Abstract

This study aims to analyze technology-based family counseling strategies to increase the involvement of Generation Z parents in early childhood education. Generation Z, known as digital-natives, exhibits distinctive engagement patterns, relying on educational apps, online communication groups, and social media to monitor children's development, but faces challenges such as time management, digital fatigue, and misalignment of home parenting styles with school expectations. The research method used a descriptive qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation with 20 Gen Z parents at the Lubuk Linggau Early Childhood Education (PAUD) institution. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that family counseling strategies that integrate technology, time management training, and collaborative parent-teacher forums significantly increased parents' awareness, confidence, and skills in supporting children's learning, both at home and at school. This counseling is in line with Bowen's family systems theory which emphasizes the impact of behavioral changes on overall family dynamics, and Baumrind's democratic parenting theory which is in line with the values of freedom and dialogue held by Gen Z parents. These findings strengthen previous research on parental involvement, while offering a novelty in the form of an adaptive family counseling model that suits Generation Z's digital communication style. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of developing flexible, interactive, and technology-based family counseling programs to encourage ongoing parental involvement to support optimal early childhood development.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using Augmented Reality (AR)-based media through the Assemblr Edu application in improving the recognition of three-dimensional shapes among early childhood learners. The research method employed was Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis & McTaggart model, consisting of pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II. The research subjects were 20 children in group A (ages 4–5 years) at TK Sahabat Bekasi. The research instruments included a Lesson Plan, observation sheets, and interviews. The results showed an improvement in children’s understanding of three-dimensional shapes. In the pre-cycle stage, the average achievement was only 20.77%, which increased to 42.85% in cycle I, and reached 87.00% in cycle II, exceeding the success criterion of >80%. These findings demonstrate that the use of AR through the Assemblr Edu application can effectively enhance early childhood learners’ understanding of three-dimensional shapes in a more interactive and enjoyable way.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of student activity-oriented learning strategies in improving the quality of learning in the Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) program. The method used is classroom action research (CAR) which is implemented in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were PGSD students who took courses related to learning strategies. Data collection instruments included observation, interviews, motivational questionnaires, learning outcome tests, and documentation. The results showed a significant increase in student engagement, learning outcomes, and motivation. In the first cycle, active student participation in group discussions reached 62%, projects 58%, and presentations 58%, with an average score of 72 and classical completion of 70%. In the second cycle, there was an increase to 85% in discussions, 88% in projects, and 82% in presentations, with an average score of 82 and classical completion of 90%. Student motivation also increased, as indicated by the proportion of highly motivated students, which rose from 45% in cycle I to 78% in cycle II. Interviews and documentation showed that learning became more enjoyable, interactive, and collaborative. These findings align with constructivist and sociocultural theories, which emphasize the importance of active engagement in learning, and support previous studies on the effectiveness of active learning. Therefore, a student-oriented learning strategy can be an effective approach to improving the quality of learning in higher education, particularly in preparing PGSD students as independent, creative, and prepared elementary school teacher candidates to face the challenges of 21st-century education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of parenting styles on the emotional intelligence of Group B children at TK Sahabat Bekasi. A quantitative approach with a survey method was employed, involving 32 children and their parents selected through total sampling. Research instruments comprised Likert-scale questionnaires measuring three parenting styles (democratic, authoritarian, and permissive) and children’s emotional intelligence. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression with SPSS 22. The findings revealed that parenting styles significantly affect children’s emotional intelligence (R² = 0.374; p < 0.05). The highest contribution came from the democratic parenting style (3.7%), followed by permissive (3.17%) and authoritarian (2.72%). These results confirm that democratic parenting—characterized by open communication, guided freedom, and respect for children’s opinions—is more effective in supporting emotional intelligence development. The study highlights the importance of consistently applying democratic parenting and suggests that educators provide parental education on positive parenting strategies.

Abstract

This descriptive qualitative research aimed to determine the implementation and effectiveness of the Talaqqi Method in improving the ability of Group B children to memorize Juz' Amma at the Uwais Al Qorny Tahfidz Qur'an Kindergarten, Bekasi City. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, with validity tested using data triangulation and credibility checks. The research results indicate that Uwais Al Qorny Tahfidz Qur'an Kindergarten actively uses the Talaqqi Method and found it easy to implement and proven effective in boosting children's memorization skills due to its continuous and repetitive nature. While hindering factors included student health and attendance, the primary success factor for its implementation was the full support from the school administration and the parents. Overall, this study affirms that the Talaqqi Method is an appropriate approach for teaching Juz' Amma memorization to early childhood students.
