Abstract

Domestic violence (KDRT) is very complex violence and requires comprehensive treatment, and most of the victims are women (wives). The impact of violence against a wife is experiencing physical pain, mental stress, decreased self-confidence and self-esteem, experiencing a feeling of helplessness, experiencing dependence on a husband who has abused her, experiencing post-traumatic stress, experiencing depression, and wanting to commit suicide. The rate of domestic violence tends to increase every year, indicating that victims are starting to realize that acts of domestic violence are not something that can be normalized, so victims have the right to fight for their right to live safely and better. Marriage, which should be a comfortable space for a couple, has become the scariest space for some women. The factors that cause violence against women in the household, especially by husbands against wives, are very diverse. Domestic violence is a behavior that has a very complex impact on women who are victims of domestic violence. These acts of violence produce psychological impacts on women who are victims of domestic violence. One of the handling efforts is to fulfill the rights of women who are victims of domestic violence. Understanding the culture of equality is very much needed in the lives of couples, families, and society.

Abstract

This experiment was carried out to evaluate Plumeria obtusa leaf powder supplemented in the diet of Pekin ducks: effect on growth performance, carcass characteristics and caecal microflora count. 400 Pekin ducklings (mixed sex) were used in the 42 days trial (Poultry Unit of Sumitra Research Institute, India) with an initial body weight of 42.55± 1.35 g were randomly distributed into five treatment groups with ten replicates (10 birds per replicate). An experimental bird (basal diet) was compounded following the requirement for ducks according Nutritional Research Council’s recommendation in 1994. Ducks in group A which also served as the control, was fed basal diet only, group B received basal diet supplemented with Oxytet® Plus (synthetic antibiotics) at 0.25 g/kg diet while those in group C, D and E were fed same diet (basal diet) supplemented with Plumeria obtusa leaf powder at 20 g, 40 g and 60 g/kg diet respectively. Average daily weight gain and average daily feed intake were higher in birds fed Plumeria obtusa leaf powder (C, D and E), intermediate in group B and lowest in group A (p˂0.05). Feed to gain ratio decreased as the level of Plumeria obtusa leaf powder increased in the diet (p˂0.05). Dressed percentage, eviscerated weight were significantly (p˂0.05) influenced by the diet except for the relative weights of heart, liver, spleen, head, back, thigh, drumstick, breast and wing (p˃0.05). Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas spp, Staphyllococcus spp and Stereptococcus spp counts were higher in group A relative to the other treatments. Conversely, Lactobacillus spp count were higher in group C, D and E compared to the other groups. It was concluded that dietary supplementation of Plumeria obtusa leaf powder up to 60 g/kg had to negative effect on the performance of ducks.

Abstract

Sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) is an important global crop, but its production is threatened by various leaf diseases, requiring accurate and efficient disease detection methods. Traditional manual inspection is labor-intensive and error-prone, making automated image processing techniques a promising alternative. This study implements Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO)-based image segmentation to detect diseased leaf regions by optimizing threshold selection in HSV color space. In the classification phase, leaves are classified into healthy and diseased classes using a Euclidean distance-based classifier. The proposed method achieved an average classification accuracy of 88.1%, with an accuracy of 95.8% for diseased leaves and 80.4% for healthy leaves, demonstrating its effectiveness in discriminating infected regions. The results confirm that PSO is a robust and efficient segmentation technique that improves the accuracy of disease detection. This research highlights the potential of PSO-based segmentation in smart agriculture, enabling early disease detection to help farmers take timely action and minimize crop losses. Compared to traditional methods, PSO reduces computational complexity while maintaining high segmentation accuracy, making it a valuable tool for agricultural disease monitoring. Future work can integrate deep learning models to refine disease classification and expand datasets to improve system performance under different environmental conditions.

Abstract

In actuality, the term "migration" refers to the process of moving from one location to another; it can be either temporary or permanent, and it is influenced by several determinants, including social, economic, political, and environmental variables. During the colonial and post-colonial eras, a vast number of migrants arrived in northeastern India. At the same time, its effects have been felt in this area's society. In particular, the state of Assam has had numerous instances of strife or ethnic clash, primarily between the local population and migrant communities (Bengali and Nepali) since independence. Ethnic violence has frequently targeted migrant communities, sending them back to their home countries as illegal immigrants or doubtful citizens. Despite having lived in the state for a long time and assimilated into Assam's mainstream multicultural community, they have often been labelled as aliens because of their figures, which have raised concerns in the area. In addition, they have experienced internal displacement and widespread evictions. This study examines the displacement of Bengalis and Nepalis in northeastern India due to war, with a particular emphasis in Assam. The study also examines institutional and governmental perspectives about rehabilitation and aiding these internally displaced victims.
