Abstract

Assessment is an inseparable part of the learning process. However, teachers in the ABCD5E learning model do not conduct assessments optimally. In the results of discussions and questionnaires, more than 65% found it difficult to conduct assessments. This encourages the creators of the ABCD5E learning model to find techniques to make it easier for PAUD teachers to conduct assessments with the ABCD5E learning model. The creator of the ABCD5E learning model adopted the STAR technique from DDI. The purpose of this research is to determine the effectiveness of the STAR Technique (Situation, Task, Action, and Result) in learning with the ABCD5E model to improve PAUD teachers' assessment skills. The research method used was experimental, using a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The results showed an increase in the ability of teachers to conduct assessments using the STAR technique in the implementation of the ABCD5E learning model.

Abstract

The large amount of unprocessed waste in the school environment triggers an unpleasant odor in the school environment. This disrupts the learning process. Learning through real experience is more quickly understood by children. Early childhood students develop an understanding of environmental literacy by doing basic things such as sorting and disposing of waste and turning it into eco-enzymes which help reduce the negative impact of waste on the environment. The research aims to foster children's environmental literacy, apply the character of loving the environment, and children's understanding of the process of processing organic waste into eco enzymes. This research uses a qualitative approach, and data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. Checking the validity of the data uses source triangulation. The data analysis technique comes from Miles and Huberman through a process of data reduction, data presentation, and validation. The research results show that the eco enzyme project can foster children's environmental literacy skills. It can be seen that children can dispose of waste according to the color of the trash can, children can classify types of waste that are easily decomposed and suitable to be made into eco enzymes and children can process waste into fertilizer and pesticides to help reduce waste in the environment.

Abstract

This paper aims to elaborate my reflection on the instructional practices of physics teachers in theory and experimental classes at technical institutions in the Kathmandu district. I employed an ethnographic research design to conduct the research. I selected two technical institutions in the Kathmandu district to conduct the research, two theory classrooms, and two physics laboratories of those institutions for the participant observation process, and conducted open-ended and unstructured interviews with nine students from those institutions. I observed multiple theory and experimental classes for the entire semester period as a complete observer. In addition, I employed social constructivist learning theory to guide the whole research process. The findings from this study indicated that traditional teacher-centric pedagogical practices were prevalent at those technical institutions.

Abstract

Online technology' inclusion into medical education has transformed teaching strategies in recent years and offers fresh chances to improve learning environments and meet the changing needs of students and teachers. This study uses a thorough evaluation of the literature and empirical data to investigate, via online medical education, adoption, impact, and optimization tactics. The aim is to find important elements influencing their adoption, study the efficacy of online technologies in teaching medical topics, and suggest ways of best using them. Data was gathered from 120 people—including lecturers and students—across several departments of Rao University using a mixed-methods methodology. The results show notable good opinions on the usage of online learning technology; among medical teachers, Google Classroom is becoming the favored platform. Still, two main shortcomings were found to be technological problems and a lack of practical expertise. The findings lead to suggestions on how to make online medical education more effective: better access to materials, interactive learning settings, and addressing of communication restrictions among other things. All things considered, this study adds to the body of knowledge already in use by shedding light on the state of online medical education presently and by making doable suggestions for future expansion and application.

Abstract

Inclusive education is increasingly recognized as a critical component in ensuring equitable access to quality education for all students, regardless of their abilities or backgrounds. However, in Indonesia, the development and implementation of inclusive education practices remain uneven, with limited understanding of its growth and impact within the local context. This study aims to analyze inclusive education in Indonesia through bibliometric analysis, addressing six key questions: the most frequent keywords, trends in scholarly publications, prolific researchers, citation rates, influential journals, and collaboration patterns with other countries. Data from Scopus over the past decade resulted in 148 relevant articles, covering a wide range of topics from [Topic 1] to [Topic 2]. Findings reveal a predominant focus on inclusive education concepts in Indonesian literature, experiencing significant growth peaking in 2023. The study identifies 12 highly active authors with 98 articles and the top 10 most cited articles receiving 219 citations. Notably, research in 2020 achieved the highest citation rate, with 111 citations. The International Journal of Special Education emerged as the primary publication outlet. Indonesia collaborated with 13 countries, notably Malaysia, Australia, and the United States. These findings provide a robust foundation for developing inclusive education concepts and practices tailored to Indonesia's specific needs and context.

Abstract

The quality of teaching is a critical factor in educational success, and innovative tools like SimLab offer promising opportunities for enhancement. This research aims to analyze how SimLab user responses contribute to the development of teaching skills among students and to identify the challenges encountered during its implementation. A mixed-methods approach was employed, involving bilingual PGSD students from Unesa as the subjects of the study. Data were collected through a combination of surveys, interviews, and observations, with analysis conducted using both quantitative and qualitative methods. The findings indicate that SimLab significantly enhances various aspects of teaching proficiency, such as boosting self-confidence, improving the effectiveness of lesson delivery, engaging avatar students, interpreting avatar student body language and voice, providing constructive feedback, and fostering relationships with the avatars. However, the research also uncovers several challenges students face, including academic difficulties in adapting teaching methods to diverse student profiles, cultural obstacles related to the student's cultural adaptation, and technical challenges, such as unstable internet connections and limited technological facilities. The study concludes that while SimLab has substantial potential as a tool for preparing competent future educators, addressing these challenges is crucial for maximizing its effectiveness.
