Abstract

Aqidah Akhlak education plays a crucial role in shaping faithful, moral, and well-mannered students. An effective method in this learning is utilizing exemplary stories of prophets and companions. This study aims to analyze the integration of aqidah, akhlak, and adab elements in the stories of Prophet Yunus, Prophet Ayyub, Prophet Dawud, Prophet Sulaiman, and the Khulafaur Rasyidin. Using a qualitative library research method, this study analyzes textbooks and relevant academic literature. The findings show that each exemplary story contains aqidah as a foundation of faith, fostering noble qualities (patience, gratitude, repentance, justice, and trustworthiness) which manifest in polite and responsible conduct. This integrative pattern forms a holistic and balanced Muslim character. Thus, exemplary stories are effective media for character education as they integrate students' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects.

Abstract

Preventive fire mitigation in higher education environments is a complex institutional responsibility influenced by various factors. This study aims to identify and analyze the supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of preventive fire mitigation at UNP's Air Tawar Campus. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation study of ten key informants selected purposively, this research identifies five main supporting factors: the availability of effective fire extinguishers, rapid security officer response and coordination, active support from the Padang City Fire Department, the existence of a Risk Management Sub-Directorate with strong leadership commitment based on ISO 31000:2018, and newer buildings with more adequate protection standards. The identified inhibiting factors include budget constraints, an incomplete and reactive data recording system, uneven protection standards due to fragmented management, minimal fire training and drills, unaudited electrical installations, and a risk culture gap among academic community members. These findings have strategic implications for strengthening fire safety governance in Indonesian higher education institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the comprehensive effect of financial literacy and lifestyle choices on the personal financial management of active undergraduate students at Universitas Lembah Dempo during the 2026 academic year. Driven by emerging issues in digital consumerism and the rapid expansion of peer-led lifestyle expectations, managing student allowances has become a critical socioeconomic challenge. The research design implements a quantitative approach with an associative research paradigm. The empirical population targeted includes all active students across various departments, totaling 648 students, from which a representative sample of 87 respondents was drawn using the classic Yamane formula combined with an accidental sampling protocol. Primary empirical data collection was systematically operationalized through digitized multi-item questionnaires scored on a 5-point Likert scale. Analytical processes were fully carried out using descriptive statistical testing, instrument validation procedures, internal consistency reliability diagnostics, and multiple linear regression modeling computed via SPSS version 26. The empirical findings reveal that financial literacy independently exerts a highly significant and positive influence on personal financial management capabilities, yielding a significance level of 0.000 (< 0.05). Concurrently, individual lifestyle attributes show a statistically robust and profound predictive impact on how students structure their financial management routines (sig 0.000 < 0.05). Synthesizing both parameters, the simultaneous F-test validates that financial literacy and lifestyle dynamically predict personal financial management, exhibiting an F-value of 427.120 with an absolute significance of 0.000 (< 0.05). The computed coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.910 indicates that 91.0% of the statistical variance observed in students' personal financial management is robustly explained by these two predictors, leaving a minimal 9.0% attributed to external confounding factors. In conclusion, while both elements are highly relevant, financial literacy acts as the most dominant, critical asset in mitigating fiscal distress and reshaping sustainable student financial behaviors.

Abstract

This study aims to empirically identify and analyze the influence of individual diversity on team performance at the Pagar Alam City Agriculture Office. In line with the demands of bureaucratic reform, understanding the heterogeneity of civil servants within the organizational structure of the public sector is crucial for improving service effectiveness. The research approach used is quantitative, employing an associative method. The population in this study comprises all 91 employees at the relevant agency, with the sample determined using a saturated sampling method (census). Primary data collection was conducted by distributing a structured Likert-scale questionnaire that had passed validity and reliability tests. Data analysis techniques included descriptive analysis, simple linear regression, Pearson’s correlation analysis, analysis of the coefficient of determination (R²), and a partial t-test, all performed using SPSS software. The results of the simple linear regression analysis yielded the equation Y = 6.212 + 0.388X. The t-test results showed a calculated t-value of 7.543, which was significantly greater than the critical t-value of 1.662 at a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.390 indicates that individual diversity contributes 39% to the variation in team performance, while the remainder is controlled by external variables. The findings of this study demonstrate that individual diversity has a positive and significant impact on team performance at the Pagar Alam City Department of Agriculture. Inclusive diversity management achieved through the optimization of intergenerational communication, gender equality, and the synergy of academic competencies has been shown to accelerate productivity in public-sector organizations.

Abstract

The availability of clean water is a fundamental need that must be continuously ensured. The Regional Drinking Water Company (Perumda) of Padang City utilizes centrifugal pumps to distribute water from the intake to the reservoir. However, decreased pump performance can lead to an imbalance between water supply capacity and demand. This study aims to analyze the performance of centrifugal pumps at the Gunung Pangilun Water Treatment Unit, particularly in terms of flow capacity, efficiency, and power consumption. The results show that the combined actual discharge of two pumps was 2250 m³/h, which is 24.24% lower than the specified capacity of 2970 m³/h. The average head was 42 meters with a discharge pressure of 4.2 bar. The pump efficiency decreased compared to the design condition due to flow losses and equipment aging factors. It can be concluded that the pump performance is still within an acceptable range but has experienced a decline in capacity and efficiency. Therefore, regular maintenance and system evaluation are required to improve operational performance and energy efficiency.

Abstract

High-achieving students are commonly associated with strong academic performance and timely graduation. However, not all academically successful students are able to complete their studies without obstacles. This study explores the experiences of an outstanding English as a Foreign Language (EFL) pre-service teacher who struggled to graduate on time despite her remarkable academic achievements. Employing narrative inquiry, this study investigates the participant’s lived experiences, focusing on the factors contributing to her delayed graduation. The findings reveal that financial difficulties, problematic academic supervision, and mental health challenges significantly influenced the participant’s demotivation and prolonged study completion. These challenges also affected her motivation, social life, academic productivity, and emotional well-being. Despite these obstacles, the participant gradually regained motivation through personal support systems and self-driven strategies. This study highlights that academic achievement does not necessarily protect students from educational and psychological struggles. The findings contribute to broader discussions on student well-being, academic support, and higher education completion among high-achieving EFL students.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low mathematics learning outcomes of Phase F students in the Office Management and Business Services program at SMKN 2 Padang. This study aimed to determine whether the mathematics learning outcomes of students taught using the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) model were better than those of students taught using conventional learning among Phase F MPLB students at SMKN 2 Padang. This research used a quasi experimental method with a randomized control group only posttest design. The population consisted of all Phase F MPLB students at SMKN 2 Padang in the 2025/2026 academic year. The sample was selected through random sampling after normality and homogeneity tests were conducted. The experimental class was taught using the RME model, while the control class was taught using conventional learning.Data were collected through a posttest and analyzed statistically. The Liliefors test showed that both data groups were normally distributed, with L_count for MPLB 2 = 0.143 < L_table = 0.161 and Lcount for MPLB 3 = 0.122 < L_table = 0.157. The Bartlett test showed that both groups were homogeneous, with χ²_count = 1.328 < χ²_table = 3.481. Hypothesis testing using the independent sample t-test obtained t_count = 3.91 > t_table = 1.67 at α = 0.05 with df = 59. Therefore, H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the mathematics learning outcomes of students taught using the RME model were significantly better than those of students taught using conventional learning.
