Abstract

Immunization is a preventive measure used to protect against Tuberculosis, Diphtheria, Pertussis, Polio, Hepatitis B, and Measles. Immunization administration must be continuous, comprehensive, and conducted according to standards to provide effective health protection. The objective of this study was to determine the correlation between paternal support and the immunization status of children aged 0 to 1 year in the Tamban Baru Community hEalth Center area, Kapuas Regency. This study used a cross-sectional correlation design. The independent variable was paternal support, and the dependent variable was immunization status. The sample was selected using total sampling technique, consisting of 50 respondents. Data collection was performed using a questionnaire. The results showed a significant correlation between paternal support and the immunization status of children aged 0 to 1 year, indicated by p = 0.000017 < 0.005; thus, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) accepted. This means that there is a correlation between paternal support and the immunization status of children aged 0 to 1 year. It is recommended that that cross-sector collaboration and Community Health Center authorities enhance efforts so that every immunization officer provides health education, such as counseling about immunization, and that family involvement in spreading immunization programs is increased to achieve targeted coverage through cooperation with health professionals.

Abstract

The safety of student practicum activities in nursing laboratories is an important aspect of supporting a safe and effective learning process because laboratories have various potential hazards, such as injuries caused by practicum equipment, chemical exposure, electrical hazards, and inadequate safety facilities. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of risk mitigation systems for student practicum safety in nursing laboratories through a literature review method. The study used the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) approach. Article searches were conducted through Google Scholar, Proquest, and Cambridge databases using keywords related to laboratory safety, risk mitigation, occupational health and safety, and nursing laboratories. The inclusion criteria included research articles published between 2021–2026, written in Indonesian or English, and available in full text. The selection process resulted in 5 articles that met the criteria for analysis. The results of the literature review showed that laboratory practicum risks included injuries from sharp objects, burns, electric shocks, chemical exposure, and inadequate safety facilities such as fire extinguishers and ventilation systems. Risk mitigation implementation was carried out through risk identification, use of personal protective equipment, safety standard operating procedures, occupational health and safety training, and practicum supervision. The implementation of an optimal risk mitigation system can improve student safety and minimize work accidents in nursing laboratories.

Abstract

Critically ill patients treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) often experience prolonged immobilization, which can affect the stability of their oxygen saturation status. One nursing intervention that can be performed to help maintain the stability of the patient's condition is level I progressive mobilization. This study aims to determine the effect of level I progressive mobilization on the oxygen saturation status of critically ill patients. The method used was a literature review by examining several scientific articles using the PRISMA method obtained from databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar, J-Stage, SpringerLink, and ResearchGate for the period 2019-2025. The selected journal articles were studies related to progressive mobilization in critically ill patients in the ICU. Various research articles showed that level I progressive mobilization had a positive impact on patients' oxygen saturation status. Discussion: several studies reported an increase or stabilization in oxygen saturation, blood pressure, heart rate, and respiratory rate after mobilization. Level I progressive mobilization can be one of the nursing interventions that support the stability of critical patients in the ICU. Further research is still needed to strengthen the scientific evidence regarding the effectiveness of this intervention.
