Abstract

This study examines the strategies employed by private English tutors in Indonesia to enhance students' speaking skills, particularly in non-formal educational settings. English speaking proficiency is crucial for academic and professional success, yet many students face barriers such as anxiety, lack of confidence, and limited practice opportunities. The study aims to explore the methods used by private tutors to address these challenges and improve speaking competence. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with five experienced private tutors in Palangka Raya. The findings reveal that tutors utilize communicative strategies such as role-playing, storytelling, task-based learning, and digital tools to foster student engagement and fluency. Additionally, tutors adapt their approaches to meet individual student needs, addressing psychological factors like anxiety and motivation. The study contributes to the understanding of private tutoring practices, emphasizing the importance of creativity and flexibility in non-formal English language instruction. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of transformational leadership, training programs, and employee engagement on employee performance. A quantitative approach was used in this study, with a sample of 72 employees from a restaurant in Malang selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression methods. The main results of this study indicate that transformational leadership and employee engagement have a positive and significant influence on employee performance. In contrast, training programs do not show a significant effect. The practical implication of these findings is that performance improvements can be more effectively achieved through an inspirational leadership style and employee emotional engagement. Furthermore, there is a need to re-evaluate the effectiveness of existing training programs. A limitation of this study is that the sample coverage is limited to one company, so generalizing the results to a broader context requires caution.

Abstract

Human Resource Development (HRD) is an effort to improve human capabilities in order to increase company productivity. This research aims to analyze the Effectiveness of Training for Innovation Improvement in Banana Product Presentation on Human Resource Development by the Department of Tourism, Youth, and Sports. In this study, it is found that the independent variable (innovation improvement training) has a positive and significant effect on human resource development. This is proven by the results of the t-test, where the calculated t-value is 13.498, while the critical t-value is 2.014. Thus, it can be concluded that t-calculated > t-table, and the significance level is below 0.000 < 0.05, which means the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that partially, innovation improvement training has a positive and significant effect on human resource development in Rajekwesi Village. This means that if the village community frequently receives training, human resource development will improve. Conversely, the less training the community receives, the more difficult it will be to develop their human resources. This research also contributes to education by emphasizing the importance of practical, skill-based training as part of non-formal education. The findings highlight that targeted innovation training can enhance critical thinking, creativity, and entrepreneurial capacity key competencies in 21st-century learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore strategic approaches for implementing and optimizing a dormitory-based curriculum while designing a practical learning roadmap for new I’dadiyah students. Unlike conventional education, the dormitory curriculum emphasizes not only academic achievement but also character building and essential life skills. Adopting a case study design with a qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis related to the I’dadiyah dormitory program. The findings highlight the importance of synergy among administrators, educators, and students, supported by a structured learning roadmap. This roadmap outlines three key stages: adaptation, reinforcement of basic competencies, and personal development. By integrating holistic learning methods with continuous evaluation, the dormitory curriculum can be effectively optimized to foster both intellectual and moral growth. The study concludes by recommending the strengthening of monitoring and evaluation systems as well as the active engagement of all stakeholders. Such strategic implementation ensures that the dormitory curriculum functions not merely as an academic framework but as a transformative model for cultivating well-rounded, resilient, and capable students in the pesantren environment.

Abstract

Teacher competence is a key factor in improving education quality and student outcomes in the 21st century. This systematic literature review analyzes 41 peer-reviewed studies published between 2020 and 2025, examining the roles of leadership, professional development, and digital innovation. Using PRISMA methodology and a critical assessment framework, the review identifies that instructional and transformational leadership enhance teacher competence by promoting collaboration, innovation, and accountability. Effective professional development models include mentorship, coaching, and learning communities, particularly when adapted to local contexts. Digital innovations—such as AI, gamification, and mobile learning—offer new pathways for teacher growth but face challenges related to infrastructure, training, and socio-economic disparities. The review highlights significant inequalities between developed and developing regions, especially in rural areas. Findings underscore the need for equity-focused policies, localized implementation of global frameworks, and sustainable investment in teacher development. Enhancing teacher competence remains a global and local priority to prepare students for the demands of an increasingly complex world.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze graduate quality assurance as a strategic driver of competitiveness at Islamic Boarding School. Graduate quality assurance has become a central issue in global education, particularly in linking institutional reputation, character formation, and employability. However, research focusing on Islamic boarding schools remains limited despite their significant role in Indonesia’s education system. A qualitative case study approach was employed, using in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, with data analyzed through Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. Findings reveal three key outcomes. First, a structured graduate quality assurance system strengthens institutional reputation, enhancing trust among parents, government agencies, universities, and employers. Second, character-based quality assurance provides a unique competitive edge, as graduates are recognized not only for academic competence but also for integrity, discipline, and leadership. Third, employability emerges as an essential indicator, with graduates demonstrating adaptability, entrepreneurial skills, and readiness for diverse careers. These findings highlight that pesantren can integrate traditional values with modern quality frameworks, thereby achieving credibility and competitiveness in wider educational landscapes. The study contributes to expanding quality assurance discourse into faith-based institutions and recommends policy support to strengthen assurance systems in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

This study explores the use of Kahoot as an interactive learning tool to enhance student motivation in Social Studies. Motivated by the low enthusiasm and passive participation often observed in conventional, theory-heavy Social Studies lessons, the research adopts a descriptive qualitative case study approach. The study involved 25 students and followed a cycle of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Findings indicate a significant increase in student motivation and engagement. Students demonstrated greater enthusiasm, active participation, and curiosity during lessons using Kahoot. The gamified quiz environment created a fun, competitive learning atmosphere and allowed real-time assessment of student understanding. Beyond improving classroom dynamics, the study highlights critical implications for educational management. Integrating digital tools like Kahoot into classroom practice can serve as a strategic component in learning management, promoting a more student-centered, participatory, and data-informed teaching process. Educators and school leaders are encouraged to incorporate gamification strategies to support motivation and foster a culture of active learning. Kahoot proves to be not only a teaching aid but also a managerial tool for enhancing instructional planning, engagement tracking, and performance evaluation.
