Abstract

Internships abroad are a strategic opportunity for Indonesian students to hone professional skills, expand networks, and enhance competitiveness in the global job market. One country that many Indonesian students are interested in for internships is Japan. However, many students encounter challenges in cross-cultural communication. This is a qualitative study with a case study approach. Data collection was conducted through semi-structured interviews with Indonesian students who were interning in Japan. To maintain data validity, the researcher used source triangulation. The study results show that Indonesian students interning in Japan in the early period of their stay and internship still experience difficulties adapting to the work environment in Japan, which has high-quality standards, such as levels of discipline, kaizen, seishen, meishi kokan, and doryoku. However, with determination and strong desire, they managed to adapt to the new environment with appropriateness, effectiveness, and adaptability achievements in accordance with the company's expectations in Japan

Abstract

This study examines the internalization of humanitarian values as a strategy to prevent bullying at SMPN 9 Banjarmasin. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, interviews with nine informants, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model and validated through triangulation. The findings indicate that empathy is developed through social experiences, teacher role-modeling, and habituation. Social care is reflected in empathy, responsibility, solidarity, and student participation. Pancasila Education contributes significantly to the internalization of these values through active learning methods. The study concludes that the internalization of humanitarian values effectively supports the development of an anti-bullying school culture in accordance with the second principle of Pancasila.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of health education on Handwashing with Soap (HWWS) on the knowledge and compliance of students at MTs Al-Washliyah Stabat. A quantitative study with a One Group Pre-Test and Post-Test Design was conducted in April 2026 involving 50 eighth-grade students selected through total sampling. The intervention consisted of lectures, interactive discussions, demonstrations of the six-step handwashing technique, and direct practice. Data were collected using knowledge and compliance questionnaires before and after the intervention and analyzed using descriptive statistics and the paired t-test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that the knowledge score increased from 3.12 to 4.84, while the compliance score increased from 5.84 to 8.58 after the intervention. Statistical analysis demonstrated significant differences between pre-test and post-test scores for both variables (p<0.001). Health education was proven effective in improving students' knowledge and compliance regarding proper handwashing with soap, suggesting that continuous school-based health education programs should be implemented.

Abstract

This study examines the village government's programs and roles in strengthening environmental care character among coastal communities in Pulau Kerumputan Village, Pulau Laut Kepulauan District, Kotabaru Regency. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with seven informants (Village Head, Head of the Village Consultative Body, neighborhood unit head, and community members), and documentation, then analyzed via data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing, with validity ensured through extended observation, triangulation, and member checking. Results show the program is realized through the weekly "Clean Friday" mutual cooperation activity, achieving roughly 60% community participation despite lacking budget support or written policy. Among seven mandated roles under Law No. 6/2014 on Villages, educator, empowerer, and role model roles were effectively carried out through the Village Head's direct example, while policymaker, budget planner, facility provider, and supervisory roles remained weak due to absent formal instruments.

Abstract

Civic culture plays an essential role in shaping a harmonious society through values such as mutual respect, politeness, and social responsibility. However, the current wave of globalization and digital technology penetration trigger shifts in social behavior patterns and erode the sustainability of local wisdom. This study aims to analyze the existence of the metawe tradition a local wisdom of greeting and maintaining etiquette from the Mandar ethnic group within the perspective of civic culture in Tanjung Lalak Village, Kotabaru Regency. The method employed is descriptive qualitative, with data source determination techniques through purposive sampling and snowball sampling. Data collection was conducted via observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the metawe tradition remains alive as an instrument for preserving general politeness through the habits of greeting, bowing the body, and maintaining spoken words. Condition comparison reveals situational tension; prior to the study, the younger generation was considered indifferent due to gadgets, but research revealed they still internalize this value as an "automatic brake" in social interaction, yet hesitate to respond to the changing public sphere. This study suggests formally integrating traditional values into strengthening civic disposition

