Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the thoughts of Jasser Auda regarding Maqashid Sharia (the objectives of Islamic law) and their implications for the development of Sharia Economic Law in Indonesia. Theoretical framework: As the discourse of Ushul al-Fiqh (Islamic legal theory) continues to undergo contextual reform, the relevance of Maqashid Sharia as a fundamental framework for implementing Islamic law becomes increasingly significant. Jasser Auda offers a paradigm shift by introducing a systems-based approach that reconceptualizes the five classical dimensions of Maqashid into a dynamic and holistic framework. His approach moves away from rigid textualism and towards the realization of values and outcomes that reflect the spirit of Sharia in contemporary contexts. Literature review: The literature review highlights how Auda's model diverges from classical methodologies by focusing on interconnectedness, purposefulness, and context sensitivity. Methods: The research is grounded in a qualitative descriptive methodology. Data were collected from relevant literature, policy documents, and scholarly interpretations of Auda's work. The theoretical framework centers on systems theory, epistemological transformation, and the functional role of Maqashid in legal reform. Results: The findings demonstrate that Jasser Auda’s theory of Maqashid Sharia is highly applicable in revitalizing the role of Islamic law in the contemporary economic domain. In the case of Indonesia, where Sharia economic law is rapidly evolving, Auda’s framework provides an adaptive and value-driven model that supports legal dynamism without compromising foundational principles. Implications: His model also offers practical implications for policy-making, Islamic finance regulation, and economic justice. Novelty: The study contributes novelty by bridging classical Islamic legal philosophy with contemporary legal needs through the lens of systems thinking. This synthesis enhances the responsiveness of Sharia Economic Law to modern challenges and aligns legal goals with the ethical aspirations of Islam.

Abstract

Objective: Identify and interpret the ethical values contained in Surah Al-Hujurat verses 6–12 and analyze their application in daily life and broader social structures. Theoretical framework: A theoretical framework based on Islamic social ethics sourced from the Qur'an, especially the values of information verification (tabayyun), justice in conflict resolution, brotherhood, and prohibition of ridicule, prejudice, and ghibah. Literature review: A literature study that includes the Qur'an, classical and contemporary commentaries, and modern social science literature that addresses ethical and communication challenges in today's Muslim society. Methods: Qualitative research with a thematic interpretation approach (tafsīr maudhū'ī) combined with contextual-sociological analysis, with data collected through literature studies. Results: It was found that the ethical values in Surah Al-Hujurat are not only normative but also highly relevant and applicable in the context of today's digital and multicultural society. The five main values identified are: information verification, conflict resolution, social solidarity, respect for human dignity, and prejudice control. Implication: This study recommends the integration of these Qur'anic ethical values into character education, social policy, and ethical communication practices in society. Novelty: The novelty of this study lies in the contextual analysis of the application of social ethical values in Surah Al-Hujurat in contemporary digital and multicultural societies, an approach that is rarely discussed in the study of social interpretation in depth.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to critically reimagine human performance evaluation in the emerging context of Industry 5.0, which emphasizes human-centricity, sustainability, and societal value over mere productivity metrics. Traditional evaluation systems—rooted in Industry 3.0 and 4.0—have prioritized efficiency, control, and standardized outputs. Theoretical framework: However, such frameworks often neglect employee well-being, creativity, and holistic growth. Drawing upon Human-Centered Design Theory and Socio-Technical Systems Theory, this research proposes a paradigm shift toward a more inclusive and developmental model of appraisal. Literature review: A comprehensive literature review reveals major limitations in conventional performance appraisal systems, including inherent bias, infrequent feedback, rigid ranking mechanisms, and a narrow focus on quantitative metrics. These shortcomings clash with the core values of Industry 5.0, where technology is meant to serve—not replace—human potential. The review further highlights emerging best practices that integrate empathy, personalization, and AI-enhanced feedback loops. Methods: This research adopts a qualitative methodology, including semi-structured interviews with HR professionals, organizational psychologists, and digital transformation leaders across diverse industries. Content analysis is applied to uncover themes and insights related to current challenges and future possibilities in performance evaluation. Results: Findings suggest that performance systems aligned with Industry 5.0 should prioritize continuous feedback, psychological safety, and individualized development pathways. Additionally, AI and data analytics are found to be powerful enablers for real-time insights, yet their implementation requires careful ethical consideration and transparency. The shift also demands a redefinition of HR competencies to balance technological fluency with emotional intelligence. Implications: The study's implications are significant for organizational design, talent management, and leadership development. By moving from a "control and correct" approach to an "empower and grow" model, organizations can cultivate more agile, innovative, and resilient workforces. Novelty: The novelty of this research lies in its integration of human-centered theory with digital capabilities to offer a practical and future-ready framework for performance evaluation.

Abstract

Objective: This study explores and seeks to understand the motivations behind stakeholder involvement in the implementation of an educational program called CERDAS (Percepatan Rehabilitasi dan Apresiasi Sekolah). Each stakeholder holds different orientations but is confronted with similar challenges. Therefore, it is compelling to critically examine the motivations underlying each stakeholder's behavior. Theoretical framework:   The theoretical framework employed in this research is the relational values theory by Murphy and Stott, which includes instrumental, integrative, intrinsic, and extrinsic values. These relational values serve to explain the motivations of the stakeholders involved. Literature review: The literature review is grounded in governance theory, which emphasizes the necessity of joint governance. This perspective is particularly relevant in examining stakeholder motivations within collaborative efforts. Methods: This study uses a qualitative approach with datacollection techniques in the  form  of  observation,  in-depth  interviews,  and  documentation. Results: The findings reveal that collaboration can be sustained when stakeholders’ relational values are aligned and configured toward a shared goal. Each stakeholder brings distinct relational values to the collaboration. Implications: This study suggest that the success and sustainability of local collaboration in education is highly dependent on the alignment of relational values between stakeholders with different motivations. Novelty: The novelty of this study on local collaboration lies in its focus on uncovering the motivations of all stakeholders involved.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by a food chain tower diorama in enhancing the creative thinking abilities of fifth-grade students in the Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subject at SDN Kalicari 02 Semarang. Theoretical framework: Theoretically, creative thinking is an essential 21st-century skill that allows students to generate innovative ideas and solutions. PBL provides a contextual, student-centered framework that promotes active inquiry, collaboration, and higher-order thinking. Literature review: Previous research has shown that PBL models, when integrated with visual learning media, can significantly improve learning outcomes and student engagement. Methods: This study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 27 fifth-grade students. The research instrument was a set of 10 open-ended essay questions that had passed tests of validity, reliability, difficulty level, and discrimination index. Data were collected through pretest and posttest assessments to measure students' creative thinking abilities before and after the intervention. Results: The results demonstrated a significant improvement in student performance. The average pretest score of 72.78 increased to 87.22 in the posttest. A paired sample t-test revealed a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating a statistically significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. Moreover, the N-Gain score averaged 0.5434 (54.34%), which falls into the moderate category, suggesting that the learning intervention was effective in improving creative thinking skills. Implications: The findings imply that the combination of the PBL model with diorama media provides a powerful tool for stimulating creativity in primary school students, particularly in understanding abstract scientific concepts such as food chains. Novelty: This study’s novelty lies in the integration of a concrete visual diorama with problem-based instruction in the IPAS context, which has been less explored in elementary education research. It serves as a reference for teachers seeking innovative strategies to foster creativity through contextual and student-centered learning.
