Abstract

Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger s are the most widely used type of heat exchanger in the process, energy, and manufacturing industries due to their structural reliability and operational flexibility. However, various studies show that conventional designs still face limitations in achieving high heat transfer performance with controlled pressure losses. This article aims to critically review approaches to improving the performance of Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger s through design modifications and working fluid selection. The method used a semi-systematic approach to experimental studies, numerical studies, and previous reviews discussing baffle innovations, tube geometry variations, the application of porous media, passive enhancement methods, and the use of nanofluids. The results show that design modifications, particularly to the baffles and tube geometry, can improve heat transfer performance by 20–40% compared to conventional configurations. Passive enhancement and porous media approaches enhance flow mixing and turbulence intensity, but are often accompanied by an increase in pressure loss of up to 15–60%. The use of nanofluids and hybrid nanofluids was reported to improve thermal performance by 25–35%, with the main limitations being increased fluid viscosity and pump power requirements.

Abstract

The implementation of the Covid-19 response budget in local governments faced several challenges, including limited health facilities, inappropriate planning, and budget refocusing policies. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of regional budget implementation and Covid-19 response programs in Bandung City. This research uses a qualitative method with interviews, documentation, and literature study. Informants consisted of 16 civil servants from the Bandung City Health Office. The results indicate that the implementation of the Covid-19 response budget was relatively effective, although the effectiveness rate declined in 2022. In terms of efficiency, the budget implementation was generally efficient, particularly in vaccination and testing programs, but not fully optimal due to the high use of resources compared to program achievements. Supporting factors include program alignment, government policies, and cross-sector assistance, while inhibiting factors include limited human resources, low community participation, and inadequate budget planning.

Abstract

Labor pain is a complex physiological experience influenced by biological, psychological, and social factors. Non-pharmacological approaches such as labor dance and music therapy are increasingly recommended as complementary strategies to reduce pain perception without pharmacological side effects. The purpose of this scoping review is to map the latest scientific evidence regarding the effectiveness of labor dance and music therapy in reducing labor pain intensity based on publications from 2020–2025. A literature search was conducted through the PubMed database using keywords related to "labor pain," "music therapy," and "labor dance." Article selection followed the PRISMA extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) guidelines. Included studies included randomized controlled trials, quasi-experimental studies, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses reporting labor pain intensity outcomes. A total of 18 studies met the inclusion criteria. Many studies have shown that music therapy significantly reduces pain scores based on the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) or Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), especially during the active phase of labor. Labor dance interventions, either alone or combined with music, also show statistically significant pain reductions compared to control groups. The mechanisms of action of this intervention include cognitive distraction, relaxation, autonomic nervous system modulation, and increased endorphin release. Although heterogeneity in design and musical genres remains a challenge, these findings reinforce the potential of labor dance and music therapy as effective non-pharmacological interventions in labor pain management. Further research with standardized RCT designs is needed to strengthen clinical recommendations.

Abstract

Machine maintenance is important to maintain smooth production, because a decrease in the condition and productivity of the machine can disrupt the production process. CV Tahu Bandung NN is a company that produces Bandung tofu and is located at Jl. Aridho, Jatimulya Village, Cilodong District, Depok City, West Java 16413. This study aims to determine the OEE value, the types of losses that most affect the machine, identify major failures, and compile an effective machine maintenance schedule to increase productivity. The methods used in this study are Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Six Big Losses, and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). The OEE method is used to measure machine effectiveness. Six Big Losses identifies six major losses that reduce machine performance, while the FMEA method analyzes potential component failures and determines the priority of handling them based on the level of risk. The results showed that the average value of the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of the soybean grinding machine in November 2024 was 68.34%, still below the JIPM standard ≥85%, which indicates that the machine's effectiveness is not optimal. Six Big Losses analysis shows that the losses that most affect machine performance are Reduced Speed Losses (35.60%) and Breakdown Losses (5.68%). The results of the analysis using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method show that the drive motor component has the highest RPN value of 252, making it a top priority in maintenance. The preparation of machine maintenance schedules can be done effectively using CalemEAM CMMS software.

Abstract

Anxiety manifests through excessive and uncontrolled emotions, as well as manipulative behavior. This is caused by intense internal and external conflicts. This study aims to show how films can represent the dynamics of the human psyche and broaden our understanding of the relationship between psychological trauma and anxiety disorder in fictional characters. Using Sigmund Freud's psychoanalysis approach, this study examines the things that can trigger neurotic anxiety in characters in films. The character Diane is not the main character in the film Run (2020), but she is at the center of all the problems that arise for the main character, Chloe. She is depicted as a very protective and impulsive mother towards her daughter, Chloe, who suffers from an illness that causes a disability. The theory used in this study is Freud's theory of personality structure, which includes the id, ego, and superego. This theory is used to analyze data obtained through observations of the script and film. The results of the study show that Diane's neurotic anxiety is triggered by the death of her biological baby and the fear of losing her mother figure, as well as a subconscious urge to act contrary to her reality as a mother.

Abstract

Industrial competition requires companies to continuously improve production efficiency and reduce waste in their operational processes. This study aims to identify waste in the production process and propose improvement strategies using the Lean Manufacturing approach. The research was conducted at PT XYZ, a batik manufacturing company that implements a make‑to‑order production system. The methods used in this study are Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to analyze material and information flow and the 5S method (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, Shitsuke) to improve workplace organization. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation of the production process. The results show several non‑value‑added activities such as waiting time, excessive inventory, and inefficient workplace layout. After implementing improvements using VSM and 5S, the total production time decreased from 485 minutes to 350 minutes. These results indicate that the integration of VSM and 5S can significantly improve production efficiency.

Abstract

Stunting has become a serious public health problem, including in rural areas. This study aims to analyze the risk factors that potentially cause stunting in Bumi Agung Village, Bumi Agung Sub-district, Way Kanan Regency, and propose targeted solutions. This research used a qualitative descriptive method through field observations and in-depth interviews (case study) with a pregnant woman identified as at-risk, as well as an analysis of local posyandu data. The results showed that although the general prevalence of stunting cases in the village from mid-2023 to early 2024 was controlled, there were still pregnant women with Mid-Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC) below the standard. The main factors causing pregnant women to be at risk of giving birth to stunted children in this case were not a lack of nutritional knowledge or access to health services, but rather a high burden of physical activity (heavy household chores) and mental stress experienced by the mother during pregnancy. Suggested solutions include education involving the family (especially husbands) to support the physical and psychological condition of pregnant women, improvement of supporting infrastructure, and cross-sectoral collaboration in monitoring pregnant women's nutrition.
