indicate that Management Planning for Facilities and Infrastructure for MAN 2 Bandung City is carried out by involving the community of MAN 2 Bandung City. The madrasah implements a process of five stages: procurement, Inventory, use, maintenance, and disposal. Supporting factors are human resources committees, while inhibiting factors are limited costs, especially in adding areas and buildings.

Abstract

The research will explore how school principals work together with various stakeholders, show work intensity, and show innovative learning attitudes to improve the quality of education. The purpose of this study is to describe the leadership of the principal of dRais School Kindergarten Bandar Lampung in creating synergy in the era of 'Merdeka Belajar' using the method popularized by Miles and Huberman. The research data was obtained from participants, namely the principal and teachers. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted in three stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing or verification. The results showed that the leadership of the principal of dRais School Kindergarten in creating synergy is achieved in three ways: by collaborating, showing work intensity, and always trying to show an innovative learning attitude.

Abstract

This study illustrates the quality of service in building competitive advantage in Nurul Jadid Islamic Boarding School. This research uses a qualitative case study approach. Data were obtained from observations and interviews. The resource persons in this study amounted to seven people and consisted of leaders of the Nurul Jadid Islamic boarding school, bureau leaders, bureau staff, students, guardians, alumni and the community around the Nurul Jadid Islamic boarding school. Data analysis using Miilles and Hubberman data reduction, data display and data verification. The results obtained from the application of service quality in building competitive advantage at Nurul Jadid Islamic Boarding School are (1) Tangible: real services such as E-Bekal services, BPS, student visits, goods deposit services, and so on, (2) Reliability: services in the form of reliability such as TOEFL test services, service SOPs, service regulations, teacher centralization, etc., (3) Responsiveness: responsive services or complaints from guardians in the form of guardian groups,  (4) Insurance: health insurance, employment and pension security, (5) Empathy: the role of guardians for students
