Abstract

This research explored the integration of Banjar culture, particularly the philosophy behind Sasirangan fabric, into English language teaching through a culture-based approach. In Indonesia, English language education often emphasizes technical aspects such as grammar and vocabulary, which can create a disconnect from real-life language use. By incorporating local cultural elements like Sasirangan, a traditional fabric with deep philosophical values representing diversity, resilience, and cooperation, this research aims to enrich the learning experience and improve students' English proficiency. The research used a qualitative, literature-based approach to analyzed how Sasirangan’s symbolic meanings can enhance speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. The reserch finds that integrating cultural values from Sasirangan into English teaching not only fosters a deeper understanding of the language but also strengthens intercultural competence, motivating students and increasing their engagement. Despite challenges such as limited resources and teachers' understanding of local culture, the research suggests that the use of culturally relevant materials, like videos and interactive content, can facilitate this integration. Ultimately, this approach supports both language acquisition and cultural appreciation, offering a holistic learning experience.

Abstract

Small Group Discussion is a learning model that involves two or more individuals interacting intensively and face-to-face to achieve predetermined goals through the exchange of information, opinions, or problem-solving. Learning outcomes include students’ ability to develop metacognitive skills, such as their capacity to plan, organize, and evaluate their own learning processes. These outcomes are often linked to students’ engagement in the learning process. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). CAR is a problem-solving process that applies scientific methods involving collaboration and cooperation between researchers, educators, and participants. It is a specific variant of action research that plays a significant and strategic role in improving the quality of teaching and learning activities. The results of this study indicate that students are able to interact intensively and face-to-face in identifying and solving problems, exploring or debating issues, which is considered effective in stimulating thinking, challenging attitudes and beliefs, and developing students’ interpersonal skills. Students are also able to share knowledge, experiences, and perspectives with their group members. Furthermore, they are capable of giving and receiving feedback, asking questions, presenting arguments, and concluding the results of discussions. Overall, the implementation of the Small Group Discussion model proves to be effective in improving student learning outcomes.

This study aims to examine the role of learning motivation as a predictor of academic success through a literature review approach in the field of educational psychology. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were obtained from various national and international scientific literature sources. The findings indicate that learning motivation, particularly intrinsic motivation, has a significant relationship with students’ academic achievement. Students with high learning motivation tend to be more active, diligent, and capable of applying effective learning strategies, which positively impacts their academic performance. These findings are supported by various motivation theories, such as Self-Determination Theory and Expectancy-Value Theory, and are in line with national education policies that emphasize the importance of holistic student development. In conclusion, learning motivation plays a crucial role in determining academic success, and strengthening this aspect should be a focus in the planning and implementation of the learning process at all levels of education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze tax-saving strategies through the selection of business entity forms in Indonesia. The analysis focuses on four types of entities: Limited Liability Company (PT), Limited Partnership (CV), cooperative, and foundation, each of which has distinct tax treatments and legal structures. The method used is qualitative descriptive with a literature review approach, utilizing relevant sources published between 2020 and 2025. The results show that choosing the appropriate business entity form can serve as an effective, legal, and sustainable tax planning strategy. A PT offers legal certainty but comes with higher tax and administrative burdens. A CV is more flexible and suitable for MSMEs, benefiting from a lighter final tax rate. Cooperatives receive fiscal incentives on retained earnings (SHU), while foundations have potential tax exemptions for social activities. Therefore, the selection of a business entity should take into account legal aspects, fiscal considerations, and long-term operational goals.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of local wisdom values into thematic curriculum-based learning at MI Pelangi Alam in Ponorogo. The issue addresses how culturally rooted values such as cooperation, humility, and respect are embedded within educational practices to foster character development among elementary students. The research aims to identify effective strategies for implementing local wisdom in teaching, examine its impact on student awareness and character, and explore challenges faced in curriculum integration. Employing a qualitative approach, data were collected through structured interviews, observations, and documentation analysis involving teachers and students. The findings reveal that MI Pelangi Alam successfully incorporates local cultural elements—such as history, culinary traditions, and religious tourism into lessons, which enhances students' understanding of their identity and local resources. The active learning methods, including project-based and cooperative learning, effectively engage students and promote character values aligned with local culture. Support from the community and continuous teacher training further facilitate the integration process. However, challenges such as curriculum constraints and uneven teacher proficiency highlight areas for improvement. Overall, the incorporation of local wisdom values positively influences students' character development and cultural awareness, contributing to the broader goal of forming respectful, confident, and culturally rooted individuals. This research provides insights into sustainable strategies for embedding local culture into primary education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze tax planning strategies related to fiscal losses and business closure within the framework of Indonesian taxation law. Fiscal loss, if not properly managed, can lead to suboptimal tax positions for corporate taxpayers, particularly in the context of business termination or restructuring. Through a normative juridical approach combined with case-based analysis, this paper examines several strategic alternatives, including the revaluation of fixed assets to align book and tax values, corporate mergers as a means to utilize carried-forward fiscal losses, and the procedures for Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP) and Taxable Entrepreneur Confirmation Number (NPPKP) deregistration. These methods are evaluated in terms of their legal basis, practical implementation, and potential tax efficiency outcomes. The findings suggest that with appropriate planning and compliance, taxpayers can mitigate fiscal burdens, optimize the use of past losses, and ensure a lawful and efficient exit from business operations. The study contributes to the understanding of tax planning as a crucial component of corporate financial strategy, particularly in scenarios involving financial distress or liquidation.

Abstract

The agriculture, forestry, and agricultural infrastructure sector plays a crucial role in maintaining Indonesia’s food security, yet it continues to face various challenges, especially in terms of limited access to financing. Sharia Rural Banks (BPRS) are among the financial institutions that have the capacity to provide funding to this sector, although the distribution of such financing is affected by both internal and external factors. This study aims to analyze the influence of Non-Performing Financing (NPF), Third Party Funds (DPK), and the Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) on BPRS financing in the agriculture, forestry, and agricultural infrastructure sectors in Indonesia. Using monthly time series data from January 2013 to September 2024, the study applies the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) approach to explore both short-run and long-run relationships. The findings indicate that NPF has a negative and statistically significant effect in both the short and long term. DPK, while showing an insignificant effect in the short term negative in the previous period and positive in the current exhibits a significant and positive influence over the long term. Meanwhile, NTP exerts a positive but statistically insignificant impact across both time horizons. These results provide important insights into the variables affecting BPRS financing and offer useful input for policy development aimed at strengthening the targeted sectors through Islamic financial approaches.
