Abstract

The increasing number of divorce cases in Indonesia has a serious impact on the fulfillment of children's rights to support, which should remain the responsibility of parents, especially fathers, even though the marriage has ended. This study aims to examine the strategic role of the Pekanbaru City Women's Empowerment, Child Protection and Community Empowerment Service (DP3APM) in advocating for children who are victims of violations of the right to support. Using a qualitative descriptive approach and a victimology approach, this study explores the function of DP3APM as a regulator, dynamic, and facilitator in order to ensure the protection and fulfillment of children's basic rights after divorce. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation of relevant informants, such as DP3APM staff, legal counselors, psychologists, and mothers/guardians of victimized children. The results of the study show that DP3APM not only plays a role in formulating policies, but is also active in providing legal assistance, psychosocial, and mediation services between parties. Despite facing structural and cultural challenges, DP3APM has succeeded in becoming a key institution in bridging children's rights with real access to justice. These findings underscore the importance of integrating legal, social, and psychological approaches in state institution-based advocacy efforts. The Pekanbaru DP3APM work model can be a reference for other regions facing similar problems.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of work-life balance and work overload on burnout levels in Generation Z employees in Surabaya. Generation Z is known as a group of workers who prioritize balance between work and personal life, but are also vulnerable to excessive work pressure. This study uses a quantitative method with data collection techniques through questionnaires distributed to 100 Generation Z employees in various industrial sectors in Surabaya. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, with the criteria for respondents being employees aged 18–27 years, employees working in Surabaya, and employees who have been working for at least 1 year. The data obtained were analyzed using multiple linear regression techniques to test the relationship between the independent variables (work-life balance and work overload) with the dependent variable (burnout). The results showed that work-life balance has a significant negative effect on burnout, meaning that the better the balance between work and personal life, the lower the burnout level. Conversely, work overload has a positive and significant effect on burnout, indicating that the higher the workload, the higher the burnout level experienced by Generation Z employees

Abstract

The role of information systems is currently crucial in various fields, including education and Yayasan Aldiana Nusantara (YAN), which supports many students from low to middle economic backgrounds, faces challenges in selecting scholarship recipients for financially disadvantaged students. To assist in making accurate and swift decisions, a computer-based Decision Support System (DSS) is required. This study aims to design a web-based DSS using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) methods. This system was designed to assist Yayasan Aldiana Nusantara - YAN in selecting scholarship recipients based on criteria, such as, grade level, scholarship recipient status, father's income, mother's income, report card grades, and the number of extracurricular activities. The SAW method is used for weighting criteria, while the TOPSIS method is used to rank alternatives based on their proximity to the ideal solution. The system design follows the waterfall model, comprising analysis, design, implementation, and testing phases. The DSS is developed using PHP programming language and MySQL Database Management System. The system provides four types of access rights: administrator, jury, student, and faculty leader, ensuring security and ease of use. The test results indicate that the system has a high level of accuracy, reliability, integrity, and usability. This system also helps expedite the scholarship selection process, reduce errors in recipient determination, and facilitate the selection team in decision-making. With this DSS, YAN is able to conduct the scholarship selection process more effectively and efficiently, ensuring that aid is accurately targeted at students in need.

Abstract

Mathematics is an essential science in life, yet not everyone enjoys it. Despite its importance, students often struggle with mathematics, perceiving it as difficult and relying on memorization of concepts. To address this, an effective teaching method is needed to help students engage with and improve their learning outcomes. This study applies the use of concept maps in teaching, guiding students to understand the meaning and relationships between formulas. The concept map helps students not only memorize concepts but also see how they are interconnected. The purpose of this study was to determine whether students taught with concept maps had better mathematics learning outcomes compared to those who did not use concept maps. The hypothesis was that students using concept maps would perform better. The research used an experimental design with two groups: an experimental group taught using concept maps and a control group taught without them. The sample consisted of 33 students from each group, selected randomly from a population of 164 students at MAN 1 Padang. Data on learning outcomes were collected using an essay test at the end of the study. The results showed that students in the experimental group performed better. The average score in the experimental group was 74.43, compared to 68.24 in the control group. Additionally, 29 students in the experimental group met the minimum passing criteria, while only 25 in the control group did. The study concluded that using concept maps significantly improved students' mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

PG Tjoekir Jombang is a sugar production company that uses production machines for cost efficiency and to increase the homogeneity of production quality. This activity causes noise exposure in the workplace which threatens the comfort and health of workers. This study aims to analyze the noise level in the work area of ??the Tjoekir Jombang Sugar Factory (PG) and its relationship to non-auditory complaints experienced by workers. The method used is a descriptive quantitative approach through direct measurement of noise using a sound level meter and distributing questionnaires to 60 respondents. The measurement results show that most work areas have noise levels exceeding the threshold of 85 dB(A) at the grinding, cooking, turning, finishing and power house stations.. Mapping using Surfer software produces 3 zones, namely high intensity levels in red > 85 dB (A), yellow to orange at 80-85 dB (A), and low levels <85 dB (A). The Chi-Square test showed a significant relationship between noise intensity and non-auditory complaints (p < 0.05). The results of the Chi-Square test showed a significant relationship between noise levels and communication disorders (p = 0.007) and psychological disorders (p = 0.033). However, the relationship with Physiological complaints was not significant (p = 0.354). These findings indicate that noise has a real impact on certain aspects of health, so appropriate control efforts need to be made.
