Abstract

Stress and anxiety are increasing mental health problems and can have a negative impact on an individual's physical and psychological well-being. Traditional yoga and meditation, including Yoga DHSP Bali, are known as holistic approaches that have the potential to help with stress and anxiety control. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the effect of DHSP Bali Traditional Yoga and Meditation practice on participants' stress and anxiety levels. This study used a pretest-posttest design involving 31 respondents. The intervention in the form of DHSP Bali Yoga practice was carried out for 4 weeks with a frequency of at least 3 times per week. Measurements of levels of depression, anxiety, and stress were carried out using the DASS-42 questionnaire. The results showed an increase in the number of respondents in the normal category and a decrease in the mild to severe category in all dimensions of DASS-42 (depression, anxiety, and stress) after the intervention. A comparison of pretest and posttest scores indicated a decrease in the severity of participants' psychological symptoms. DHSP Bali Traditional Yoga and Meditation Practice is effective in lowering stress and anxiety levels, and has the potential to be a safe and beneficial non-pharmacological complementary therapy in mental health management.

Abstract

The rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into language learning management systems has transformed pedagogical practices through its personalization, efficiency, and adaptive feedback. Nevertheless, this transformation raises significant ethical concerns that demand critical scholarly attention. This study presents a systematic literature review examining the ethical dimensions of AI implementation in language learning management, titled Ethical Aspects of AI in Language Learning Management: A Literature Review. The review focuses particularly on data privacy and security, algorithmic bias, transparency, accountability, learner autonomy, and the evolving roles of educators and learners. It synthesizes findings from major academic databases, including Scopus, Web of Science, and ERIC, in accordance with PRISMA guidelines, drawing on peer-reviewed studies published between 2013 and 2023. The findings indicate that while AI demonstrates considerable pedagogical potential, its unregulated implementation may intensify educational disparities, compromise academic integrity, diminish human interaction, and erode critical thinking skills. Scholars increasingly agree on the urgent need for comprehensive ethical frameworks, AI literacy development, and multi-stakeholder governance to ensure responsible and equitable AI integration in language education. This review makes a significant contribution to the field by mapping dominant ethical challenges, identifying research gaps, and proposing directions for future empirical studies and policy development. Ultimately, the study posits that ethical foresight and human-centered design must remain central to AI-enhanced language learning to preserve the humanistic foundations of language education.

Abstract

The nexus between educational, research and development expenditures and economic growth represents a salient principal point within the practical realm of empirical investigations. This paper focuses on the long- and short-run relationship between government expenditure in education, research and development and economic growth in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries from 1998-2021. Using panel autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) models, the result confirms that government education expenditure (EDE) is positively associated with economic growth in the long run as well as in the short run. Furthermore, research and development (R & D) is positively significant in the long run; however, it is insignificant in the short run with economic growth. The policy implications of the result highlight the importance of sustained investment in education, research and development to advance economic growth. Policymakers should adopt a balanced and forward-looking approach, recognising the significance of these investments for both short-term and long-term economic prosperity.

Abstract

The evaluation of higher education quality requires active participation from all stakeholders, particularly alumni and employers. This research investigates the degree of satisfaction and feedback from alumni and stakeholders in five municipalities (Aileu, Baucau, Ermera, Manatuto, and Liquiça) regarding the Political Science Department of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Politics (FCSP) at the National University Timor Lorosa'e (UNTL). Using a qualitative and descriptive approach with semi-structured interviews, the study collected perceptions from 27 alumni and 21 employers about course relevance, training quality, and labor market applicability. Results indicate that 93% of alumni worked in the public sector, with 93% reporting that their training significantly contributed to professional performance. Alumni satisfaction was high, with 81% very satisfied and 15% satisfied with the course. Employers confirmed that Political Science graduates demonstrated strong adaptation abilities and rule compliance in the workplace. The study recommends infrastructure improvements, continuing education programs, and enhanced training in political science and citizenship to maintain the department's relevance in developing future leaders for Timor-Leste.

Abstract

This study examines the dualism of the pastoral and social existence of the Catholic Church from the perspective of state administrative law, focusing on the Regulation of the Minister of Religion (PMA) Number 13 of 2025. This PMA regulates the Catholic religious legal body, distinguishing between pastoral work of an internal-spiritual nature and social work of a public-administrative nature. Normative analysis was carried out to assess the consistency of PMA with higher laws and regulations, such as the 1945 Constitution and the Government Administration Law. The results of the study show that PMA 13/2025 gives discretionary authority to the Minister of Religion and the Director General of Catholic Guidance, but it needs to be balanced with legal principles such as legality, justice, accountability, and transparency to prevent abuse of authority. This study recommends the proper implementation of these legal principles to improve the quality of government and the welfare of the community.

