Abstract

This study investigates the role of organizational culture, transformational leadership, and work motivation as strategic drivers of employee performance in an Indonesian corporate context. Conducted over seven months from September 2024 to March 2025, the research employed a quantitative design using Likert-scale questionnaires (1–5) distributed to 104 respondents, determined through the Slovin formula from a population of 140 employees. Data analysis was performed with SPSS version 21.0 through regression and correlation techniques. The findings reveal that organizational culture has a positive and significant effect on employee performance (β = 0.311; p < 0.05), transformational leadership shows a positive but statistically insignificant effect (β = 0.406; p > 0.05), and work motivation exerts the strongest positive and significant effect (β = 0.584; p < 0.05). Furthermore, organizational culture and transformational leadership significantly enhance work motivation (β = 0.317; p < 0.05; β = 0.299; p < 0.05), while their indirect effects on performance through motivation are positive but insignificant. These results underscore that organizational culture and work motivation are the most critical determinants of employee performance, whereas transformational leadership requires stronger alignment with motivational and cultural reinforcement to maximize impact. The study contributes to organizational behavior literature by providing empirical evidence from Indonesia and offers practical insights for managers seeking sustainable strategies to improve workforce performance.

Abstract

This study analyzes the mediating role of brand equity in the relationships between firm-created content (FCC), user-generated content (UGC), and digital word of mouth (dWOM) on purchase intention in the context of social media marketing. A quantitative design with an associative causality approach was employed, with data collected online from TikTok users in Indonesia who had interacted with Mosdoom bag content. Purposive sampling was applied with criteria including being at least 18 years old, residing in Indonesia, and having engaged with Mosdoom-related content within the last three months, yielding 140 valid responses based on Hair’s formula. Data were obtained through differential-scale questionnaires and analyzed using regression techniques to examine direct and indirect effects. The findings demonstrate that FCC, UGC, and dWOM each exert positive and significant effects on brand equity and purchase intention, while brand equity itself significantly enhances purchase intention. Furthermore, brand equity is confirmed to play a significant mediating role in strengthening the influence of FCC, UGC, and dWOM on purchase intention. These results highlight the strategic importance of brand equity in digital consumer behavior, offering theoretical contributions to the literature on social media marketing and practical implications for firms seeking to optimize consumer engagement and purchasing decisions.

Abstract

This study examines judicial interpretation of criminal sanctions under Article 132 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 on Narcotics by analyzing the District Court of Tebing Tinggi Decision Number 174/Pid.Sus/2025/PN Tbt. The central issue concerns the court’s omission of financial penalties despite the fact that the principal offense referred to particularly Article 114 paragraph (1) explicitly mandates a cumulative sanction system combining imprisonment and fines. Using doctrinal legal research, the study finds that the judge’s reliance solely on grammatical interpretation disregarded the systematic construction and normative purpose of narcotics sentencing, which regards financial sanctions as an imperative element. Such interpretation not only undermines the principles of legality and legal certainty but also weakens the effectiveness of criminal policy in addressing narcotics offenses as extraordinary crimes. This research highlights the necessity of systematic statutory interpretation and recommends normative refinements, including clearer sentencing guidelines, to prevent future disparities in judicial decisions.

