Abstract

This study aims to analyze the achievement of Minimum Service Standards (MSS) for newborns at BukitSangkal Health Center in 2024, based on the importance of meeting MSS in improving maternal and newborn health quality. The methodology used was a descriptive research design with a cross-sectional approach, where data were collected through a recapitulation of newborn services at BukitSangkal Health Center. The study population included all registered newborns, with a sample of 458 babies who received services according to standards. The results showed that BukitSangkal Health Center achieved 100% of SPM targets. Out of 458 infants, 215 were male, and 207 were female, with a balanced distribution. Hepatitis B0 and BCG immunization coverage also showed satisfactory results. The availability of quality goods such as vaccines and MCH books reached 100%, but the quality of health human resources (HRH) still needs to be improved, with only a percentage of 51.9%. Overall, the quality of basic services reached 75.95%. This study emphasizes the need for more attention to human resources aspects to maintain service quality and ensure newborns receive optimal care. These results are expected to be a reference for related parties to improve health service standards at the Public Health Center and other health facilities.

Abstract

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a progressive respiratory disorder that increases the risk of perioperative complications, particularly in thoracic surgery requiring one-lung ventilation (OLV). Patients with severe COPD are prone to respiratory failure, which make the anesthetic management challenging, escpecially to prevent acute exacerbation. A 58-year-old female with severe COPD and acute exacerbation underwent video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) for diaphragmatic hernia repair. Preoperative optimization included nebulization therapy, glucose control, and respiratory muscle training. General anesthesia was maintained with sevoflurane. Lung isolation achieved with placement of double-lumen tube. Midway through surgery, the patient developed acute respiratory distress, requiring manual ventilation with 100 oxygen and PEEP 5 cmH₂O, deepened anesthesia with sevoflurane 4 MAC, rocuronium 10 mg IV, and methylprednisolone 125 mg IV. After stabilization, mechanical ventilation was resumed with down titration of oxygen fraction, and the procedure was completed successfully. This case highlights the importance of perioperative planning in severe COPD, particularly the need for preoperative pulmonary optimization and intraoperative vigilance. Rapid recognition and intervention in acute exacerbations are crucial to preventing hypoxemia and ventilatory failure. The use of tailored ventilation strategies and bronchodilator therapy contributed to the successful management of this high-risk patient. Anesthetic management in severe COPD requires a multidisciplinary approach, including preoperative pulmonary preparation, intraoperative lung-protective ventilation, and immediate intervention during exacerbations. This case underscores the importance of individualized anesthetic strategies to optimize surgical outcomes in patients with compromised respiratory function.

Abstract

Health services for individuals in productive age (15–59 years) are a crucial element in the Minimum Service Standards (SPM) for the health sector. The purpose of this study was to assess the achievement of SPM indicators for the Productive Age group and to identify the prevalence of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) at the Bukit Sangkal Health Center, Palembang City. Using a quantitative descriptive approach, data were taken from the Bukit Sangkal Health Center during the period of January to December 2024. This study involved an analysis of the number of visits for health checks and the distribution of NCD cases among the Productive Age group. The findings showed that the SPM target set at 100% was successfully achieved, indicating success in the early detection program and regular health checks. However, the prevalence of NCDs remained high, with Hypertension reaching 2,120 cases, Diabetes Mellitus 303 cases, and Obesity 47 cases, making them the most commonly recorded diseases. The discussion emphasized that these quantitative achievements do not fully reflect the success of the program if they are not accompanied by continuous follow-up, education, and behavioral change. The conclusion of this study is that although the target of achieving SPM has been achieved, health problems among the Productive Age group are still very significant and require a comprehensive and sustainable approach to reduce the burden of NCDs in society.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between insecure attachment and emotional dependence in romantic relationships in early adulthood. This quantitative study used convenience sampling method as the sampling process. Participants in this study were early adults in the age range of 18-25 years old who have been and or are in romantic relationships with a total of 150 participants. The measuring instrument used to measure insecure attachment uses the Indonesian version of the Experiences in Close Relationships-Revised (ECR-R) measuring instrument and emotional dependence is measured using the Emotional Dependence Questionnaire (EDQ). The results of data analysis show that there is a positive correlation between anxiety attachment and emotional dependence, while avoidant attachment shows a negative correlation to emotional dependence. The findings of these results are expected to provide new insights into the psychological dynamics in romantic relationships, especially in the context of insecure attachment patterns.

Abstract

In the highly competitive pharmaceutical industry, the success of manufacturing companies depends largely on their ability to meet consumer demand on time. However, many companies struggle to achieve their production lead time targets. PT Z, for instance, experiences high lead time during the tablet coating process, leading to failure in fulfilling forecasted demands and increased production costs. This study applies the Kaizen concept, which emphasizes continuous improvement, to enhance production efficiency. The objective is to analyze the effect of Kaizen implementation on production lead time and its subsequent impact on forecast fulfillment and production costs for film-coated tablets. A fishbone diagram was utilized to identify the root causes of the prolonged lead time. The research employed purposive sampling, selecting three film-coated tablet products based on Pareto analysis, with three batches observed for each product. Data were collected through direct observation and Tenaga Kerja Langsung (direct labor) forms. Linear regression was used to determine the relationship between variables, and a paired sample T-test was conducted to assess differences before and after Kaizen implementation. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS. The findings indicate that Kaizen implementation significantly reduced production lead time, resulting in a decrease in the lead time for film-coated tablets from 31.28 days to 27.66 days. This reduction led to an increase in forecast fulfillment from 93.72% to 127.55% and a decrease in production costs by 35.78%. In conclusion, the application of the Kaizen method effectively shortens production lead time and positively impacts order fulfillment and cost efficiency in film-coated tablet manufacturing.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a digital-based qualitative analysis form to assist in the evaluation process of inpatient medical records at Mardi Waluyo Regional General Hospital in Blitar City. Current documentation practices are still done manually, resulting in medical records that are often incomplete and inconsistent. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a simple Research and Development (R&D) approach. Qualitative analysis was conducted to assess the completeness and consistency of medical records, while the R&D approach was used in designing the electronic-based qualitative analysis form. Based on 30 medical record samples, several inconsistencies were identified, particularly in the completeness and consistency of nursing care notes. This digital form was developed to simplify the assessment process, improve accuracy, and reduce documentation errors. Equipped with automatic notifications and an Excel export feature, this form facilitates a more structured and efficient qualitative analysis process. This innovation is expected to support service quality improvement and be further developed into a more complex electronic qualitative analysis system in the future.

Abstract

Acne (Acne vulgaris) is a common chronic skin disorder, in which diet and sleep quality are suspected as risk factors. This study aims to analyze the relationship between diet and sleep quality with the appearance of acne in UINSU Tuntungan students. This study used a case-control design with a quantitative approach, involving 80 respondents selected by stratified random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the Chi-square test at a significance level of 5%. The results showed that 82.5% of respondents had a good diet and 60% had good sleep quality. However, there was no significant relationship between diet (p = 0.378) or sleep quality (p = 0.494) with the appearance of acne. Although there was a tendency for acne to appear more in respondents with poor diet and sleep patterns, it was not statistically significant. Therefore, understanding the causes of acne requires a more comprehensive approach.
