Abstract

The Qur'an was revealed as a rahmatan lil alamin (mercy to all creations) and a guide for harmonious living. Muslims believe it to be a holy scripture revealed to Prophet Muhammad to establish peace and harmony. However, in the modern era, this ideal often contrasts with reality, as seen in the case of differing determinations of the 1444 AH Eid al-Fitr celebration, which sparked social conflict. This study aims to analyze the role of the Qur'an as an instrument of harmonization from the perspective of religious moderation. The research employs a qualitative case study approach, focusing on the conflict in Bantul, Yogyakarta. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation, while data analysis involves reduction, presentation, and verification. The findings indicate a decline in values such as tolerance, empathy, and harmony among Muslims, driven by social jealousy and a lack of understanding of religious moderation. As a solution, this study recommends that the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) support research aligned with the Ministry of Religious Affairs' policies on religious moderation and emphasizes the importance of implementing these values to shape Muslims as ummatan wasatan (a middle and just nation).

Abstract

This study examines the geopolitical dynamics in the Arab region, focusing on factors such as regional conflicts, foreign intervention, leadership changes, and control over energy resources. Conflicts like the Syrian war, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and tensions in the Persian Gulf significantly shape regional stability. Foreign intervention, whether military or political, often escalates tensions, while leadership transitions and energy resource control, particularly oil, influence regional and global policies. These developments, widely disseminated through digital media, can impact the psychological state of Indonesian society, particularly when propaganda and biased narratives dominate media coverage. This study employs a case study approach combined with content analysis from digital media platforms and anxiety level measurements using psychological instruments such as the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), and Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAM-A). Findings reveal that media narratives significantly influence public perception, often amplifying collective anxiety and shaping opinions on geopolitical issues. Digital platforms play a key role in intensifying these effects by merging traditional and modern media channels. The study underscores the importance of media literacy education and public awareness programs to foster critical thinking and resilience against propaganda. These findings provide valuable insights into the intersection of media narratives, public psychology, and geopolitical events, offering recommendations for mitigating their societal impact

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of women's communication in stimulating microeconomic growth in the batik-producing area of Pekalongan. The research employs a qualitative field approach with a focus on public communication. Primary data were collected through interviews with female batik workers from home industries to factories, using snowball sampling to identify informants based on predefined indicators. The data were then filtered through the lens of development communication and documented accordingly. Data analysis followed the stages of data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that women play a significant role in improving the standard of living in Pekalongan. This is reflected in the regional income growth, which increased from 3.59% in 2021 to 5.76% in 2022. Women's participation takes various forms, such as selling batik through digital platforms, contributing to batik design and sewing, and sharing their skills with others in the community. These activities not only enhance their craftsmanship but also support household income and contribute to regional economic development. Additionally, informal knowledge-sharing among neighborhoods fosters financial independence and specialized skills among women. Overall, women's communication practices in the batik industry demonstrate strong potential in driving sustainable local economic empowerment.

Abstract

This study analyzes the form of da’wah innovation and its impact in the Sharing Time study titled “The Secret to Changing Destiny: Soulmate, Fortune, and Success.” The research is driven by the limited number of contemporary da’wah studies that explore humanist and contextual approaches in conveying religious messages in the digital era. Using a qualitative descriptive case study and supported by literature review, data were collected through observation and documentation, including articles, journals, and books as secondary sources. The findings reveal that Ustadz Hanan Attaki’s da’wah innovation goes beyond sharia and aqidah by delivering messages centered on truth, peace, and appreciation of differences. His communication style is both emotional and engaging, allowing him to connect with a diverse audience effectively. This approach represents a contextual, inclusive, and reflective model of da’wah suited to today’s digital society. The da’wah messages align with Abdul Basit's theory in Filsafat Dakwah, which emphasizes the elements of truth, peace, and respect for diversity. The study concludes that the Sharing Time content positively influences audiences by fostering acceptance and deeper understanding of Islamic values delivered in a relatable and reflective manner.

