Abstract

This study aims to analyze differences in students’ levels of religious moderation in Islamic Religious Education classes at the junior high school level in Indonesia. The study employs a comparative quantitative approach using a survey method. The sample consisted of 120 students selected through proportional random sampling. The research instrument consisted of a religious moderation questionnaire with 25 items covering four indicators: national commitment, tolerance, anti-violence, and accommodation of local culture. Analysis results showed that the average religious moderation score for students at State Junior High School 1 in Cilegon City was 82.45, while students at State Junior High School 3 in Cilegon City scored an average of 78.10. A comparison test using the Independent Samples t-test yielded a t-value of 3.214 with p = 0.002 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the two groups. These findings suggest that the level of religious moderation among students at State Junior High School 1 in Cilegon City is higher than that at State Junior High School 3 in Cilegon City. The implications and benefits of this study suggest that schools need to strengthen learning strategies based on dialogue and local culture. These results also serve as a basis for teachers and policymakers to improve religious moderation programs in a structured and sustainable manner.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Islamic philosophical tradition in understanding knowledge and humanity’s path toward God as the core of the spiritual and intellectual journey within the Islamic intellectual tradition. This study focuses on the thought of key figures such as Al-Farabi, Ibn Sina, Al-Ghazali, and Mulla Sadra, who have made significant contributions to the concepts of epistemology, metaphysics, and the process of human self-perfection. This research employs a qualitative method with a content analysis design. The units of analysis consist of texts from Islamic philosophical works. Data were collected through literature review and documentation. Analysis was conducted using Miles and Huberman’s thematic analysis aided by NVivo, through the stages of coding, categorization, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results indicate that the tradition of Islamic philosophy views knowledge as a gradual process involving the harmony of reason, intuition, and the purification of the soul. The human journey toward God is understood as a process of self-knowledge (ma’rifat al-nafs), the enhancement of intellectual capacity, and moral transformation that culminates in an existential closeness to God. This research is beneficial for enriching the study of Islamic philosophy, providing a comprehensive understanding of the integration of reason and spirituality, and serving as a foundation for the development of character and spiritual education within the context of modern learning.

Abstract

Three-dimensional learning media are increasingly being used in early childhood education due to their ability to provide concrete and multisensory learning experiences. From an Islamic educational perspective, the use of these media not only contributes to cognitive development but also has the potential to integrate spiritual values into the learning process. This study aims to analyze the characteristics and synthesize findings regarding the use of three-dimensional learning media in stimulating the fine motor and cognitive development of early childhood from an Islamic educational perspective. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of 170 articles published between 2020 and 2025, employing thematic analysis. This study employed a Systematic Literature Review method by identifying 1,097 articles from Scopus and Sinta spanning the years 2020–2025 through a structured selection process, resulting in 15 articles that were analyzed using a thematic approach. The research findings indicate that three-dimensional learning media promote multisensory learning experiences that enhance children’s active exploration, hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and logical thinking skills. Furthermore, the use of these media supports the integration of Islamic values through reflective and contemplative learning. Overall, three-dimensional media contribute to a holistic learning approach that integrates children’s physical, cognitive, and spiritual development. This study offers practical implications for early childhood educators and parents in designing three-dimensional media-based learning activities integrated with Islamic values, and points the way toward the development of more innovative and holistic learning models.

Abstract

This study examines the reconstruction of an Islamic Education learning model based on integration–interconnection in an Islamic elementary school. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research involved school principals, Islamic Education teachers, general subject teachers, and students. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation of instructional materials. Thematic analysis followed Miles and Huberman’s framework, encompassing data condensation, presentation, and conclusion drawing, with validity ensured through triangulation of sources, techniques, and time. Findings indicate that integration–interconnection functions as both a conceptual and epistemological foundation, positioning Islamic Education as the core value permeating interdisciplinary learning. The reconstructed pedagogical design emphasizes value habituation, teacher exemplification, reinforcement of religious and social practices, and integrative teaching materials linking Islamic Education with science, social studies, and health. This model contributes to holistic internalization of Islamic values across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains, fostering moderate religious character among students. Nevertheless, implementation faces challenges such as dual curriculum administrative burdens, limited family support, and diverse student backgrounds. The cultural context of Nahdlatul Ulama provides strong cultural capital that sustains value-based education.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology in the digital era requires Islamic Education teachers to demonstrate professionalism that extends beyond pedagogical competence and subject mastery, encompassing the effective use of learning technologies. This study investigates how student engagement in one Islamic educational institution in Indonesia is influenced by the professionalism of Islamic Education teachers in utilizing educational technology. Employing a causal-associative design with a quantitative methodology, thirty eleventh-grade students were randomly selected as participants. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics with simple linear regression. Findings reveal a positive correlation (R = 0.305) between teacher professionalism in technology-based learning and student engagement. However, the contribution of teacher professionalism was modest (R² = 0.093), and the t-test indicated non-significance (p = 0.101 > 0.05). These results suggest that student engagement is not significantly affected by teachers’ digital competence, although the integration of educational technology remains essential for fostering interactive and participatory learning environments.

Abstract

This study examines the comparative authority of administrative court decision enforcement in Indonesia and Thailand, focusing on institutional frameworks and compliance mechanisms. Employing a normative juridical method through literature review and statutory analysis, the findings reveal fundamental differences in institutional arrangements. Thailand has established the Legal Execution Department under the Ministry of Justice as a specialized body to enforce court decisions, whereas Indonesia lacks a dedicated execution institution. In terms of compliance, Thailand applies the doctrine of contempt of court, enabling the imposition of criminal sanctions such as imprisonment or administrative fines on non-compliant officials. Indonesia, by contrast, relies primarily on coercive fines (dwangsom), whose effectiveness remains limited. Both countries share the use of dwangsom as a coercive instrument, yet differ in judicial hierarchy: Indonesia operates a three-tier system (First Instance, Appeal, and Cassation), while Thailand maintains a two-tier system (Administrative Court of First Instance and Supreme Administrative Court). This comparative analysis provides recommendations for strengthening Indonesia’s administrative justice system, particularly through the establishment of an execution authority, to ensure effective protection of citizens’ rights.
