Abstract

The development of technology is very rapid, especially in the health sector, namely in the use of RME (Electronic Medical Records), one of the hospitals that runs RME is Lavalette Hospital Malang. The implementation of RME at Lavalette Hospital Malang uses the TAM (Technlogy Acceleration Model) method, which is by paying attention to five important constructs, including perceived ease of use (PEOU), perceived usefulness (PU), attitude toward using (ATU), behavioral intention to use (BIU), and actual system usage (ASU). This aims to evaluate the acceptance rate of RME by health workers such as medical record heads, medical record officers, doctors, nurses, and even IT (Information Technology) officers with a focus on ease of use, usability, attitude towards use, intention to use, and actual use of the system. Methods: This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach through structured interviews and participatory observations. Results: The results of the study show that the implementation of RME at Lavalette Hospital Malang has a positive impact on productivity and ease of work, although there are obstacles in implementation such as system errors and training needs. This research is expected to provide recommendations for the improvement of the RME system in hospitals as well as practical benefits for health and educational institutions. Conclusion: The RME switch at Lavalette Hospital Malang has shown good progress because it has been integrated by the installations there. However, for its optimization, periodic evaluations are needed.

Abstract

Medical audits aim to improve the quality of health services and ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs). The application of electronic medical records (RME) at Ngudi Waluyo Wlingi Hospital to improve documentation efficiency and reduce recording errors. This study aims to analyze the management of medical audits on electronic medical records at Ngudi Waluyo Wlingi Hospital, focusing on audit procedures, human resource factors, and facilities and infrastructure that support the implementation of medical audits. The method used in this study is qualitative with a descriptive approach, which is carried out through in-depth interviews and observations. The informants in this study consisted of the doctor conducting the audit, the head of the IT unit, and the head of the medical record. The results of the study show that the medical audit procedure has been carried out in accordance with applicable standards, but there are still obstacles in coordination between teams and lack of training for auditors and medical personnel. The human resource factor is the main challenge, where the limited understanding of medical personnel on audit procedures and the use of the RME system has an impact on the effectiveness of audits. To increase the effectiveness of medical audits, it is necessary to increase training for medical personnel and auditors, strengthen coordination between audit teams and medical staff, and optimize the RME system to make it more integrated and accessible. The implementation of audit recommendations in hospital policies must be improved to support continuous service improvement.

Abstract

Field Work Practice (PKL) is an important part of the education of the Medical Records and Health Information Study Program (RMIK) to hone students' skills in the real world of work. The ability to code diagnoses, as the main competency in the Codification and Classification of Diseases and Health Problems (KKPMT) course, is very important for RMIK students. Student readiness in street vendors is a key factor in determining the quality of graduates. Preliminary studies show that D3 RMIK ITSK RS. Dr. Soepraoen Hospital batch 2022-2023 students are not fully ready to undergo street vendors, especially in the practical application of KKPMT materials. This study aims to analyze the relationship between clinical codification ability and street vendor readiness. The method used was quantitative with a cross-sectional approach, involving 120 respondents through total sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire that measured clinical codification ability (independent variable) and street vendor readiness (dependent variable). Data analysis using the Kendall test Tau_b showed very high questionnaire reliability (Cronbach's Alpha = 1,000). The results showed a weak negative relationship between clinical codification ability and street vendor readiness (correlation coefficient = -0.115), but not statistically significant (p-value = 0.125 > 0.05). This means that there is no significant relationship between the two variables, so H1 is rejected and H0 is accepted. These findings indicate that other factors, such as communication skills, mastery of other materials, or previous practical experience, may have more influence on street vendor readiness. This research is the basis for exploring other factors that affect students' readiness to face street vendors.

Abstract

Malaria is a communicable disease that remains a significant public health problem in Indonesia and can be fatal. University students, as a productive age group, play an important role in disease prevention efforts. This study aims to analyze the habits of using mosquito repellent as a preventive measure against malaria mosquito bites among students of the Faculty of Public Health at UINSU Tuntungan. This research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive design. The sample size of 101 respondents was determined using the Slovin formula from a population of 442 students with a 10% margin of error. Primary data were collected through an online questionnaire. The results showed that 62.4% of students used mosquito repellent, yet 69.3% still experienced mosquito bites within the past week. Most used repellents daily (39.6%) and in the bedroom (82.2%), with spray repellents being the most common choice (45.5%). These findings indicate that although awareness of repellent use is relatively high, consistency in usage and selecting effective products need to be improved to support optimal malaria prevention.

Abstract

Aging is a progressive process that affects the functionality and maximum capacity of all organs, including the skin. In the elderly population (age >65), skin aging leads to conditions like xerosis senilis, pruritus senilis, and senile comedones, which are commonly observed. Xerosis senilis, or dry skin, results from impaired skin barrier function, increased transepidermal water loss, reduced skin hydration, and decreased lipid components such as ceramides, cholesterol, and free fatty acids in the stratum corneum. These factors make the skin more susceptible to infections, ulcerations, and chronic wounds. This condition manifests as dry, fissured, and rough skin, particularly on the extremities, and can progress to inflammation or infections, impacting quality of life through discomfort, stress, and daily activity interference. Xerosis affects approximately 50% of the elderly, with global prevalence ranging from 29.5% to 85%, correlating with increased age. While the exact risk factors for xerosis senilis remain unclear, genetic, environmental, and comorbid conditions such as hypertension, renal impairment, and diabetes mellitus are implicated. This review examines these risk factors and their mechanisms in contributing to xerosis senilis in the elderly population.

Abstract

Dental caries remains a significant global health issue, primarily caused by an imbalance between demineralization and remineralization of tooth structures. While fluoride has been the primary agent in caries prevention, recent studies highlight the importance of nutritional factors, particularly vitamin D and K2, in promoting tooth remineralization. These vitamins are critical in calcium metabolism, extracellular matrix regulation, and enamel and dentin mineralization. However, research on their synergistic effects in caries prevention remains limited. The potential integration of vitamins D and K2 into the framework of preventive dentistry could represent a groundbreaking and innovative strategy aimed at augmenting the remineralization process and subsequently mitigating the overall risk of developing caries among individuals. Vitamin D and K2 are essential for tooth remineralization, but the combined impact of vitamin D and K2 in preventing caries is scarce. Integrating vitamin D and K2 into preventive dentistry may offer a novel strategy for enhancing remineralization and reducing caries risk. Further clinical studies are needed to establish evidence-based recommendations.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of the 25 Basic Kader Orientation on the implementation of Posyandu with the Integration of Primary Health Services (ILP). The 25 Basic Kader Orientation is expected to improve the skills of Posyandu cadres in managing Posyandu and providing comprehensive health services across all age groups. Using a quantitative approach, data was collected through observations and interviews with 30 Posyandu cadres from various Posyandu centers in area kelurahan sukapuara. The results of the study showed that most cadres showed significant improvement in their skills in Posyandu management as well as in health services for infants, toddlers, pregnant women, and adults. However, there were challenges related to the lack of skills in providing services for adult and elderly groups, which is a key focus in the implementation of ILP. Implementation evaluation revealed variations in skills among cadres, with some successfully integrating primary health services while others still require improvement. Therefore, there is a need for ongoing efforts to strengthen cadre training comprehensively to improve the quality of public health services optimally.
