Abstract

Objective: The importance of digital transformation in public bureaucracy to improve the quality of fast, transparent, and participatory services. This study aims to analyze the level of public satisfaction with public services at the Medan Baru Sub-district Office through the use of digital forms as the main instrument for measuring the Public Satisfaction Index (IKM) during the period 2022 to 2024. Theoretical framework: The theoretical framework in this study is based on the concept of public service, measuring the Public Satisfaction Index (IKM), and the use of digital technology as a form of transformation of responsive and participatory service governance. Literature review: Public Satisfaction Index (IKM), Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Digitalization of Public Services. Methods: This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach with a survey technique through a digital form (Google Form) distributed to service users. The data collected is analyzed to see the trend of changes in IKM values and identify factors driving the increase or obstacles faced in service. Results: The results of the study show a positive trend in the average IKM from year to year, namely 3.45 in 2022, increasing to 3.60 in 2023, and reaching 3.72 in 2024, all of which are in the "Very Good" category. This increase was driven by improvements in service speed, ease of digital procedures, quality of officers, and strengthening of facilities and infrastructure that are responsive to community aspirations. However, there are still some notes for improvement such as limited supporting facilities and the need for further digital innovation. Implications: This study provides a practical contribution for sub-district-level policymakers in designing more adaptive service strategies based on community needs, and opens up space for further research related to sustainable technology-based public performance measurement. Novelty: This finding is reinforced by the theory of digital public services and the principles of good governance, and shows that community participation and bureaucratic responsiveness play an important role in increasing satisfaction.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the childfree phenomenon from the perspective of Emile Durkheim's sociology and the view of the Qur'an, to understand the dynamics of social and religious values in Indonesian society. Theoretical framework: The theoretical framework refers to Durkheim's concepts such as social facts, organic solidarity, anomie, and collective morality, as well as classical and contemporary interpretations of the Qur'an on the value of heredity in Islam. Literature review: The literature review includes Durkheim's theory of social transformation and the mufasir's interpretation of the importance of heredity in Islam, both from classical (At-Thabari, Al-Qurtubi) and modern (Al-Misbah, Al-Azhar) interpretations. Method: This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study approach. Data were collected from literary sources such as the works of Emile Durkheim and classical and contemporary interpretations of the Qur'an. The analysis was carried out interpretively to understand the social and religious meaning of the childfree phenomenon in the context of Indonesian society. Results: The phenomenon of childfree reflects a change in values in modern society according to Durkheim, while in Islam heredity is considered a mandate and part of worship, as affirmed in various interpretations. Implications: The childfree phenomenon needs to be understood as a reflection of social and spiritual change, which demands an integrative approach between individual freedom and collective values. Novelty: This research is unique in that it combines sociological and theological analysis in examining the issue of child freedom, offering a cross-disciplinary perspective that is relevant to the context of Indonesian society.

