Abstract

Native and Joper chickens are types of chickens whose meat is difficult to distinguish in terms of texture and color. The aim of this study is to develop an information system capable of detecting the type of chicken meat (native or Joper) based on image analysis using the Gray Level Co-Occurrence Matrix (GLCM) method combined with the K-Nearest Neighbour (K-NN) algorithm. In this research, 200 training data samples were used to extract color and texture features and perform calculations using five GLCM parameters (energy, entropy, homogeneity, contrast, and correlation) with four texture distribution directions: 0°, 45°, 90°, and 135°. Classification was then conducted to determine the type of chicken meat using the K-NN algorithm. The results of this study include a system capable of identifying chicken types based on meat, specifically distinguishing between Joper chicken meat and native chicken meat. The system consists of two main processes: calculating gray-level co-occurrence values and determining proximity using the K-Nearest Neighbor algorithm. Based on testing results, the system can perform detection using the GLCM and K-NN methods with an accuracy rate of 80%, as evaluated by 8 out of 10 respondents in this study.

Abstract

Advancements in wireless communication technology have enabled more efficient data transfer, but antenna selection remains a critical factor in determining the performance of communication systems. This study investigates and compares the performance of Yagi and Log-periodic antennas in enhancing 4G LTE network quality in the remote area of Kampung Wasur. Both antennas were designed, fabricated, and evaluated based on key network parameters, including Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI), Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP), Reference Signal Received Quality (RSRQ), and Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR). The antennas were developed to operate at a frequency of 2100 MHz and tested in locations with minimal signal coverage. Experimental results showed that the Yagi antenna significantly outperformed the Log-periodic antenna in improving signal strength (average RSRP of -94.33 dBm) and stability (average RSRQ of -9.17 dB). Conversely, the Log-periodic antenna demonstrated superior performance in low-noise environments, achieving an SNR of 15 dB. Analysis revealed that signal quality was influenced by interference, environmental conditions, and physical obstacles, particularly during midday to late afternoon periods. This study contributes to the development of cost-effective antenna prototypes that enhance communication quality in areas with limited infrastructure, providing a practical solution for remote regions. The findings emphasize the importance of optimizing antenna alignment for line-of-sight (LOS) communication, employing noise filters to minimize interference, and conducting broader testing in varied environments. The research has the potential to improve connectivity in underserved areas, fostering digital inclusion and supporting socioeconomic development.

Abstract

Drying remains one of the most critical post-harvest challenges in porang tuber processing. Traditional methods, which depend on sunlight and require large areas, are time-consuming and often inconsistent, leading to unstable production and reduced efficiency. This study proposes an Arduino microcontroller-based drying system equipped with a DHT11 sensor to optimize the process. The development followed the ADDIE framework analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation to ensure systematic outcomes. Experimental results show that the system effectively maintains controlled conditions. The DHT11 sensor accurately detected temperature in the range of 35–40°C and above, with real-time monitoring displayed on an LCD. Trials demonstrated that heating for less than four hours produced tubers that remained moist, while durations of four to eight hours yielded consistently dry tubers. These findings confirm the reliability of the system in accelerating drying while preserving product quality. Beyond technical efficiency, the system reduces dependency on unpredictable weather, minimizes post-harvest losses, and improves farmer productivity. Its affordability and scalability make it applicable for small to medium agribusinesses, while its adaptability opens opportunities for use with other commodities. Thus, this research contributes not only to technological innovation but also to sustainable agricultural practices and rural economic empowerment.

Abstract

Bali cattle are esteemed for their high-quality beef production; yet, the assessment of quality in practice sometimes lacks objectivity and consistency among farmers and traders. This subjectivity complicates purchasers' ability to ascertain equitable prices and heightens the danger of financial losses when the perceived quality diverges from the actual state of the meat. This paper offers an objective classification system for Bali beef quality via digital image processing via a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) implemented with TensorFlow.js. A dataset including 600 training photos and 150 testing images was employed. Experimental results indicate that the created system attains an accuracy of 94.67% on training data and 78% on test data. The technique can classify beef quality into three categories: fresh, slightly fresh, and rotten. The results underscore the capability of web-based CNN models to deliver precise, accessible, and instantaneous evaluations of meat quality. In addition to technological performance, the deployment of this system can greatly reduce market asymmetry, facilitate transparent pricing methods, and diminish customer losses. Furthermore, it provides an economical digital solution applicable in rural or small-scale agricultural settings, thereby enhancing local agribusiness practices and fostering technological adoption in the livestock industry.
