Journal of Community Service for the Indonesian Society is a peer-reviewed journal published by Berlian Pustaka Indonesia. At the national level, many cover general issues or issues related to community service. Publishing this journal aims to disseminate conceptual thoughts or ideas and research results that have been achieved in the field of community service. Journal of Community Service for the Indonesian Society, publishes the results of service articles consistently. The Indonesian Community Service Journal publishes a new edition twice a year. The Indonesian Community Service Journal has published both a printed (book) and an electronic (PDF) version. The Journal of Community Service for the Indonesian Society accepts rigorous articles that have never been offered for publication elsewhere. The Indonesian Community Service Journal focuses on issues related to social humanities that are relevant to the development of theory and practice in Indonesia and Southeast Asia in particular and also in the world. Abstract

Community service activities aim to significantly improve literacy and numeracy in learning activities and increase community income. This community service is a mentoring activity carried out by students through literacy and numeracy schemes in elementary schools. This activity was carried out for 21 days, starting from August 11, 2022 – August 31, 2022. Community service has a goal, namely to provide experience for students to be directly involved in implementing the learning process at school. The method used in the implementation of this Independent Real Work Lecture is the method of observation, interviews and documentation. Activities carried out by students with assistance include: (1) introduction in the village; (2) introduction to the scope of the school; (3) support the class in the development of literacy and numeracy learning; (4) assisting the community to increase income derived from oil palm fronds. Service activities carried out by students through community service assistance with literacy and numeracy program schemes as well as helping the community have been running well, efficiently, effectively and maximally. The results of this study after doing research that the interest of students in literacy and numeracy factors is good with the implementation of learning outside the classroom while playing and the income function of the community has also increased from the use of palm oil sticks which are used in making various kinds of handicraft products that have functional values.

Abstract

Education is very important today, especially moral development. Problems often occur in social life. Especially social issues. This research focuses on social problems, namely education, spiritual attitudes, and the environment which are difficult to solve if there is no awareness, interest, and enthusiasm from within each individual. Education has become a necessity for everyone, especially for those with high aspirations. Education is all-encompassing, as well as its impact on life. For this reason, this research was conducted which aims to increase children's interest in learning, instill spiritual values ​​in children, and build public awareness of environmental sustainability. This study uses a qualitative method by using direct interviews with several parties concerned about the problems being experienced in Manunggal Village. The subjects used were children and the surrounding community related to where the research was conducted. Data was collected by conducting interviews, analysis, and observation. The results showed that there was an increase between scores before attending tutoring and after attending tutoring due to an increase in interest in learning based on pre-study results which showed that not all children showed improvement, but these children gave their best efforts even though the results were not optimal, there were changes. children's attitudes and ways of thinking about religion and decency.

Abstract

This research aims tocommunity members are more aware of child protection and are motivated to improve their standard of living by continuing their education to a higher level. The average knowledge of the community about the law is still low. Especially regarding the law on child protection, some don't even know anything about it. Many children are treated poorly, for example, children aged 6 years have worked hard to earn money. The number of cases of children being targeted or victims of crime is a very worrying problem for many parties. Violence against children also often occurs, where all forms of violence and exploitation of children will have a negative impact on physical and mental health that can interfere with the growth and development of children. This is also influenced by the lack of public knowledge about the importance of education and child protection. The data analysis used in this research is a field study, which is carried out using a direct survey method in Perbarakan Village, Pagar Merbau District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra and library research which is carried out in two ways, namely (1 ) Offline; namely collecting library research data directly in the library (both inside and outside the University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra campus) in order to collect secondary data needed in research. (2) Online; namely library research which is carried out by searching through internet media in order to collect secondary data needed in research.

Abstract

This research uses qualitative research. Which is where this qualitative research is descriptive using qualitative data analysis so that it becomes an easy-to-understand data exposure. In this KKN activity in 2022, PGSD UMSU carried out KKN activities still independently, even though the pandemic had reduced and all communities in each region had carried out many vaccination activities to prevent the transmission of COVID-19, but the COVID-19 Virus is still around us, Therefore, UMSU students are encouraged to carry out community service activities in their respective areas of residence in order to avoid the development of the COVID-19 virus. With the latest situation after more than three years of limited activities, now it has started to return to normal as usual and has started to carry out various kinds of activities such as face-to-face schools, tourist attractions and shopping centers have resumed operations, and various other activities. However, the level of public awareness in Denai Lama Village is low on the cleanliness and goodness of the environment in which they live. Therefore, UMSU KKN students came to carry out Independent Community Service activities in the Denai Lama Village environment with the aim of sharing the knowledge they got while in college, as well as helping the community's motivation to increase the value of community self-awareness in Denai Lama Village towards the goodness of their living environment. Abstract

