Abstract

The spread of Corona virus is happening so fast in almost all countries in the world, including Indonesia. The effect of this pandemic is felt by several industrial sectors, including companies that run their businesses in the food and beverage sector. The purpose of this study is to test and analyze the differences in the performance or financial performance of food and beverage companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange before and during the Corona virus outbreak when viewed from net profit margin (NPM), debt to asset ratio (DAR), total asset turnover (TATO), and current ratio (CR). The purposive sampling method is applied in the sample selection process. The samples processed in this study were from 8 companies. This study uses secondary data in the form of financial statement data for food and beverage companies from 2018 to 2021. The data is divided into two periods, namely 2018 to 2019 for the period before the Corona virus pandemic, and 2020 to 2021 as the period during the Corona virus pandemic. Hypothesis testing uses a paired sample t-test, and the data is processed with the help of IBM SPSS Version 26 software. The results revealed that there were differences in NPM and TATO before and during the Corona virus pandemic, and there were no differences in DAR and CR before and during the Corona virus pandemic.

Abstract

The effect of the Corona virus pandemic on the global economy is very large with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) estimating a global economic contraction in 2020 will result in a very large recession after the second world war. With this continuation, Indonesia's economic growth experienced a contraction of 2.07% in 2020 and is expected to improve gradually in 2021. The transportation sector is the industrial sector that was most significantly effected during the pandemic. This sector is one of the industrial sectors that collapsed due to the Corona virus pandemic, where corporate performance experienced a serious effect. Financial performance measures the level of success of a corporate. This research examines differences in the financial performance of transportation companies during the Corona virus pandemic and compares it with the period before the pandemic. The research used data from 2018-2021, with a total number of 132 samples from 11 companies that met the criteria of purposive sampling. Current Ratio, Return on Assets, and Debt to Assets Ratio are proxies in this research where Microsoft Excel and SPSS version 27 were used as data processing tools. Descriptive statistics was the first step, continued by classical assumption test in the form of normality test, and ended with hypothesis testing using the Paired Sample t-test. The research results show no differences in Current Ratio, differences in Return on Assets, and no differences in Debt to Assets Ratio. The implication of this research is to provide insights for companies to plan strategies and reduce risks.

Abstract

Face recognition has been increasingly incorporated to workplaces to improve the workplace environment. It allows managers to identify workers hence efficiently manage human resource. This paper investigates the impact of four dimensions of face recognition (namely accuracy, time-saving, friendly interface, and data transparency) on employee engagement. The role of job evaluation in the relationship between face recognition and employee engagement is also examined. Using the probability sampling technique, a sample of 218 valid observations was gathered through the structured questionnaire survey in Vietnam, which is explored by correlation analysis and structural equation modelling. This study finds that face recognition significantly impacts employee emotional and moral engagement while having no effect on employees' continuance engagement. In addition, job evaluation has no moderating effect on the relationship between face recognition and emotional and continuance engagement, except for the link between face recognition and moral engagement. The results of this study demonstrate the vitality of face recognition in increasing employee engagement, incredibly in terms of emotion and morale. Face recognition is found to improve workplace fairness and confidence for employees. Meanwhile, information about working time helps employees self-assess their work progress and make adjustments to achieve goals at work. Finally, the interaction between job evaluation and face recognition increases moral engagement at the workplace, while it has no interaction with face recognition on emotional and maintaining engagement.

Abstract

The unemployment rate in Indonesia is very high due to high population growth resulting in an imbalance between job seekers and available jobs. One approach that can be taken to overcome unemployment is through entrepreneurial mechanisms. However, the number of entrepreneurs in Indonesia is still very low so researchers are interested in conducting research related to variables that can affect entrepreneurial intentions in students at management program of economic faculty and business of Tarumanagara University. It involves entrepreneurship education, subjective norms, and entrepreneurial attitudes. The theory of planned behavior serves as the underlying framework for conducting research. The sampling design was carried out using convenience sampling techniques using a sample of 103 students who were or had taken entrepreneurship courses. Data processing methods are applied utilizing the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling approach for data analysis. The results indicate that subjective norms and attitudes toward entrepreneurship positively and significantly influenced entrepreneurial intentions, while the impact of entrepreneurship education, although positive, did not reach statistical significance. These results are as information in developing entrepreneurial education programs on campus.

Abstract

The Industrial Revolution 4.0 brings changes in all aspects where all access and work involve technology and high optimization using AI and artificial intelligence. The industrial revolution 4.0 is also known as the technological revolution, whereas revolutions 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 did not use technology. This process also involves changes in human behavior and life patterns. Individuals or human resources in a company must have high quality in line with the changes in the industrial revolution. To get quality human resources, of course, you have to go through a recruitment and selection process until you are selected to join an organization or company. The recruitment process itself currently also involves technology because it adapts to changes in the industrial revolution; this has been happening for a long time, including in Indonesia. The aim of this research is to see the influence of the industrial revolution on the process of conserving quality human resources. The method used is a literature study from previous related research; the journals used are journals from the last 10 years, and then a review process is carried out. Previous research illustrates that by following the industrial revolution, the conservation process will be more effective and efficient, and if companies or organizations do not follow the revolution, it will cause difficulties in obtaining quality human resources. The results of the literature review presented by us no longer need to send applications directly to the office; just send an email, and information about job openings can be obtained via digital and online platforms. This research still has shortcomings due to limited resources and research time. This research provides a contribution to organizations or companies as reference material, and it is hoped that further research can study it more deeply with more and more accurate sources.
