Abstract

Preeclampsia complicates 2 to 4% of all pregnancies and causes approximately 46,000 maternal deaths and 500,000 fetal or newborn deaths each year. This study aims to determine the risk factors for preeclampsia, namely maternal age, parity, and hyperplacental disease (multiple pregnancies). The results of the relationship test between variables showed that p <0.05, which means that age, parity, and multiple pregnancies are related to the incidence of preeclampsia. Assessed from the confidence interval values of the three variables studied, the age variable is a variable that can be generalized to the actual situation with a 95% CI value exceeding 1 (31.55 to 33.37). Health workers need to increase promotive and preventive efforts.

Meanwhile, the level of satisfaction is in the satisfied category, which is 25 (41.7%). The results of the statistical test using spearman rank obtained a p-value of 0.000 which means a p-value of < α (0.05). This study can be concluded that there is a relationship between service and patient satisfaction at the Dasan Lekong Health Center

Abstract

Uterine involution is an important process indicating maternal recovery during the postpartum period. The speed of uterine involution is influenced by various factors, including the mother's age, number of previous births (parity), exclusive breastfeeding, implementation of early initiation of breastfeeding (IMD), and early mobilization after giving birth. Breastfeeding has a crucial role in accelerating uterine involution, because through this process, the baby's sucking on the mother's nipple stimulates uterine contractions. IMD, namely the baby's first breastfeeding immediately after birth, is one important step in supporting this process. Apart from that, parity or the number of previous births also influences the uterine involution process. In mothers giving birth for the first time, the involution process can take place a little differently compared to mothers who have given birth before. This study aims to analyze the relationship between parity and early initiation of breastfeeding (IMD) with uterine involution in postpartum mothers at the PKU Muhammadiyah Mayong Jepara Hospital. Researchers used a quantitative type of research with a cross sectional design. This research used a sample of 36 respondents calculated using the Slovin formula. The instruments used in this research were questionnaires and observation sheets. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test. The results showed that the average patient age was 27 years, most respondents had completed high school education with a frequency of 27 people (75%). The correlation test concluded that there was no relationship between parity (p value = 0.582) with uterine involution in postpartum mothers and there was a relationship between IMD (p = 0.011) with uterine involution in postpartum women at the PKU Muhammadiyah Mayong Jepara Hospital.

Abstract

Dignity therapy (DT) aims to enhance the dignity, meaning, and emotional well-being of terminally ill cancer patients. While research investigates DT’s application in palliative care, a comprehensive systematic review synthesizing its effects remains lacking. Objective: This systematic review assesses the efficacy of DT in improving psychological and existential outcomes for terminally ill cancer patients. Methods: A systematic review adhering to the PRISMA guidelines was conducted. Searches across Medline, PubMed, Scopus, and CINAHL databases yielded 113 references, which were screened against 10 studies meeting inclusion criteria. Results: DT demonstrates positive effects on dignity, sense of purpose, meaning in life, and hope. However, its impact on psychosocial distress, particularly depression and anxiety, is inconclusive. DT’s acceptance rate was high, with over 80% of participants reporting satisfaction. Quality of life improvements varied, with some significant enhancements and others exhibiting minimal impact. Conclusion: DT is a feasible intervention that offers psychosocial benefits for terminally ill cancer patients in palliative care settings. It enhances dignity, facilitates family communication, and offers existential relief. Further research is necessary to standardize protocols, conduct long-term follow-ups, and integrate DT into interdisciplinary palliative care models.

Abstract

One of the nutritional disorders that is still frequently encountered and a major nutritional problem in Indonesia is anemia. This condition indicates that anemia rates are quite high in Indonesia, exceeding the threshold for serious public health issues, with a prevalence limit of 40%. Although the government has implemented programs to combat anemia in pregnant women by providing 90 iron tablets to pregnant women throughout their pregnancy to reduce the incidence of anemia, the occurrence of anemia remains high. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between nutritional status and the incidence of anemia in pregnant women at Aisyah Health House, Bogor City, in 2024. The sample for this study consists of 50 pregnant women. This research uses a cross-sectional study design. The results show that 30 pregnant women (60%) experience anemia, and there is a statistically significant relationship between nutritional status and anemia in pregnant women (p-value 0.000). Therefore, preventive efforts in the form of focused education regarding nutritional preparation before pregnancy are necessary to reduce the incidence of anemia in pregnant women

Abstract

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) remains a significant global health burden. Effective self-management by patients is crucial and involves regular monitoring by healthcare providers, patient education, and a collaboratively agreed-upon written action plan. This study aimed to design and apply a self-management guidebook incorporating a written action plan for individuals with COPD. The study used a pre-experimental design with 9 participants. Data were collected through self-management knowledge questionnaires and evaluations of the guidebook implementation. Results showed a significant increase in self-management knowledge after the intervention (p < 0.05), along with good acceptance from the participants. In conclusion, the written action plan-based guidebook shows promise as a tool to facilitate ongoing care and self-management in COPD patients. Larger-scale studies are recommended to validate these results.