Abstract

Islamic guidance is a systematic effort to provide guidance and direction to individuals and groups in order to achieve happiness in this world and the hereafter, especially in matters of life. Among the approaches that are still relevant in the context of Islamic education to increase religiosity is through religious activities commonly carried out by the community, one of which is through tahlilan. The purpose of this study is to examine how Islamic guidance through tahlilan can have a positive impact, particularly in enhancing the religiosity of the community in Rowolaku village. Through interviews, observations, and documentation, it was found that Islamic guidance through tahlilan activities significantly increased the religiosity of the community, as evidenced by the increased level of community participation in tahlilan activities. Additionally, a spirit of mutual cooperation and solidarity among the community was also observed. Tahlilan, rooted in social group activities, has proven capable of inspiring positive activities in the spirit of worship. This study suggests further exploration and the use of more in-depth methods, such as quantitative approaches.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the psychosocial dynamics and adjustment processes of students with disabilities in Islamic higher education institutions, focusing on narratives of resilience and the spiritual meaning embodied in the concept of silent da’wah. Using a phenomenological approach and Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), data were collected through in-depth interviews with four students with physical and mental disabilities in Pekalongan. The findings reveal that students with disabilities face significant structural, social, and emotional challenges, yet they demonstrate strong resilience through Islamic values such as ṣabr (patience), ikhlāṣ (sincerity), and istiqāmah (steadfastness). Their adjustment journey follows stages from anxiety, self-acknowledgment, and social participation to meaningful contributions through altruism and adaptive conformity. These findings align with prior literature on the role of spiritual guidance in reconstructing happiness and the importance of faith in fostering subjective well-being. The study recommends enhancing inclusive campus support systems and integrating psychospritual approaches into disability services in higher education settings.

Abstract

Youth hold a central role in the advancement of civilization, yet they are highly susceptible to external influences, including moral decline and ideological threats. One of the pressing issues is the rise of transnational movements that diminish the value of nationalism, often portraying it as incompatible with religious belief. This article explores Mushtofa Al-Ghalayain’s thoughts on youth, Islamic preaching (da’wah), and nationalism as articulated in his work Idhatun Nasyi’in. Al-Ghalayain highlights wathaniyah (nationalism) as an essential quality for youth, asserting that love and service to the homeland are integral to faith. He positions youth as the main drivers of societal transformation and upholders of national dignity. The research employs a qualitative content analysis approach to examine how the text conveys moral, religious, and nationalistic values. Findings suggest that religion and nationalism are not opposing forces but are mutually reinforcing in shaping responsible, morally grounded citizens. Da’wah, therefore, must contribute not only to spiritual growth but also to the unity and integrity of the nation. This vision is reflected in the well-known maxim: "Hubbul wathan minal iman" (Love for the homeland is part of faith), reaffirming the harmony between Islamic values and national devotion.

Abstract

Code-switching is becoming increasingly prevalent among young people as a communication strategy that reflects contemporary social and cultural dynamics. Millennial Muslim preachers in Indonesia are also utilizing code-switching to convey their messages, particularly through the Instagram platform. This study aims to identify the code-switching models used by millennial Muslim preachers from a grammatical perspective. Data was collected from the Instagram accounts @hanan_attaki, @syam_elmarusy, @husein_hadar, @adihidayatofficial, and @kohdennislim using purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using a grammatical approach in code-switching studies. The results of the study indicate that the types of code-switching used include inter-sentential, intra-sentential, extra-sentential, single-word, and word-internal code-switching. Each account shows different patterns of use, with some displaying only one type and others displaying a combination of several types of code-switching. These findings indicate a high degree of linguistic adaptability among preachers in tailoring religious messages to the characteristics of a young audience. In conclusion, code-switching variation serves as an effective strategy in bridging social gaps and enhancing the connectivity of religious messages in digital media.

Abstract

This research discusses the theological approach in Laesan Lasem art with a qualitative method of text study. The purpose of this research is to explore information about the theological elements and theological flow in Laesan Lasem art in relation to Islamic theology. The results showed that Laesan Lasem art has content that has a deep philosophical meaning and contains theological elements in it. There are at least two elements of Islamic theology in Laesan Lasem art, namely about God and humans. The discussion of God contains faith in Allah and the Messenger and also implies the attributes of God. The discussion about humans relates to how humans get closer to God and the position of humans before God and humans. The description of the elements of theology in Laesan Lasem art includes three important points; faith, charity, and freedom of will. These three points have the same understanding as the Ash'ariyah school. The theological approach to Laesan can show that art is not only a cultural expression, but can also be a contextual and effective medium of da'wah. Through this approach, Laesan is not only maintained as a cultural heritage, but also empowered to convey Islamic values beautifully and down to earth.
