Abstract

Cases of environmental pollution in Indonesia are still relatively high and are one of the causes of the increasing number of infectious diseases such as diarrhea, cholera, and hepatitis A. One of the factors that influence this condition is the low knowledge and concern of the community towards environmental sanitation, including in educational environments such as Islamic boarding schools. This study aims to determine the effect of santri's knowledge of environmental sanitation and their caring attitude towards environmental hygiene at the Daarul Istiqlal Islamic Boarding School in Medan, Patumbak District. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The population in this study were all ninth grade students as many as 128 people, with a sample of 70 students taken through random sampling techniques using the Slovin formula. The instruments used consisted of a knowledge test and an attitude questionnaire with a Likert scale. The results showed that the students' knowledge was in the excellent category with an average score of 86.64, while their caring attitude was in the good category with an average score of 75.87. Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis showed a positive and significant relationship between knowledge and students' caring attitude towards environmental cleanliness with a correlation value of 0.497 and a significance value of 0.001 (p < 0.05). This shows that the higher the knowledge of the students, the higher their caring attitude towards environmental cleanliness.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the viability and structural stability of L-PRF at 37°C over 14 days. It aims to determine its sustained growth factor release and potential effectiveness in regenerative clinical applications. This research employed a Systematic Journal Review (SJR) approach, surveying articles from databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar using specific keywords related to L-PRF. A total of 25 articles meeting the inclusion criteria were filtered for analysis. Furthermore, common experimental methods described in the literature include the preparation of L-PRF via blood centrifugation and viability testing over 14 days at 37°C, encompassing analysis of microscopic structure, mechanical properties, and biochemical and biological activities. Literature analysis indicates that L-PRF is an effective autologous biomaterial for regenerative applications, capable of continuously releasing growth factors such as PDGF, TGF-β, VEGF, and IGF for up to 14 days at body temperature. Cell viability within the fibrin matrix is maintained, positioning L-PRF as a promising active biological scaffold for accelerating tissue healing. Although challenges such as matrix degradation persist, modification strategies and optimized centrifugation protocols can enhance the effectiveness and durability of L-PRF in clinical applications.

Abstract

Malnutrition in older adults is an increasingly important public health issue, particularly as the proportion of the elderly population in Indonesia continues to rise. This condition is driven by a complex interplay of physiological, psychological, social, and economic factors that contribute to nutritional imbalance. This study aims to identify and analyze the determinants of malnutrition among older adults in Indonesia through a systematic review of relevant observational studies. A literature review was conducted using the PIOT framework to guide the search strategy. Data were retrieved from three major databases (Google Scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect) using specific keywords in both Indonesian and English. Included articles were published between 2020 and 2025 and met inclusion criteria based on relevance, study design, and full-text accessibility. Of the 25,593 articles screened, 10 studies met the inclusion criteria. The findings indicate that malnutrition among older adults in Indonesia is influenced by various factors, including chronic diseases, depression, cognitive decline, advanced age, low levels of education and income, dependence in daily activities, inadequate intake of energy and micronutrients, and limited social and family support. Malnutrition in older adults is a multifactorial condition requiring a holistic and multidisciplinary intervention approach. Prevention and management strategies should involve family support, nutrition education, promotion of functional independence, and improved access to healthcare services and nutritious food.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the management of the release of medical records at Panti Waluya Sawahan Hospital Malang based on the Standard Operating Procedure (SPO) document Number RM.32.2022. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive research that describes the results of the evaluation of the release of medical record information at Panti Waluya Sawahan Hospital Malang. The method used is qualitative descriptive with observation techniques through document study and content analysis. The results of the evaluation show that although SPO has established normative requirements and flows for the release of medical information, its implementation still faces various obstacles. Among them are non-compliance of third parties who often do not attach power of attorney, inconsistencies in verification of applicants' identities, lack of service time standards, and reliance on manual documentation. These findings indicate the need to revise SOPs with the addition of technical guidelines for third parties, determination of service times, and the implementation of a digital recording system through SIMRS. These improvements are important to improve data security, service efficiency, and compliance with applicable legal regulations.

Abstract

Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate is a derivative of vitamin C used as an active ingredient in anti-acne creams. According to the literature, the concentration of Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate used in anti-acne creams ranges from 0.5% to 5%. The maximum concentration considered effective for treating acne is 5%. The evaluation was conducted on physical parameters including organoleptic properties, homogeneity, viscosity, and pH under storage conditions at room temperature (20°C–30°C) and warm temperature (30°C–40°C) for four weeks. Antimicrobial activity testing was carried out using the cylinder diffusion method. The results of the antimicrobial activity test showed that the higher the concentration of Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, the greater the inhibitory effect on the growth of Staphylococcus epidermidis. The study demonstrated that an increase in Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate concentration is directly proportional to the increase in inhibitory activity against Staphylococcus epidermidis growth. Storage at room temperature showed better physical stability and antimicrobial activity compared to storage at warm temperature. Therefore, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate is proven to be effective as an active ingredient in anti-acne cream formulations.

Abstract

The prevalence of anemia among adolescent girls in Indonesia remains high, reaching 84.6%, with Lampung Province having the highest prevalence in Sumatra at 63%. The government's iron supplementation program has not yet reached its target, reaching only 81.16% of the 95% target. A pre-survey at Baitul Jannah Islamic High School (SMA IT) showed that 66.6% of female students are anemic. This study aims to determine factors associated with anemia prevention in adolescent girls at the school by 2025. This study used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design conducted at SMA IT Baitul Jannah Bandar Lampung from October 2024 to July 2025. The population consisted of 94 female students in grades X and XI, with a sample of 84 students determined using the Slovin formula and purposive sampling technique. Independent variables included knowledge, attitudes, and family support, while the dependent variable was anemia prevention efforts. Data were collected through questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability, then analyzed univariately and bivariately using the chi-square test. The results of the study revealed no relationship between knowledge (p-value = 0.192), attitude (p-value = 0.694), and family support (p-value = 0.041 and OR = 3.750) with anemia prevention efforts in adolescent girls. Schools can conduct routine education about anemia by inviting health workers to students, teachers, parents, and school officials with interesting media.

Abstract

Stunting is a disorder that affects the growth and development of toddlers, characterised by the child's length or height not being commensurate with that of the same age. The existence of mothers of toddlers who do not understand how to prevent stunting, especially in terms of food processing, meeting nutritional needs, and the importance of monitoring child growth and development, will affect the incidence of stunting. Objective: This research was conducted to determine the relationship between mothers' knowledge and stunting prevention behaviours in toddlers. Method: The research method used was quantitative with a correlational study design and a cross-sectional design. The sample in this study consisted of 45 mothers of toddlers selected using purposive sampling techniques. The analysis performed was univariate and bivariate using Spearman's rank test. Result: This research showed the results of the Spearman's rank test, obtained (p = 0.003 <α = 0.05). This means there was a correlation between maternal knowledge and stunting prevention behaviour on toddlers in the BLUD UPT Puskesmas Palangka Raya working area. Conclusion: Mothers with a basic understanding of stunting tend to have implemented most stunting prevention practices, such as exclusive breastfeeding, appropriate complementary feeding, and growth monitoring in toddlers, although not yet optimal. Therefore, efforts to reduce the prevalence of stunting through primary prevention must be further enhanced by optimising health promotion so that mothers gain a deeper understanding and broader knowledge of stunting and implement preventive behaviour appropriately.
