Abstract

Higher education today faces various challenges and opportunities influenced by the development of technology and information. In this context, the utilization of learning resources becomes an important aspect to enhance the quality of education and support the completion of students' assignments. Students are expected to be able to utilize various learning resources such as e-journals, textbooks, e-books, as well as artificial intelligence-based tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity to support the completion of their coursework. This research aims to analyze the utilization of learning resources by students in completing their coursework. The type of research used is descriptive quantitative research to describe the actual situation based on data obtained from a predetermined sample. The sample in this study consisted of 105 students selected using the proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Based on the data analysis results, the average percentage of resource utilization is as follows: e-journal 81.79% (very good category), textbooks 74.57% (good category), e-books 79% (good category), ChatGPT 83.67% (very good category), and Perplexity 82.1% (very good category). These findings indicate that students predominantly use digital resources that are considered practical, relevant, and efficient in completing their coursework. Although textbooks are still used, their usage is the lowest compared to other digital sources. Overall, the utilization of learning resources by students of the Educational Technology Study Program at FIP UNP has been effective, but improving information literacy is essential so that students can be more discerning in choosing credible sources that meet their academic needs.

Abstract

This research is motivated by students' needs for a variety of learning models. Arabic language learning at the junior high school level, particularly in reading skills (qirā’ah), is often still conventional, relying heavily on translation and teacher-centered instruction. This research aims to examine the effectiveness of the Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) learning model in enhancing qirā’ah skills among seventh-grade students at SMP IT Fathona Palembang. The study employs a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative (pre-test and post-test) and qualitative (observation and interviews) data. The experimental design used is pre-experimental with one group pre-test–post-test design. Fifteen students were selected purposively as the research sample. The results showed a significant increase in students’ average scores from 33.33 (pre-test) to 83.33 (post-test). Normality and homogeneity tests confirmed the appropriateness of the data for parametric analysis, and a paired sample t-test showed a significant difference (Sig. 0.000 < 0.05), indicating that the SSCS model was effective. Qualitative findings from interviews revealed that students found the learning process more engaging and collaborative through the SSCS stages. They felt more motivated and better understood Arabic texts when involved in searching for information, solving problems, creating content, and sharing outcomes. This study contributes to expanding the application of the SSCS model to language learning contexts, especially in Islamic junior high schools. However, it is limited by the small sample size, suggesting that future studies should explore broader settings and additional language skills.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that although the implementation of ETLE aids in traffic law enforcement, the aspect of traffic violators compliance with ETLE ticket resolution still requires further investigation, considering the challenges in encouraging traffic violators to actively resolve their violations through the ETLE system. This research aims to identify optimization efforts that can be recommended to improve traffic violators' compliance in settling ETLE in Padang City. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with data obtained from observations, interview results, and documents related to ETLE. The optimization efforts use indicators from Siringoringo (2005), namely objectives, decision alternatives, and limited resources. The research results show that the level of compliance among traffic violators is still low, where the violators comply only to avoid harsher penalties, not out of awareness that resolving ETLE is something done voluntarily and believed to be good for them, the violators. Then there are several administrative obstacles found in the resolution of ETLE tickets. The recommended optimization efforts are (1) Conducting intensive socialization to the public regarding the technical implementation of ETLE fines, (2) Implementing a program for periodic correction and updating of vehicle address data, (3) Imposing additional fines on violators who do not promptly settle ETLE fines, (4) Upgrading CCTV cameras with Face Recognition features, and (5) Digitizing the delivery of confirmation letters. So, the delivery of confirmation letters can be done by sending them through the violator's phone number or via the violator's email.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using digital da'wah media in improving religious literacy in grade XI students of MAN Insan Cendekia OKI. In the midst of a fast and massive flow of information, digital da'wah comes as a fresh and relevant approach for Generation Z. This study uses a quantitative approach with a simple linear regression method on 30 randomly selected respondents. The results showed that digital da'wah has a significant and positive influence on religious literacy. It is known that 70.5% of variations in the level of religious literacy can be explained by the intensity of access to digital da'wah. This proves that digital media is not only a means of entertainment, but can also be an effective educational medium to shape moderate and critical religious understanding among adolescents. This research is expected to be an inspiration for preachers, educational institutions, and the younger generation in utilizing technology to strengthen religious values in a positive way.

Abstract

Engine valve is an important part of the valve mechanism system in an internal combustion engine that functions to regulate the flow in and out of the air and fuel mixture into the combustion chamber. The quality and clean efficiency of the valves contribute to optimal engine performance. The purpose of this study was to test the design of prototype engine washer engine valve timing chain-based by examining the comparison of cleaning quality and operating time efficiency with existing conventional engine washer valve. The method used in the study is the applied method. Data analysis obtained the time required for input 1 valve for 9 seconds, in the first experiment, 7 seconds in the second experiment, 6 seconds in the third experiment based on data taken valve position greatly affects the length of each valve to be input to the washing process. The test results show that the timing chain-based waher engine valve engine is able to reduce the time required with high accuracy. The cleaning process becomes more efficient and reduces the touch to the valve which makes the Valve have high quality. In addition, this engine valve waher engine reduces engine maintenance time, resulting in cost savings and improved overall efficiency.

Abstract

The expansion of villages is also part of an effort to improve the ability of village governments to shorten the span of government control so as to increase the effectiveness of government administration and development management. The main objective of village expansion is to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of government administration, as well as to increase community participation in government, one of which is to increase village development. This study aims to analyze the impact of village expansion on the use of Village-Nagari Fund Allocation on development and identify factors that influence changes in fund allocation after expansion. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation studies involving the village government, the Village Consultative Body (BAMUS), and the local community. The results of the study indicate that village expansion has reduced the receipt of Village-Nagari Fund Allocation in Ladang Panjang Village, which has an impact on the limited use of the Village-Nagari Fund Allocation budget for infrastructure development and public services. This expansion also affects the effectiveness of village financial management, where several development projects cannot be realized due to budget constraints. Factors that influence changes in village fund allocation include changes in population, administrative area, and fund distribution policies from local governments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of linguistic honesty in public-figure narratives published in Tempo Magazine articles, employing the Statement Analysis in Linguistics (SAL) forensic-linguistic model developed by John Olsson. The investigation arises from concerns about public figures’ communication practices, which are often laden with manipulation when addressing legal cases—such as the “special fugitive” scandal. Using a qualitative-descriptive method, the study examines six narratives by public figures (including Anita Kolopaking, Yasonna Laoly, and Listyo Sigit Prabowo) based on three indicators: narrative structure, sequence of events, and association of the narrator with events. The analysis reveals varying levels of honesty: some narratives exhibit a coherent structure and high personal involvement, while others show signs of deception—such as excessive justification, inconsistent pronoun use, and convoluted narrative flow. These findings demonstrate that a forensic-linguistic approach is effective in identifying linguistic manipulation in public discourse and can serve as an evaluative instrument for assessing the integrity of public figures’ communication.
