Abstract

Fiber is one of the nutrients that has an important role in the body but the level of consumption is not paid attention to by the public. Along with the rapid progress of the times, it has had an impact on changes in the lifestyle of the Indonesian people, ranging from unhealthy eating patterns to lack of physical activity. The purpose of this community service is to provide information on the utilization of food waste into food with high fiber content and the development of corn bran biscuit products with kepok banana flour and increase mother's knowledge about the importance of fiber for the body. The method of this activity is through community education to help increase participants' information and understanding about the importance of fiber for our bodies. The results of this activity showed that there was an increase in participants' knowledge about the importance of fiber for our bodies. The percentage of participants with good knowledge category before attending the counseling was 60% (pre-test) and increased to 93.7% after attending the counseling (post-test). The conclusion of this activity is that corn bran can be processed into food sources of fiber. This activity was greeted with great enthusiasm and went smoothly, it is hoped that similar activities will be held in the future

Abstract

Health promotion in adolescents is one of the alternative solutions to improve the health status of the community. Efforts that can be made in Islamic boarding schools are through the revitalization of Poskestren and adolescent health cadres . This activity aims to initiate and train youth health cadres in Islamic boarding schools. The activity was carried out in September 2021 at the Hidayatullah Tondo Islamic Boarding School and the Liwa'ul Haq Islamic Boarding School in Palu City. The method of activity is through surveys, brain storming and discussion, simulations and demonstrations. The results show that pesantren health posts (Poskestren) have been successfully established in 2 activity locations. There is an increase in the knowledge of Poskestren cadres from before being given training compared to after being given training. It is recommended that this activity can be continued and the need for further training activities with other contents such as basic health, environmental health, reproductive health and others.

Abstract

Food diversification is one way to improve the nutritional quality of food in meeting food needs. Banana is one of the local plants that is easy to grow in tropical areas such as Indonesia. Banana plant is a type of plant that does not know the season that is rich in nutritional value. The banana peel ice cream product is one example of food diversification as an effort to utilize local food waste, namely banana peels where the use of banana peels is still limited. The purpose of this activity is to utilize local food waste and provide information and examples of processing banana peel waste. The results of this activity show that the nutritional content for 1 ice cream recipe contains 4897.6 kcal of energy, 64.86 grams of protein, 233.52 grams of fat, 596.6 grams of carbohydrates and 91.74 grams of fiber. In 1 recipe can be made into 30 cups of ice cream with a weight of 70 gr each. This activity can be accepted by the community, the community can also understand how to process plantain peel waste into a fiber-rich ice cream dessert. It is hoped that food waste utilization activities can be carried out in a sustainable manner so that the community can increase knowledge and understanding related to food waste.

Abstract

One of the standard recommendations to prevent the spread of infections, including COVID-19, is through regular hand washing. Transmission of the COVID-19 virus can occur when someone touches an item that may have been contaminated by other people's droplets. However, there were still 24,62% of Indonesian people do not obey to wash their hands properly. During the COVID-19 pandemic, washing hands with soap at school is very important to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. The purpose of this activity was to improve student behavior in washing hands with soap properly. This activity was carried out by a team of lecturers and students of the D3 Sanitation Study Program, Poltekkes, the Ministry of Health, Palu together with SD Inpres 2 Parigimpuu. The method of activity, namely counseling, simulation, and demonstration through gymnastics for the students of SD Inpres 2 Parigimpuu. As a result of this activity, students knew how to wash their hands with soap correctly and are able to practice it.

Abstract

The female adolescent is an important target for stunting reduction efforts. Adolescence is a pubertal phase with fast physical, psychological, and social growth and development. Unicef reported in Adolescent Profile 2021 that 40% of adolescents aged 15-19 yo who have low food consumption variety is related to economic factors. This community service was a balanced nutrition and anemia education among female adolescents at Ampana Tete Sub-District, Tojo Una-Una Regency. This community service was conducted in two villages (Bantuga and Uebone). Activities conducted are balanced nutrition and anemia education, distribution of iron supplement tablets, and promotion of “My Meal Plate” by using the banner. The result of pre and post-test showed that the knowledge of female adolescents was increased after conducting education.

Abstract

Fase remaja merupakan fase kritis kehidupan dimana pertumbuhan terjadi sangat cepat (tercepat kedua setelah fase bayi) sehingga pemenuhan kebutuhan asupan gizi sangat penting untuk mendukung pertumbuhan. Promosi kesehatan pada remaja menjadi salah satu alternatif solusi untuk meningkatkan derajat kesehatan masyarakat. Program posyandu remaja merupakan suatu wadah yang diharapkan dapat memfasilitasi remaja dalam memahami permasalahan Kesehatan remaja serta memperluas peluang jangkauan akses pelayanan kesehatan remaja. Kondisi pandemi covid 19 berdampak pada kesehatan remaja. Masalah gizi pada remaja yang belum teratasi dengan baik tentu akan berkontribusi pada tingginya angka kejadian penularan virus covid 19 pada remaja. Meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh adalah salah satu kunci agar tidak tertular virus covid 19 yang dilakukan dengan cara makanan makanan bergizi seimbang, cuci tangan dengan air mengalir dan sabun serta rutin berolahraga. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan mengedukasi gizi seimbang pada remaja di masa pandemi dan penentuan status gizi. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada hari Selasa tanggal 28 Juni 2022 bertempat mamboro barat dengan peserta sebanyak 27 remaja. Masih terdapat masalah gizi obesitas, berat badan lebih (Overwight), dan kurus pada remaja. Ada peningkatan pengetahuan sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan. Saran keberlajutan, perlu adanya kegiatan penyuluhan sinergis pada kegiatan Posyandu Remaja.

