Abstract

An increasing number of population is related to the increasing number of need of food. It is actually followed by farmland being residence. The demand of food production also adds, on the contrary, the facility does not support it. Once, pest and plant disease, environmental flaw, and pollution might obscure. Thus as proof, biotechnology can assist the food production progress and others above the former product rate through an assembly technology of GMOs and GMMs. This technology is dependant on potency of biological varieties that are source of various genes. Abstract

Kegiatan magang di sentra industry pembibitan dan budidaya anggrek Mitra Anggrek Indonesia Batu, bertujuan untuk member pengalaman langsung kepada mahasiswa peserta magang tentang bagaimana membuat bibit anggrek. Mereka mempelajari pengetahuan praktis mulai dari proses persilangan, pemeliharaan buah dan biji, pembuatan media, menanam biji secara in vitro, pembesaran bibit, proses aklimitasasi, budidaya secara umum serta belajar memahami bagaimana aspek manajerial dan pemasarannya. Tidak itu saja, mereka juga diajak studi banding ke industry pembibitan anggrek yang lain baik yang kecil maupun yang besar agar lebih membangkitkan semangat minat menjadi wirausaha baru di bidang peranggrekan.   Keyword : Magang, Kewirausahaan, Anggrek.

Abstract

Abstract

Organism disturbing plant is commonly found in the area of mustard planting that causes of losing production. The attempt to overcome organism disturbing plants to prevent using environmental pest control as an alternative substitute for chemical pesticides. The tuba plant (Derris elliptica L.) is one of the plant that can be used for biopesticide that has a compound poison called Rothenon (C22H2306). The purpose of this study is to know how the effect of several doses of the tuba root extract (Derris elliptica L.) in the level of arthropod diversity and determine the doses of the tuba root extract to produce highest of index diversity (H’) on a mustard green plant. The study was carried out at Experimental Field of the Faculty of Agriculture Lambung Mangkurat University on Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan From May – July 2018. Diversity is determined with the index of diversity (H’) Shannon-Wienner, the evenes of the index (E), the richness of index (R) and the domination of index (C). The design of this research is to use a completely randomized design consisting of 1 factor with 5 treatment. The research of this study indicates of the highest arthropod diversity is to T0 (0 g/l) of 2,53 and the lowest result is to T5 (8 g/l of water) at 2,16. The evenes index (E) and the richness index (R) of all treatment have steady dissemination of elevated index and the value of index domination  (C) is close to zero which means there are no species dominating this field research. The sprayed pesticide on the mustard green plant was affected by the percentage of leaf damage, by using a dose of 4g/l of water was able to give a real result to the wet weight it causes the whole treatment has been given the same dosage of manure.

Abstract

Germination and development of orchid seed of Dendrobium spectabile through in vitro method has been done with good result and yielded many seeds. Different acclimatization approach was developed with sphagnum moss medium which supplemented with the same nutrition as MUS medium. Alcoholic sugar was supplemented to increase medium moisture and antimicrobial was added to minimalized contamination which can harm orchid seeds. Planlet adaptation ability to drought stress which resulted from in vitro culture can be improved using the new medium. The medium will increase the probability of seed survival also it will normalize seed development through the acclimatization process.

Abstract

ABSTRAKProduktivitas bawang merah Indonesia 9.43 ton/ha/tahun tergolong rendah menempati urutan 115 di dunia dan urutan 34 di Asia. Zat pengatur tumbuh telah digunakan pada tanaman bawang untuk meningkatkan produktivitas. Zat pengatur tumbuh biasanya digunakan secara tunggal. Pada penelitian ini aplikasi ZPT dilakukan saat pratanam menggunakan prokar dan pasca tanam menggunakan pronas.  Prokar mengandung deltametrin, natrium para-nitrofenol, natrium orto-nitrofenol, natrium 5-nitroguaiakol, naphthalene acetic acid, ositetrasiklin sedangkan pronas mengandung thidiazuron, benzil amino purin, giberelin. Tujuan penelitian adalah mempelajari respon tanaman bawang merah Varietas Batu Hijau dengan perlakuan ZPT prokar pada saat pratanam dan ZPT pronas pada saat pasca tanam.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perendaman umbi bawang merah dengan ZPT prokar dengan konsentrasi 10 ml/l selama 30 menit dan aplikasi ZPT pronas satu kali pada umur 30 HST dengan konsentrasi 10 ml/l, aplikasi pronas 2 kali umur 20 dan 30 hari setelah tanam (HST) dengan konsentrasi 5 ml/l dan konsentrasi 10 ml/l dapat meningkatkan  jumlah akar, bobot basah total/rumpun dan bobot basah umbi/rumpun.   ABSTRACTThe productivity of Indonesian shallots at 9.43 tons/ha/year is low, ranking 115th in the world and 34th in Asia. Growth regulators have been used in shallot plants to increase productivity. Plant growth regulators (PGRs) are usually used alone. In this study, the PGRs application was carried out during pre-planting using Prokar and post-planting using pronas. Prokar contains eltamethrin, sodium para-nitrophenol, sodium ortho-nitrophenol, sodium 5-nitroguaiakol, naphthalene acetic acid, oxytetracycline while pronas contains thidiazuron, benzyl amino purine, gibberellin. The aim of the study was to study the response of the Batu Hijau Variety of shallots to the treatment of PGR prokar at pre-planting time and PGR pronas at post-planting time. The results showed that the soaking of shallot bulbs with PGR prokar at a concentration of 10 ml/l for 30 minutes and application of PGR pronas once at the age of 30 days after planting (DAP) with a concentration of 10 ml/l, the application of pronas twice at the age of 20 and 30 DAP with a concentration of 5 ml/l. and a concentration of 10 ml/l can increase the number of roots, total fresh weight/clump and tuber fresh weight/clump. Keywords:  Allium cepa, auksin, shallot, gibberellin, cytokinin