Abstract

Commitment to the organization is a key factor in determining the success of an organization because it is directly related to loyalty, performance, and the sustainability of human power sources. However, in practice, there are still many organizations that face the problem of low employee commitment, which is marked by low loyalty, a lack of sense of responsibility, and an increasing desire to change jobs. This research aims to formulate improvement strategies for organizational commitment through strengthening leadership authenticity, integrity, teamwork, and trust. The research method used in this study is a quantitative method. Data collection in this study was done through a field survey. The data analysis method in this study uses path analysis and SITOREM analysis (Scientific Identification Theory to Conduct Research, Operation Research in Education Management). The research results show that leadership authenticity, integrity, and teamwork have a positive and significant influence on organizational commitment, both directly and indirectly through trust. Therefore, trust is proven to play a role as an effective mediator in strengthening the influence of leadership authenticity, integrity, and teamwork towards organizational commitment.

Abstract

Digital transformation has emerged as a critical determinant for the sustainability of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), particularly within tourism-centric economies such as Bali Province. This study aims to empirically analyze the influence of Technology Absorptive Capacity and Digital Adoption on MSME Business Performance, incorporating Business Innovation as a mediating variable. Employing a quantitative approach, primary data were collected from 400 MSMEs in Bali selected via simple random sampling. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The findings reveal that both Technology Absorptive Capacity and Digital Adoption exert a positive and significant effect on Business Performance, both directly and indirectly through Business Innovation. Notably, Digital Adoption demonstrated the strongest direct impact on performance, while Business Innovation was confirmed as a partial mediator that enhances the effect of technological capabilities on business outcomes. This study concludes that enhancing MSME performance requires not only the adoption of digital tools but also the organizational capacity to absorb technology for creating adaptive product and business model innovations.

Abstract

Despite sustained regulatory efforts, child marriage remains highly prevalent in Musi Banyuasin Regency, particularly in Lais District, making it a critical context for assessing the effectiveness of child marriage prevention policies. In response to this issue, the Regency Government enacted a regulation aimed at reducing child marriage in Lais District; however, the outcomes of its implementation remain problematic. This study examines the implementation of the child marriage prevention policy in Lais District using a qualitative research design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that policy implementation has not yet been effective, despite the regulation being formally enacted. Key challenges include weak coordination among implementing actors, limited human resource capacity, social resistance, and the persistence of harmful socio-cultural practices. At the same time, positive initiatives have been undertaken by the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA), local communities, and village governments through education and socialization programs. Nevertheless, these efforts face significant constraints and have not yet produced substantial change. The study underscores the need for stronger community empowerment and increased public education on the negative consequences of early marriage. This research contributes to the literature on public policy implementation and provides practical insights for policymakers and community stakeholders seeking to strengthen child marriage prevention efforts.

Abstract

Background: Stroke remains the second leading cause of mortality worldwide and the primary contributor to long-term disability. The stress hyperglycemia, calculated as the fasting blood glucose (FBG)–HbA1c ratio, has been proposed as a marker reflecting acute metabolic imbalance relative to chronic glycemic status, with potential prognostic value in acute ischemic stroke. Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the association between the FBG–HbA1c ratio and functional independence as well as clinical outcomes in acute ischemic stroke patients. Methods: An analytical observational study employing a cross-sectional design was conducted at Dr. Zainoel Abidin General Hospital. Consecutive sampling was utilized to recruit patients with acute ischemic stroke who fulfilled the inclusion criteria. The FBG–HbA1c ratio was calculated and analyzed in relation to functional independence using the Barthel Index (BI) and clinical outcome using the Modified Rankin Scale (mRS). Pearson Product Moment Correlation test was used to determine the relationship between these variables. Results: A total of 61 patients were included. The FPG–HbA1c ratio demonstrated a significant negative correlation with the Barthel Index (R = –0.43; p = 0.04) and a significant positive correlation with the mRS (R = 0.508; p = 0.03). Conclusion: The FBG–HbA1c ratio showed significant correlations with both functional independence and clinical outcomes, indicating its potential as a simple and reliable prognostic marker. A higher ratio reflects greater stress-induced hyperglycemia, which is associated with poorer neurological function and outcomes in acute ischemic stroke patients