Abstract

Employee engagement in work is key to organizational success, yet only 21% of employees globally are truly engaged in their work, reflecting a major challenge in human resource management. This research aims to examine the mediating role of Perceived Insider Status (PIS) in the relationship between Perceived Organizational Support (POS) and Work Engagement among employees in Indonesia. This research uses a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design, involving 283 employee participants who met the research criteria. Data were collected through online surveys using validated instruments: Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES), Survey of Perceived Organizational Support (SPOS), and Perceived Insider Status Scale. Analysis results using PROCESS bootstrapping regression indicate that POS has a significant and positive effect on work engagement (β = 0.1194, p < 0.001) and POS also has a significant effect on PIS (β = 0.0388, p < 0.001). However, PIS does not have a significant effect on work engagement (β = -0.3351, p = 0.0942 > 0.05), thus PIS was not proven to function as a mediating variable (indirect effect: β = -0.0130, 95% CI [-0.0361, 0.0049]). These findings are useful as a reference for human resource practitioners, managers, and organizations to develop more effective strategies in enhancing employee work engagement through comprehensive organizational support strengthening. The implications of this research demonstrate that the influence of organizational support on work engagement is direct without requiring an increase in insider status feelings first, therefore organizations should prioritize enhancing perceived organizational support directly to improve employee work engagement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and evaluate the implementation of managerial supervision conducted by a madrasah principal, with particular attention to how supervision is planned, implemented, monitored, and evaluated to support teacher and administrative staff performance. A qualitative case study approach was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, and were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that managerial supervision was implemented through four interconnected stages: systematic planning, classroom observations and individual guidance during implementation, continuous monitoring of teacher performance, and evaluation to identify areas for improvement. The study also found that effective managerial supervision was supported by visionary leadership, constructive communication between the principal and teachers, and institutional collaboration. However, its implementation was constrained by limited time allocation and available resources, which affected the consistency and scope of supervisory activities. These findings suggest that strengthening principals’ managerial and supervisory competencies through continuous professional development, alongside institutional support to address resource constraints, may enhance the effectiveness of managerial supervision and contribute to continuous school quality improvement.

Abstract

Contemporary Islamic education is facing a profound epistemological crisis characterized by the dichotomy between religious and secular sciences, the dominance of positivistic and secular paradigms, and the weak integration of tawhidic values into knowledge development. This crisis has led to fragmented educational objectives and reduced curricular relevance to the needs of the Muslim community. The present study aims to critically examine the epistemological roots of this crisis and explore the applicability of Ismail Raji al-Faruqi’s concept of the Islamization of Knowledge as a reformative framework. Employing a library research method with descriptive-analytical techniques, the study focuses on al-Faruqi’s seminal work Islamization of Knowledge and relevant secondary literature. The findings reveal that the epistemological crisis stems primarily from the entrenched dichotomy of knowledge and the pervasive influence of secular paradigms. Al-Faruqi’s epistemological project, when reformulated through twelve practical steps, provides a comprehensive tawhidic epistemological model that can be operationalized in curriculum design, educational objectives, and pedagogical praxis. The implications of this reformulation highlight the urgency of integrating tawhidic principles into contemporary Islamic education to overcome fragmentation and restore its relevance to the holistic development of the Muslim community.

Abstract

This study examines the translation of gamification principles from digital technology into analog systems within higher education, focusing on a design criticism class. Using a qualitative Design-Based Research approach, the study followed stages of analysis, design, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through literature review, documentation of design artifacts, questionnaires administered to 75 students, and semi-structured interviews with 10 purposively selected participants. Thematic analysis combined with descriptive statistics revealed that analog gamification enhances motivation, participation, collaboration, and enjoyment in classroom learning. However, the findings also highlight ambivalent effects, including risks of social pressure, verbal participation bias, and distraction when mechanics lack inclusivity and transparency. The study concludes that gamification effectiveness depends not only on game mechanics but also on system design quality, instructor facilitation, and the learning environment. The implications recommend developing inclusive, adaptive, and academically substantive analog gamification models to strengthen engagement and achievement in design education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the strategies employed by guidance and counseling teachers in addressing online game addiction among students, focusing on four service functions: prevention, understanding, alleviation, and advocacy. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, six informants were involved, including one counseling coordinator, two counseling teachers, one vice principal, and two students. Data were collected through interviews and analyzed using data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that preventive efforts were implemented through classical and group services with interactive methods and the use of a “Daily Pure Schedule” instrument to strengthen self-control. Understanding was fostered by providing digital literacy education and awareness of the risks of online game addiction through visual media such as educational videos and posters. Alleviation was conducted through individual counseling using Reality Therapy and home visits. Advocacy was carried out through smartphone restrictions, the formation of task forces, collaboration with parents via parenting groups, and coordination with internet café owners. Despite challenges such as student dishonesty and parental apathy, consistent advocacy fostered positive transitions, with parents becoming more cooperative. The study provides initial data for further research on online game addiction in broader educational contexts.