Abstract

Peningkatan produksi bawang merah dapat dilakukan dengan pemulsaaan. Mulsa plastik maupun organik yang umum diaplikasikan masih memiliki kekurangan sehingga diperlukan inovasi dengan pembuatan mulsa organik lembaran (Organic Mulch Sheet, OMS). Penelitian bertujuan mengkaji pengaruh komposisi OMS terhadap pertumbuhan dan biomassa tanaman bawang merah. Penelitian dilakukan bulan Desember 2019 sampai Februari 2020 di Lahan Percobaan UMM, Junrejo, Batu, Jawa Timur. Bahan berupa benih umbi bawang merah dan bahan baku OMS (eceng gondok, pelepah batang pisang dan sabut kelapa). Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan RAK sederhana dengan 6 perlakuan yakni 1 kontrol (tanpa mulsa) dan 5 perlakuan komposisi OMS (persentase eceng gondok (EG):pelepah batang pisang (PP): sabut kelapa (SK)) yakni M1 (40%EG: 40%PP: 20%SK), M2 (30%EG: 50%PP: 20%SK), M3 (50%EG: 40%PP: 10%SK), M4 (60%EG: 30%PP: 10%SK) dan M5 (40%EG: 50%PP: 10%SK). Data pertumbuhan dan biomassa dianalisis ANOVA, dilanjutkan dengan uji beda nyata jujur (BNJ) Tukey, dan perhitungan nilai AGR dan CGR. Komposisi OMS berbahan dasar eceng gondok, sabut kelapa dan pelepah batang pisang berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, jumlah daun serta jumlah anakan pada akhir masa vegetatif. Aplikasi OMS meningkatkan biomassa (berat basah dan berat kering total) tanaman secara nyata pada saat panen. Perlakuan OMS yang terbuat dari 40% eceng gondok, 40% pelepah batang pisang dan 20% sabut kelapa menunjukkan pertumbuhan dan biomassa tanaman serta nilai AGR dan CGR yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan perlakuan OMS lainnya. Abstract

Topografi Desa Panggungduwet berupa daratan sedang dengan ketinggian sekitar 274 m di atas permukaan air laut dengan curah hujan rata-rata mencapai 240 mm dan curah hujan terbanyak terjadi pada bulan Desember mencapai 405,04 mm. Secara umum mata pencaharian warga masyarakat Desa Panggungduwet dapatteridentifikasi ke dalam beberapa sektor yaitu pertanian, jasa/perdagangan, industri dan lain-lain. Pertanian yang dilakukan adalah penanaman tanaman berkayu dan akan dipanen setelah berumur 10-15 tahun tergantung pada jenis kayunya. Akibat pola pertanian demikian kondisi desa menjadi kering dan terkesan gersang. Sementara pekarangan rumah belum banyak dimanfaatkan untuk kegiatan budidaya tanaman hias dan anggrek. Tanaman anggrek mempunyai nilai ekonomi tinggi dan tidak membutuhkan lahan yang luas terlebih untuk kegiatan produksi bibit namun membutuhkan penguasaan teknologi in vitro untuk menghasilkan bibit anggrekdalam jumlah banyak, cepat dan seragam. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian adalah mengembangkan usaha pembibitan anggrek melalui teknik in vitro pada Kelompok Wanita Tani Barokah dan Kelompok Karang Taruna Toegoe Hijaoe Desa Panggungduwet. Metode yang dilakukan adalah 1). mengenalkan tanaman anggrek dan prospeknya melalaui kegiatan diskusi, kunjungan ke sentra anggrek, 2). Melatih ketrampilan perbanyakan bibit anggrek secara in vitro, 3). Mengembangkan Laboratorium in vitro anggrek di Desa Panggungduwet. Hasil yang didapatkan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah anggota kelompok tani Wanita dan Anggota KarangTaruna berhasil membudidayakan anggrek aklimatisasi dan membuat enkas untuk subkultur anggrek.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to study the relationship between storage temperature and sorbitol concentration on the shelf life of strawberries. The research was carried out in the Agrotechnology Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture-Animal Husbandry, University of Muhammadiyah Malang in October to November 2018. The design of the experiment used a randomized nested design. The first factor is the storage temperature namely T1 (room temperature) and T2 (cold temperature of 100 C), the second factor is sorbitol concentration which is P0 (without treatment), P1 (5%), P2 (10%), P3 (15%), P4 (20%), P5 (25%), the observed variables were weight loss, fruit volume, fruit hardness, percentage of disease severity, disease attack intensity, fruit shelf life, vitamin C content, and total dissolved solids. The results showed no interaction between storage temperature treatment and sorbitol concentration on the shelf life of strawberries. Temperature of 100 C significantly affected the parameters of weight loss, fruit volume, fruit hardness, percentage of disease severity, intensity of disease attack, vitamin C levels, total dissolved solids, and the shelf life of strawberries. The treatment of sorbitol concentration did not significantly affect the parameters of weight loss, fruit volume, fruit hardness, percentage of disease severity, disease intensity, vitamin C levels, total dissolved solids and shelf life of strawberries. Temperature of 100 C is able to maintain the shelf life of fruit up to 14 days, 25% sorbitol concentration is able to extend the shelf life of strawberries at room temperature for 7 days.