This service is carried out in Si lebo-lebo Village using a qualitative approach. This study uses a qualitative approach as an approach or search to explore and understand a central phenomenon. The results of qualitative research in the realm of education are descriptive. The research subjects used in this study were several students in Si lebo-lebo Village. The sample collection technique used is sample random sampling, which means that each member of the population has the same opportunity and opportunity to become the research sample. Children must be accustomed to doing other positive things to distract children from playing cellphones. One of the things that can be done is with tutoring, unfortunately children are now reluctant to learn, because they are addicted to gadgets. Therefore, by holding tutoring in the village, the children can reduce their screen time, besides that the children also become socialized with other children. It's just that the learning supervisors have to look for new innovations to be able to survive and be able to continue to divert children to remember the games that are on the device. Parents must also play an important role in the success of the program to reduce screentime in children. This program was created with the aim of reducing the percentage of children's addiction to playing cellphones. It's just that the learning supervisors have to look for new innovations to be able to survive and be able to continue to divert children to remember the games that are on the device. Abstract

Citizenship culture is a culture that is the foundation of citizenship whose contents are about a set of ideas that can be realized effectively for cultural reception whose purpose is to form citizen identities here. Citizenship culture is very important for developing civics education. This is due to forming citizen identities, especially in the millennial generation where the identity in question is their identity as Indonesian citizens. Through Civics learning which already contains elements of civic culture, of course, the millennial generation will be able to think critically, rationally and creatively to examine various citizenship issues and actively contribute to various community and state activities. The real form resulting from the reactualization of civic culture is the establishment of learning in the form of anti-corruption education. Besides that, it is hoped that the characters of the younger generation will grow and develop positively and democratically in order to be able to compete with other nations without forgetting national identity with elements of technological development in it.

Abstract

This article discusses training and the introduction of modified physical education and sports media for teachers in sports education subjects, while this training was conducted in Tembung Village, Precut Sei Tuan District, in the training process the author found several problems before conducting the training, including several problems there are still teachers who often carry out learning processes that tend to be monotonous, so that students tend to feel bored doing learning in the classroom. The training method used is lectures, then the techniques in the data collection process are supported by descriptive quantitative methods where the process of implementation is carried out by presenting the data that has been analyzed. Then after the training the results were found that the teachers were much more successful and could interpret the training and learning process more pleasantly, meaning that the teachers understood much better how to modify good learning, so that the learning process was much more enjoyable.

Abstract

This community service aims to obtain information regarding obstacles during the teaching and learning process in the network during the Covid-19 pandemic. This activity also aimed to reveal the effectiveness of study assistance by Community Service Teams of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara. The study in this activity uses the action research method to obtain information about the constraints and consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic for students and parents during the learning process with courage. The objects of this community service activity are school children who are supported in their natural learning process. Obstacles that occur in the subject of community service activities, namely mastery over the use of technology, which tends to be low due to the high cost of using or purchasing internet packages, besides that the subject has difficulty interacting directly with teachers and colleagues plus the assignments from the teacher are so many that it confuses students. The study results show that home visit learning can help students in their learning activities. Learning assistance is carried out openly by the research team. Abstract

This article or writing aims to find out how the campus policy is teaching through the independent campus program at Medan State University. As is well known, the teaching campus is one of the public policy products proclaimed by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs, Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture. This program aims to provide opportunities for students to be able to hone leadership, character and have teaching and learning experiences. This journal writing uses a research method, namely a qualitative descriptive method. In this study, primary data was obtained directly from students through observation and interviews at the research location that was used as the sample, namely at UNIMED Jalan Jl. Williem Iskandar Pasar V Medan Estate, Kec. Percut Sei Tuan, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra 20371. Data collection techniques in this study were library research and field studies. This study concludes that the evaluation criteria have been met, but there are also those that have not been fully achieved. However, most of the results of the research that has been conducted show that the evaluation criteria for each indicator have been met, this indicates that the evolution of the campus teaching program provides good results at least for now.
