Abstract

Taxes are a primary source of state revenue but, on the other hand, can be a burden for companies as they reduce net profit. Therefore, an appropriate tax management strategy is needed to legally minimize the tax burden. This study aims to analyze the tax planning strategies implemented by PT XYZ, a company engaged in human resource solutions. This research employs a qualitative approach through interview techniques to obtain relevant data. The results show that PT XYZ has applied various tax planning strategies, including: deferring revenue recognition for projects that are not yet substantially completed, accurate and complete documentation of tax withholdings, careful management of input and output VAT, grouping non-deductible expenses to avoid tax corrections, optimizing the recognition of deductible expenses, and using the services of tax consultants. All these strategies are carried out in compliance with the prevailing tax regulations in Indonesia, thereby not only reducing the company’s tax burden but also improving its tax compliance.

Abstract

The advancement of technology in the digital era has significantly transformed the educational landscape, including at the elementary school level. While students today grow up surrounded by technology, many still lack the awareness and skills to use it wisely and productively for learning. This study aims to explore the integration of technology and collaborative learning models in enhancing the digital literacy of elementary school students. A qualitative approach was employed, using semi-structured interviews and literature review as data collection methods. The findings reveal that integrating technology into learning creates a more interactive environment and fosters the development of 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. Collaborative learning models have proven effective in increasing student engagement, social skills, and digital competence. Teachers’ strategies for integrating technology include the use of educational applications, project-based learning, and the incorporation of digital ethics. Despite challenges such as limited infrastructure and varying levels of digital literacy, a comprehensive approach involving teachers, students, and parents can optimize the benefits of technology-enhanced collaborative learning. These findings are expected to serve as a foundation for the development of relevant educational policies and teaching practices in the digital.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the teaching strategy preferences implemented by male and female English teachers at senior highs bb School, focusing on how gender affects the choice of teaching strategies. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data was collected through observations, teaching strategy checklists, anecdotal notes, and in-depth interviews with English teachers at the school. The findings show that male teachers mostly use student-centered strategies such as direct explanation and exercises with training on learning strategies, including social-affective learning strategies, projects, problems, discovery, active learning, integrated learning, and flipped learning. Meanwhile, female teachers tend to adopt more contemporary and student-centered strategies such as project-based learning and the use of varied media, assignments, and female teachers use more cognitive and metacognitive strategies, but the application of other strategies such as project-based learning, active learning, flipped learning, and competency-based learning and differentiated learning is still very limited. This difference suggests that gender plays an important role in shaping teaching strategy preferences, with male teachers more willing to try different methods, especially technology-based and collaborative ones, while female teachers tend to choose contemporary and more interactive strategies. The study concludes that recognizing and understanding these gender-based differences can inform curriculum development and professional growth for teachers, ultimately supporting more effective English language teaching and learning in similar educational contexts.

Abstract

The advancement of information and technology in health requires health science students to continuously adapt themselves globally and internationally by improving their access to various literature, especially those written in English. This study intended to give a description of students’ reading interest and habit, especially toward English written literature. This study was carried out by a descriptive quantitative method. The respondents were 175 students who were selected by a purposive sampling technique. The research findings showed that students’ interest and habit towards English-written literature were low. It could be derived from the majority (50.9%) “like” to read. Unfortunattely, only 30,9% who “like” to read English Literature, 45,1% stated “so-so” and 24%  “dislike” reading English- written literature. In addition, as much as 67.9% respondents spent less than an hour per day to read English-written literature. Therefore, some integrative efforts to improve students’ reading interest and to build students reading habit are needed, for instance, by integrating literacy program into students’ learning activities of all courses.

Abstract

This activity aimed to examine the mathematical problem-solving abilities of elementary school students. The low level of problem-solving skills must be a key focus when designing instructional materials. High-quality learning tools can help students develop strong problem-solving skills. This study employs a descriptive research design using a qualitative approach. The initial observation in this study aims to enhance students' problem-solving abilities, particularly in mathematics, by investigating the teaching materials currently used and developed by teachers, and whether these materials require further development. This includes whether there is a need to develop problem-based learning (PBL) materials grounded in real-life situations to improve students' mathematical problem-solving skills. Initial observations at SDN 03 Bunga Tanjung and SDN 04 Kajai reveal the following: (1) The learning process is still predominantly teacher-centered, (2) Only a small number of students are actively involved in the learning process, with many appearing distracted or playing with peers, (3) During lessons, teachers are not using student worksheets that match the students' characteristics; instead, they rely solely on standard textbooks. Based on these findings, further research is needed to develop problem-based learning materials for elementary school students.

Abstract

This research examines the criminal responsibility of the perpetrator in the case of theft of rail iron belonging to PT. KAI Drive Natar, as stated in Decision Number 28/Pid.B/2024/PN.Kla. The focus of the discussion is directed at the factors behind the theft and the forms of legal responsibility imposed on the perpetrators. This crime was committed by two defendants who misused official attributes to disguise their criminal actions, which resulted in a loss of IDR 18,000,000. This research uses a normative juridical method with a case study approach. The research results show that apart from economic factors and opportunities, weak supervision is one of the main triggers for this criminal act. From a legal aspect, the perpetrator's responsibility refers to the provisions of Article 362 and Article 363 of the Criminal Code which regulate theft by aggravation. In handing down a decision, the panel of judges considered the elements of the crime and the role of each defendant. It is hoped that this study will provide a deeper understanding of law enforcement practices and serve as material for evaluating the effectiveness of criminal sanctions in dealing with theft of state-owned assets.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of tax planning on firm value through a comprehensive literature review. Using a qualitative approach, this research collects, analyzes, and synthesizes secondary data from various credible sources, including academic journals, theses, textbooks, and Indonesian tax regulations. The findings reveal that effective tax planning can significantly enhance firm value by increasing after-tax profits, improving financial efficiency, and strengthening investor confidence. However, the impact is not uniform across all companies. Several moderating factors influence the relationship between tax planning and firm value, such as firm size, ownership structure, tax regulations, leverage, and corporate governance. While some studies report a positive and significant correlation, others show insignificant or context-dependent effects. This indicates that the effectiveness of tax planning strategies is shaped by both internal and external factors. The study provides practical implications for corporate management, investors, and policymakers in designing balanced and transparent tax strategies that align with regulatory compliance and long-term value creation.