Abstract

Komposisi media tanam pada stek tanaman hias aglaonema sangat menentukan keberhasilan pertumbuhan stek. Media tanam yang dipakai untuk tanaman ekspor biasanya hanya menggunakan serbuk sabut kelapa (cocopeat), sementara media untuk tanaman pot aglaonema menggunakan campuran sekam, pupuk kendang dan tanah. Selain komposisi media,tanam, pemakaian zat pengatur tumbuh (ZPT) perangsang akar juga sering digunakan. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh media tanam dan kombinasi konsentrasi-lama perendaman ZPT terhadap pertumbuhan stek pucuk tanaman aglaonema snow white. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak kelompok faktorial (RAK). Faktor pertama yaitu komposisi media tanam dan faktor kedua adalah kombinasi konsentrasi ZPT dan lama perendaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan komposisi media tanam yang berbeda yaitu M1 (pukan+cocopeat+tanah+sekam+arang sekam) dan M2 (cocopeat+arang sekam) tidak menunjukkan perbedaan terhadap peubah stek berakar, jumlah dan panjang akar, tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, jumlah dan luas daun serta bobot basah tanaman. Konsentrasi ZPT dan lama perendaman hanya menunjukkan perbedaan pada peubah panjang akar yaitu perlakuan K1 (air perendaman 30 menit), K3 (rootone-F 0,5 g/l perendaman 60 menit) dan K5 (prokar10 ml/l perendaman 30 menit) mempunyai akar lebih panjang dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya. Peningkatan bobot basah tanaman umur 45 HST dan 90 HST pada perlakuan K4 (prokar 10 ml/l perendaman 15 menit) dan K5 (prokar10 ml/l  perendaman 30 menit) adalah sebesar 3,71 g dan 4,04 g lebih tinggi dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya yaitu hanya 0,03-0,83 g. The composition of the planting medium on aglaonema ornamental plant cuttings greatly determines the success of the growth of cuttings. The planting medium used for export crops usually only uses coconut husk powder (cocopeat), while the media for potted aglaonema plants uses a mixture of husks, manure and soil. In addition to the composition of the planting media, the use of root-stimulating growth regulators (GR) is also often used. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of growing media and the combination of concentration-time of soaking GR on the growth of shoot cuttings of Aglaonema snow white. The experimental design used was a factorial randomized block design (RBD). The first factor is the composition of the planting medium and the second factor is the combination of ZPT concentration and soaking time. The results showed that the composition of the different planting media, namely M1 (manure + cocopeat + soil + husk + husk charcoal) and M2 (cocopeat + husk charcoal) showed no difference in the variables of rooted cuttings, number and length of roots, plant height, stem diameter, number of and leaf area and plant wet weight. ZPT concentration and soaking time only showed differences in root length variables, namely treatments K1 (water soaking 30 minutes), K3 (rootone-F 0.5 g/l soaking 60 minutes) and K5 (prokar 10 ml/l soaking 30 minutes) had roots longer than other treatments. The increase in fresh weight of plants aged 45 DAP and 90 HST in treatment K4 (10 ml/l soaking 15 minutes) and K5 (10 ml/l soaking 30 minutes) was 3.71 g and 4.04 g higher than the other treatments i.e. only 0.03-0.83 g.
