Abstract

The final project aims to restore the function of the slotting attachment of the milling machine in the Bangka Belitung State Polman laboratory workshop which was damaged. The repair of the slotting attachment aims to optimize the performance of the slotting so that it can operate normally. The slotting repair process on the milling machine begins with identifying and analyzing the damage using the method 5 whys analysis. The damage found was damage to the slotting component, damage to the eccentric shaft, damage to the bushing, bushing. The repair process carried out was to replace damaged and worn components. From the results of the repair, the slotting attachment was able to function properly again.

Abstract

As the number of vehicles in Indonesia increases, the need for battery monitoring systems becomes more crucial. This study develops a battery performance monitoring system for motorcycles integrated with a mobile application based on Mit app inventor. The system utilizes an ESP32 microcontroller along with voltage, current (INA219), and temperature (DS18B20) sensors to read battery parameters in real-time. The State of Charge (SoC) is calculated using a modified coulomb counting algorithm. An active protection feature using a relay is included to prevent overcharging, overcurrent, and short circuits. Test results show that under normal conditions, battery voltage ranges from 10.5V to 12.37V with an average load current of 233.4 mA. During a 30-minute charging process, the SoC increased by 10% with an average charging voltage of 14.97V. Data is displayed in real-time via an LCD and the mobile application, enabling users to efficiently monitor battery status and take preventive actions. This system enhances the reliability and safety of battery usage in motorcycles.

Abstract

Color blindness is a condition that affects a person's ability to distinguish colors, which often interferes with daily activities. This research aims to create a color detection device that can help people with color blindness to accurately recognize the colors of objects around them. This tool uses the TCS34725 sensor, which is known for its ability to detect RGB colors, and the Arduino Mega Pro Mini as the data processing platform. In its implementation, it outputs a color signal or information through a speaker, allowing color-blind users to understand the detected colors. Tests were conducted under various lighting conditions to determine the accuracy of the tool. The results show that this tool is effective in helping people with color blindness identify basic colors, although there are limitations that need to be considered. The color detector designed using TCS34725 color sensor and Arduino Mega Pro Mini microcontroller has recognized various colors with sound output and is able to detect various colors such as red, green, blue, yellow, purple, and so on, with sufficient success in stable lighting conditions.

Abstract

The management of paper money in mosque donation boxes has been done manually, which can lead to delays in recording and the risk of discrepancies in the amount of money. To address this issue, an Internet of Things (IoT) based system has been designed that can automatically count, record, and monitor the incoming paper money in the donation box. This system aims to facilitate the mosque committee in managing incoming funds more efficiently, transparently, and accountably. This system uses several key components such as a paper money detection sensor, a microcontroller, a solenoid to control the mechanism for money entry, an LCD screen to display the nominal amount, and IoT connectivity for real-time data transmission. When money is inserted, the sensor will read the nominal amount, activate the solenoid to direct the money to the storage, and automatically record the transaction data. This information is then sent.

Abstract

The manual package sorting process in the shipping industry is time-consuming and prone to errors. This study aims to design and build an automatic package sorting system to improve efficiency and accuracy. The design method used is VDI 2222 which includes the stages of analysis, conceptualization, design, and completion. The system utilizes a conveyor as a package transfer path, ESP32‑CAM with OCR to read area codes, ultrasonic sensors to detect package presence, and servo motors as guide actuators. The test results show that ESP32‑CAM successfully reads area codes such as “SGL‑B‑06”, “SGL‑B‑07”, and “SGL‑B‑08” accurately; the ultrasonic sensor has an average deviation of 0.32cm; and the entire series completes sorting in less than 30 seconds per package. The implementation of this tool has been proven to optimize the sorting process, minimize manual intervention, and increase the speed and accuracy of package separation based on destination.

Abstract

Centrifugal pumps are one type of pump that is widely used in industry and everyday life. This learning media is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the working principles, components, and applications of centrifugal pumps. In the working principles section, it is explained how centrifugal pumps move fluids using centrifugal force generated by a rotating impeller. Fluids enter through the inlet and are accelerated by the impeller, then released through the outlet with higher pressure. The main components of centrifugal pumps such as impellers, casings, shaft seals, and bearings are also explained in detail. Each component has an important function and role in pump efficiency and performance. In this final project, the author developed a learning media for pump disassembly and assembly to meet the material achievements in the syllabus. The methods used in this final project are data collection, identification of component needs, development of plans, creation of learning media, trial of learning media and implementation. After the development of learning media, it is hoped that the learning of the practical course on pump component disassembly and assembly and repair can be met so as to increase knowledge and understanding as well as skills for students.

Abstract

Abstract is arranged in one paragraph, single line spacing with Times New Criminal acts, particularly home burglaries—whether in occupied or unoccupied houses—are still frequently reported. This pushes homeowners to be more vigilant in securing their properties. Despite technological advancements, especially in the field of the Internet of Things (IoT), existing home security systems are still not fully effective. This research proposes a home security system called HERO (Home Reliability Operations) based on IoT, which operates automatically and in real-time. The system uses a PIR sensor to detect movement, an ESP32-CAM OV2640 for visual monitoring, and a buzzer as an alarm alert. To secure entry points, magnetic switch sensors and solenoid door locks are installed on doors and windows. All components are controlled by a NodeMCU ESP32 as the central processor and connectivity hub, and the system is integrated with the Blynk platform for remote monitoring and control via an Android application. This system is expected to improve home security by enabling early detection of suspicious activity and providing real-time alerts to homeowners.

Abstract

This research uses quantitative data analysis by applying the hardware design method. The hardware system consists of a TCS3200 sensor circuit based on an Arduino Uno microcontroller. Color sensor to detect object color and 16x2 LCD to display output in the form of information on the type of color detected. This research aims to detect colors to help people with color blindness, this tool is able to detect 3 colors in RGB space. Based on the overall test results that the color sensor reading will always depend on the ambient light intensity and the distance between the sensor and the object. However, this tool has been successfully designed and can work properly and correctly as desired. In this study, testing on patients with color blindness cannot be said to be effective because there are still people with color blindness who fail to use the tool.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and repair damage to the Fehlmann P18s milling machine No. 04 used in the Mechanical Laboratory of Polman Babel. The machine was inoperable due to electrical system failure and a malfunction in the Quick Tool Change System (QTCS). A Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) method using the 5 Why analysis was applied to identify the root causes. The investigation revealed failures in electrical components such as contactors, selector switches, push buttons, fuses, capacitors, and diodes caused by unstable current. Furthermore, the QTCS could not clamp the tool holder properly due to corrosion on spindle components, bearings, and housing. The repair process involved replacing and cleaning damaged parts, followed by re-testing including geometric and functional tests. The testing showed that the machine was successfully restored to its operational state and complied with geometric precision standards. As a preventive measure, a time-based preventive maintenance plan was developed for both the electrical system and the QTCS to avoid recurring failures. This project proves that the RCFA method is effective in analyzing machine issues systematically and comprehensively.

Abstract

A locker is a place used to store items such as clothes, books, documents, and others. Technological developments in security systems are also very necessary, especially in security systems for storing goods and documents in lockers. The security system on traditional lockers that are widely circulated today is still conventional, in the sense that the security of the locker door still uses a manual locking mechanism and there are many ways of hacking to open the locker easily, which is less safe and efficient. The results of this study indicate that the locker system with dual security is very effective for security in storing goods, with the existence of this system in addition to the owner who uses the locker can not open the locker by guessing like in lockers in general that are still conventional, with this system requires fingerprint identification (scan fingerprint) and wireless card (RFID) to open the safe.