Abstract

Posyandu merupakan salah satu bentuk Upaya Kesehatan Berbasis Masyarakat (UKBM) yang dapat digunakan untuk mempercepat penurunan angka kematian ibu dan bayi. Program Posyandu tidak akan efektif atau berjalan dengan semestinya tanpa adanya dukungan dari pihak lain termaksud salah satunya adalah kader Posyandu. Tugas kader Posyandu cukup berat dalam mengelola dan melayani masyarakat, karena Posyandu merupakan sarana yang diciptakan dan dikembangkan atas kesadaran dan upaya sendiri atas partisipasi sosial setiap komunitas di desa dan di kota. Kurangnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader posyandu berakibat kurang baiknya pemantauan tumbuh kembang balita sehingga kesehatan anak tidak akan termonitor dengan baik. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan kader posyandu dalam pengukuran tinggi badan dan berat badan balita agar tidak terjadi kesalahan dalam penentuan status gizi balita. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan melakukan observasi, penyuluhan, praktek pengukuran serta pengukuran pengetahuan kader posyandu. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukan rata-rata nilai peserta sebelum mengikuti pelatihan 46,6 dan meningkat menjadi 76 setelah mengikuti pelatihan. Selain itu, berdasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh rata-rata peningkatan sebesar 11,5. Pengetahuan kader dalam pengukuran tinggi badan dan berat badan mengalami peningkatan, begitu juga dalam praktek penerapan pengukurannya. Peningkatan pengetahuan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan kader posyandu dalam pengukuran tinggi badan dan berat badan balita sehingga tumbuh kembang balita dapat dimonitor.

Abstract

Wasting is one of the malnutrition that occurs in children and is a nutritional problem that is currently still occurring in Indonesia with the prevalence of wasting in Indonesia in 2021 namely 7.1% while in Tangerang City it is 5.9% in 2021. The purpose of the implementation of this program is to increase the knowledge of pregnant and lactating mothers at Posyandu Kenanga 1, Cipadu Village, Larangan District, Tangerang City regarding exclusive breastfeeding and complementary feeding. The method used in the implementation of this program is counseling and cooking demonstrations using leaflet as a media through 3 stages, namely the stages of preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Based on the implementation of the "KASIH IBU", it was found that there was an increase in knowledge of the respondents which was indicated by a P-value of 0.001 obtained through pre-test and post-test data. Based on the programs that have been carried out, it shows that there is an increase in knowledge of the respondents and respondents like the menu of the RUAS TOL which is demonstrated and respondents think that this program is well implemented, so that educational programs like this are important to do in order to increase knowledge in the community.

Abstract

Rangkaian ujian bagi siswa SMA dapat menyebabkan kecemasan. Gizi seimbang dapat menjaga kebugaran yang dapat meningkatkan performa saat ujian. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa tentang gizi seimbang khususnya supaya fit saat ujian. Metode yang dipakai dalam kegiatan edukasi memiliki dua tahap. Tahap pertama adalah ceramah materi pedoman gizi seimbang secara umum sebagai pengantar. Kegiatan dilanjutkan dengan permainan mitos atau fakta. Pada pertengahan program akan dilakukan aktivitas fisik ringan. Program didesain dengan menarik dan interaktif untuk meningkatkan partisipasi siswa. Kegiatan diikuti oleh 393 siswa kelas XII terdiri dari 319 dari SMA 7 Semarang dan 74 siswa dari MAN 1 Suruh Kabupaten Semarang. Sebelum edukasi dilakukan, semua siswa telah tahu pentingnya sarapan, namun tidak tahu berapa porsi pangan sumber karbohidrat dalam satu kali makan. Sebagian besar juga salah dalam menjawab kebutuhan minyak sehari dan frekuensi olah raga seminggu. Selain itu, banyak yang masih menjawab makanan manis dapat membuat relaks dan “mood” menjadi baik. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan rerata skor pengetahuan dan ada perbedaan skor pengetahuan sebelum dan sesudah edukasi (p<0.0001). Metode edukasi pada kegiatan ini dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa terkait gizi seimbang untuk meningkatkan performa saat ujian.

Abstract

Anemia adalah masalah kesehatan masyarakat yang tersebar luas dan umum yang didefinisikan dengan penurunan jumlah sel darah merah dalam sirkulasi atau tingkat hemoglobin di bawah normal. Remaja putri merupakan salah satu kelompok yang rawan menderita anemia dengan prevalensi risiko anemia sepuluh kali lebih besar dibandingkan remaja putra. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah mengetahui gambaran pengetahuan dan sikap remaja putri tentang anemia di MTs DDI Lapeo Kecamatan Campalagian Kabupaten Polewali Mandar disertai dengan pembagian tablet tambah darah. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 40. Media yang digunakan adalah kuesioner, leaflet serta Tablet Tambah Darah. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa siswi yang memiliki pengetahuan kategori baik yaitu 10%, siswi yang memiliki pengetahuan kategori cukup yaitu 50% dan siswi yang memiliki pengetahuan kategori kurang baik yaitu 40% dan hasil yang diperoleh berdasarkan sikap siswi yang memiliki sikap kategori baik yaitu 92,5%, siswi yang memiliki sikap kategori cukup yaitu 5% dan siswi yang memiliki sikap kategori kurang baik yaitu 2,5%. Melalui kegitan ini, diharapkan adanya kerjasama dengan pihak sekolah untuk aktif dalam memberikan penyuluhan mengenai anemia gizi dan tindakan pencegahannya.