Abstract

Objective: This study explores the obstacles and opportunities in applying digital technology in government financial management in the Medan Amplas sub-district. Theoretical framework: This study refers to the theory of technology adoption, especially the TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) model, which explains the factors that influence the acceptance of technology by users. Literature review: Digital Transformation in Local Government, Financial Management in Local Bureaucracy. Methods: This study uses a qualitative research approach with field observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and document analysis to collect data from sub-district officials and the community. Results: This study shows that the main challenges in digital transformation are the decline in budget commitment to the digitalization sector, which has the potential to hinder the improvement of the quality of digital services at the sub-district level, and the limitations of technological infrastructure. However, some solutions that can be applied include increasing digital training for government staff, providing better infrastructure, and integrating financial management systems with more user-friendly digital platforms. Implications: The importance of sustainable fiscal support as a prerequisite for the success of digital transformation at the local level, and the importance of policies that support the development of digital skills of government officials and investment in adequate technological infrastructure to support the success of digital transformation. Novelty: This research is based on a contextual analysis of the implementation of digital transformation at the sub-district level, which is still rarely done in government financial management studies in Indonesia.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to criticize the interpretation of the phenomenon of Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) in the scientific work of students of Qur'an and Tafsir in Indonesia, focusing on the suitability of the interpretation method used, the relevance of the verses of the Qur'an as a solution, and the contribution of interpretation to the challenges of modern digital life. Theoretical framework: This study departs from the understanding that the FoMO phenomenon is not only a psychological problem, but can also be studied through a spiritual-religious approach in the Qur'an, so it is necessary to have an interpretive framework that can respond to contemporary issues. Literature review: This study highlights the limitations of the literature linking psychological phenomena such as FoMO with the study of interpretation, as well as the importance of a cross-disciplinary approach in presenting solutions based on Qur'anic values to modern digital issues. Method: This study uses a content analysis method on various scientific works that have been published by students, especially those who try to interpret FoMO through the Qur'an interpretation approach. Results: show that despite attempts to link FoMO to the teachings of the Qur'an, most scientific works have not fully succeeded in selecting relevant verses and understanding the social context of the phenomenon in depth. Implications: from these findings is the importance of updating the approach in the study of interpretation, by integrating psychological and sociological perspectives to produce a more contextual and applicative interpretation. Novelty: lies in his attempt to criticize and recommend a multidisciplinary approach to the interpretation of the Qur'an to modern psychological phenomena, thus opening up space for the development of interpretive studies that are more relevant to the realities of contemporary life.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to analyze consumer protection against the circulation of Antiq brand cast metal products based on Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection, as well as to review from the perspective of sharia economic law. Theoretical framework: this includes consumer protection theory in Indonesian positive law as well as the principles of justice and transparency in sharia economic law. Literature review: includes consumer protection regulations, legal theories of Islamic economics, as well as previous studies related to trade practices and the protection of consumer rights. Method: applied in this study is a qualitative method with a case study approach on Antiq cast metal products, where data is obtained through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. Results: the results of the study show that there is a discrepancy between the marketing practices of Antiq products and the provisions of the Consumer Protection Law, especially regarding the consumer's right to correct and safe information. From the point of view of sharia economic law, the practice also does not fully reflect the principles of fairness and openness in transactions. Implications: These findings affirm the importance of increasing transparency of product information and compliance with sharia principles in business, to ensure the protection of consumer rights across the board. The novelty: of this study lies in the simultaneous incorporation of positive legal analysis and Islamic economic law in examining consumer protection of cast metal industry products, an approach that is still rarely done in the context of similar research.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze strategic frameworks for developing a future-oriented Islamic civilization in two Muslim-majority Southeast Asian countries: Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam. The primary objective is to identify both the supporting and inhibiting factors and to propose constructive and contextually relevant approaches to shaping a competitive, just, and sustainable Islamic civilization. Theoretical framework: The theoretical framework of this study draws from the concepts of Islamic civilization (ḥaḍārah Islāmiyyah), maqāṣid al-sharīʿah, and sociopolitical integration in Islamic governance. Literature review: The literature review includes works on Islamic renewal, moderate Islam (Islam wasathi), and Southeast Asian Islamic thought, highlighting prior research on Indonesia’s pluralistic religious landscape and Brunei’s state-centric Islamic model. Methods: This research employs a qualitative-descriptive method with a library research approach and comparative analysis. Data were collected from official government documents, scholarly journals, authoritative books, and international reports. Thematic analysis was applied to compare the socio-political and religious dynamics of Islamic civilization development in Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam. Result: Findings indicate that Indonesia demonstrates strengths in pluralism and civil society participation through mass organizations such as Nahdlatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah, promoting moderate and inclusive Islamic values. In contrast, Brunei exemplifies a centralized model of Islamic governance rooted in the Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB) ideology, ensuring consistency in state-Islam integration. Both countries share common challenges including radicalism, weakened youth identity, and the pressures of global secular trends. Implications: The study’s implications highlight the need for regional collaboration in Islamic education and Shariah-based economic initiatives. Novelty: The novelty of this research lies in its strategic formulation of a civilizational framework that combines spiritual, structural, and technological dimensions, rooted in moderate Islamic values. This integrated model serves as a roadmap for sustainable Islamic civilization in the modern world.
