Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of the Student-Centered Learning (SCL) approach through the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) method in Qur’an–Hadith education. The research is motivated by challenges such as low student motivation, limited engagement, and the dominance of teacher-centered instruction in Islamic learning contexts. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach with a phenomenological design, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the integration of SCL and FGD enhances students’ active participation, fosters critical and collaborative thinking, and deepens contextual understanding of Qur’anic and Hadith values. Teachers shift from authoritative transmitters to facilitators of learning, while students become autonomous agents who construct meaning through dialogue. From an educational management perspective, this approach encourages more participatory classroom governance, strengthens instructional leadership, and supports continuous professional development for teachers. The study concludes that the SCL–FGD model represents an effective pedagogical and managerial innovation for Islamic education—promoting interactive, reflective, and contextually relevant learning aligned with 21st-century educational goals.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of implementing the Merdeka Mengajar (PMM) Platform on teachers' pedagogical competence. This study employed a quantitative method with a causal-associative research design. The study population consisted of 202 teachers, with a sample of 137 teachers determined using the Krejcie and Morgan table through a proportional random sampling technique. Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire that was tested for validity and reliability. The results showed that the implementation of PMM reached 80.67% and teachers' pedagogical competence was 79.24%. There was a significant relationship between the implementation of PMM and teachers' pedagogical competence, with a calculated r value of 0.319 (greater than the r table value of 0.167) and a calculated t value of 3.911 (greater than the t table value of 1.977) at a 95% significance level. In conclusion, the implementation of PMM has a significant effect on teachers' pedagogical competence. It is recommended that school principals regularly conduct training, teachers actively develop competencies through PMM, the Education Office provide policy and infrastructure support, and conduct periodic monitoring and evaluation to optimize the implementation of PMM.

Abstract

This research examines the role of Piil Pesenggiri's philosophy in shaping school principal leadership, with an emphasis on local wisdom values within the Lampung cultural context. Values such as nemui nyimah, sakai sambayan, nengah nyappur, and nickname adok are believed to strengthen the principal's moral and social dimensions. The research employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using the PRISMA approach, analyzing 20 peer-reviewed articles published within the last five years on cultural value-based leadership. Findings reveal that Piil Pesenggiri contributes to inclusive, moral, and collaborative leadership. Principals who embody these values are perceived as more open, adaptable, and respected by the school community. However, challenges include the absence of local culture-based training and pressures from national education policies. The study concludes that integrating Piil Pesenggiri into leadership can enhance ethical and transformative leadership qualities, fostering a more inclusive and contextually relevant learning environment. Policy support and training programs are needed to embed local wisdom into Indonesia’s educational leadership system.

Abstract

This study explores the role of collaborative leadership in enhancing the effectiveness of education delivery through school planning and management. Using a systematic literature review with a narrative approach, eight peer-reviewed articles from Google Scholar and SINTA were analyzed. Findings reveal that collaborative leadership fosters participatory, transparent, and student-centered planning processes. Principals, as collaborative leaders, actively engage teachers, staff, and stakeholders in joint decision-making, which strengthens ownership, shared responsibility, and the overall quality of educational services. Key challenges identified include ineffective communication, resistance to change, and limited managerial competence. The study underscores that open, inclusive, and reflective leadership enables schools to adapt planning strategies to evolving challenges and community needs. From a management perspective, the findings highlight that collaborative leadership not only improves operational efficiency but also builds organizational resilience, strengthens stakeholder trust, and promotes sustainable institutional growth. These insights have broader implications for educational management, suggesting that leadership development programs should integrate collaborative competencies as a core component. By embedding collaboration into school planning, educational institutions can create dynamic, responsive, and high-performing learning environments.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the transformational leadership role of Madrasah Heads in supporting teachers' mental health in MAN I Plus Skills Bengkalis. This issue is relevant considering psychological challenges such as stress and burnout are often faced by educators. Using a qualitative approach and a single-case study design, this study examines the leadership practices that directly impact teachers' mental well-being from the perspective of their personal experiences. In-depth interviews with madrasah heads and teachers, as well as document analysis, reveal that effective leadership is characterised by three main strategies: serving as a mentor and emotional supporter; fostering a participatory and collaborative work environment; and establishing policies that promote work-life balance. These findings confirm that leadership interventions focused on the humanitarian and psychological aspects have a significant impact on increasing teacher motivation, resilience, and job satisfaction. Implicitly, this study recommends that education leaders adopt a holistic approach that prioritizes the psychological well-being of teachers, ultimately improving the quality of teaching and the sustainability of educator professionalism.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of emotional intelligence on job performance, with work experience as a moderating variable. Employing a quantitative approach with a descriptive-verificative design, data were collected through structured questionnaires distributed to all 62 employees. The analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) via SmartPLS 3.0 software. The results reveal that emotional intelligence has a significant and positive effect on job performance. Employees with higher emotional intelligence demonstrate greater interpersonal competence, adaptability, and decision-making effectiveness—attributes that are essential in healthcare service delivery. Moreover, work experience also positively influences job performance, suggesting that practical exposure enhances task proficiency and professional maturity. Importantly, the study confirms a significant moderating effect of work experience in the relationship between emotional intelligence and job performance, indicating that experience strengthens the positive impact of emotional intelligence. These findings underscore the importance of fostering both emotional intelligence and relevant work experience to improve individual and organizational performance, particularly in service-oriented public institutions such as community health centers.

Abstract

This study aims to address the moral and cultural crisis reflected in the increasing violence among children, the decline of moral guidance, and the lack of respect towards parents and teachers. Education has become trapped in a capitalist system, while culture is centered on industry and commodities. To tackle these issues, the study explores the integration of local wisdom values as a cultural heritage rooted in philosophical values, ethics, and behaviors traditionally institutionalized. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the study provides a detailed analysis supported by theories for verification and justification. The results show that integrating local culture into character formation enriches children’s understanding of traditions, customs, and community values. Combining Islamic education with local culture creates harmony between religious and cultural values, allowing students to appreciate their cultural roots while practicing Islamic teachings. This approach not only strengthens religious and cultural identity but also prepares students to face modern challenges with well-formed characters such as leadership, spirituality, honesty, responsibility, creativity, and cooperation. These traits are essential for developing fundamental character values.

Abstract

Juvenile delinquency refers to actions that violate societal norms, rules, or laws, often stemming from unresolved conflicts and problems carried over from childhood into adolescence. In the school environment, such misconduct remains a recurring challenge for many educational institutions. This study aims to describe the roles of principals and teachers in addressing juvenile delinquency within schools. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design, the research seeks to understand the lived experiences of research subjects, including their behaviors, perceptions, motivations, and actions. Informants were selected based on specific criteria, encompassing school administrators (principals, vice principals, and student affairs coordinators), homeroom teachers, guidance and counseling teachers, students involved in delinquent behavior, and their parents. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis. The findings emphasize that schools should serve not only as centers for academic learning but also as environments that foster moral and social values, equip students with essential life skills, and engage them in constructive activities that promote personal growth and responsible behavior.