Abstract

This study aims to describe the political participation of citizens from the perspective of political citizenship in the implementation of the Revote (PSU) for the 2025 Banjarbaru Mayoral and Deputy Mayoral Elections, viewed from the perspective of public political awareness. The implementation of the PSU is a follow-up to the Constitutional Court's decision to annul the results of the 2024 Banjarbaru Mayoral Election.. Research informants were determined using a purposive sampling technique that included the community as voters, KPU Commissioners, PPK, PPS, KPPS, Lurah, and RT. The results of the study indicate that the people of Banjarbaru City have good political awareness in exercising their right to vote as a form of implementing the rights and obligations of citizens in a democratic life. However, the level of public participation in the 2025 PSU has decreased. This decline was influenced by the views of some people who consider clerics or religious figures as role models and considerations in determining political attitudes regarding female leadership (patriarchy), so that some people chose the empty box or did not use their voting rights (golput) in the implementation of the 2025 PSU.

Abstract

This community service program aims to implement solar panel technology to support household electricity needs, local Papuan craft production, agricultural irrigation, corn processing into animal feed, and strengthening the marketing of Duwin Village community products. The activity used a pilot project approach combined with Participatory Rural Appraisal and Rapid Rural Appraisal. Participants consisted of 20 members of the craft group and 20 members of the agricultural group. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and pre-test and post-test questionnaires, then analyzed descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed the strongest increase in the application of solar panels for household needs and craft production, with a score increase of 407 points or 92.7% and an average gain of 2.04. Social media training, product arrangement, understanding market trends, and the use of container booths increased the score by 446 points or 89.6%, with an average gain of 2.03. The implementation of solar water pumps and corn grinding machines increased the score by 349 points or 69.8%, with an average gain of 1.74.

Abstract

The problem addressed in this study is that the fine motor skills of children aged 5–6 years have not yet developed optimally. This study aims to determine the effect of jumputan batik on the fine motor skills of children aged 5–6 years. This study employs a quasi-experimental design with a quantitative approach. The research design employed was a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique used in this study was total sampling, with a sample size of 22 children. Data collection utilised an observational technique in the form of a checklist. Hypothesis testing employed the Wilcoxon test. The results indicate that the use of jumputan batik as a medium has an effect on children’s fine motor skills. This is evidenced by the results of the Wilcoxon test, which yielded a Z-value of -4.112 with an Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, thus accepting the alternative hypothesis (Ha). Children’s fine motor skills can be assessed based on the dimensions of muscle strength, grasping, object manipulation, hand stability, and eye-hand coordination.

Abstract

The Red-and-White Cooperative (Koperasi Merah Putih or KMP) is expected to strengthen rural economies through the collective management of local resources. This community service activity aimed to strengthen the capacity of KMP as a driver of local agricultural-based economic development in Cikidang Village, Lembang District, West Bandung Regency. The program employed educational and participatory approaches, including counseling, training, interactive discussions, and simple practical sessions. The topic covered cooperative strengthening, value-added agricultural development, and the utilization of organic waste as fertilizer. The result indicated improved participant understanding of the strategic role of cooperatives in supporting local economic development. Participants also gained insights into agricultural business opportunities and organic waste management practices that can support sustainable agriculture. These findings suggest that strengthening the capacity of KMP can contribute to promoting a more independent and sustainable local economy.

Abstract

The performance of medical personnel is a very vital element in determining the quality of health services at community health centers. Unbalanced workload can affect the capability of medical personnel in carrying out their duties and responsibilities, thereby impacting the quality of service. The aim of this research is to distribute the impact of workload on the performance of medical personnel at the Kutalimbaru Community Health Center. The method used in this research is a quantitative approach with a descriptive survey design which was carried out in May 2026. The population studied included all 20 medical personnel at the Kutalimbaru Community Health Center. The sample was determined using a total sampling technique so that the entire population became respondents. Data was collected using a questionnaire and analyzed descriptively and by simple linear regression. The findings from this study reveal that workload has a significant influence on the performance of health workers with a significance value.
