Abstract

Currently, there are still many early childhood education (PAUD) teachers, particularly in remote areas, who teach with limited knowledge and without clear guidelines or a solid foundation for planning lessons, teaching, and evaluating students, as is the case at Padilatul Jihad PAUD. These conditions prompted the conduct of a study titled “Enhancing Early Childhood Education Teachers’ Ability to Plan Lessons through In-House Training at Padilatul Jihad Preschool.” The low proficiency of teachers in developing lesson plans is characterized by the monotonous application of drilling methods and a lack of variety in learning activities, with most teachers focusing primarily on reading and counting. This study aims to improve the ability of Padilatul Jihad PAUD teachers to develop lesson plans using the Kemmis and Taggart classroom action research model. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), and questionnaires, while data analysis utilized qualitative descriptive techniques. The results of the study indicate an improvement in teachers’ abilities of up to 78%, which falls into the “good” category, thereby proving that the In-House Training model is effective in enhancing teachers’ ability to plan lessons at Padilatul Jihad Early Childhood Education Center. Abstract

One component of early childhood literacy language development is the ability to read the letters of the alphabet. It is very important for children to learn the letters of the alphabet as this serves as the foundation for reading and writing skills, which have a major impact on overall language development. This research began when initial observation research at Ash-Shidiq Kindergarten showed that the condition of the children in group B had not yet reached the expected level of success. Conventional literacy learning methods and ineffective use of media are the causes. The aim of this research was to determine the ability of group B of Kindergarten Ash-Shidiq to recognize the letters of the alphabet before and after the action using tree branches as a medium. This research uses a type of classroom action research (PTK), and the research subjects were ten children from group B. The research was conducted in two cycles based on the STPPA indicator for language literacy skills in recognizing letters of the alphabet. The data collection technique used is interviews, documentation, and observations. The results of research using tree twig media as a whole in improving the ability to recognize alphabet letters in group B at Ash-Shidiq Kindergarten can increase children's abilities optimally. This is shown by the percentage of children's success in each cycle, namely 20% in the pre-cycle, 60% in cycle I, and 90% in cycle II. Keywords: Early Childhood, Alphabet Letters, Tree Twig Media

Abstract

The ability to classify colors is an important aspect in the cognitive development of early childhood that needs to be developed, because it influences the subsequent learning process. This research is motivated by the low ability to classify colors in children at Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal II Kindergarten (Aisyiyah BA II Kindergarten), which is caused by the lack of variety in learning methods and the limited learning media used. This study aims to determine the improvement in the ability to classify colors through the use of colored buttons in stringing activities, and to see the significance of the improvement. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis and Taggart model, using a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were 14 children aged 4–5 years, 7 boys and 7 girls. Data collection techniques were through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed a significant increase in the ability to classify colors. In the pre-action, only 14% of children showed the ability to develop as expected. After the action was carried out in cycle I, it increased to 43%, and in cycle II it reached 100%, which is included in the category of "Developing Very Well". Thus, the colored button media in stringing activities has been proven effective in improving the ability to classify colors in early childhood and can be used as an alternative educational learning media in PAUD institutions, especially in Aisyiyah Kindergarten. Keywords: Classifying Colors, Early Childhood, Color Button Media BA II.

Abstract

Children's ability to be independent is one of the basic skills that children really need in socializing with friends, both in the family, school and surrounding environment. This development of independence will make children more confident in expressing their thoughts, participating in class activities, and building their social and cognitive abilities. This research began when initial observation research in Kober Darussalam showed that the condition of the children in group A had not yet reached the expected level of success. Learning media is still conventional, especially in the introduction of traditional games. The aim of this research was to determine the ability of group A Kober Darussalam to develop children's independence before and after the action using shell stilts. This research used a type of classroom action research (PTK), and the research subjects were thirteen children from group A. The research was conducted in two cycles based on the STPPA indicator for independence abilities. The data collection techniques used were interviews, documentation and observation. The results of research using shell stilts as a whole in developing children's independent abilities in group A Kober Darussalam can develop children's abilities optimally. This is shown by the percentage of children's success in each cycle, namely 23% in the pre-cycle, 31% in cycle I, and 100% in cycle II. Keywords: Early Childhood, Independence, Egrang Batok Game

Abstract

Intrapersonal intelligence is an important intelligence to develop because individuals who have high intrapersonal intelligence are more able to achieve success in their lives. The development of intrapersonal intelligence in children aged 5-6 years at RA Ash-Shidiq develops children's self-awareness, increases children's independence, and increases children's self-confidence in learning in the Raudhatul Athfal environment. So learning activities are needed that can develop intrapersonal intelligence in children from an early age. This research aims to describe the application of themed drawing activities and their influence in improving children's intrapersonal intelligence. The method used is classroom action research (PTK) with the Kemmis MC and Taggart models. The research was carried out in two cycles and each cycle consisted of two meetings, which consisted of planning, action, observation and reflection procedures. Data collection techniques in this research are through observation, interviews and documentation. The research results show that the increase in children's intrapersonal intelligence increases with each cycle. This was marked by an increase in the percentage of children's success, which was initially 22%, increased in cycle I to 59.3%, and in cycle II increased to 85.2%. So it can be concluded that the application of themed drawing activities can develop early childhood intrapersonal intelligence in children aged 5-6 years at RA Ash-Shidiq Garut. Abstract

This study is motivated by field findings showing that in several PAUD/RA institutions in Cipicung Village there are educators who do not hold formal degrees in early childhood education or the arts. Based on initial observations and interviews, this condition has led to limited teacher understanding in carrying out art appreciation activities according to proper stages. As a result, teachers tend to focus only on art-making activities without including appreciation. The purpose of this study is to identify the extent of educators’ understanding of the concept of art appreciation and the obstacles to its implementation. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Interviews revealed three non-degree early childhood teachers at RA Suandika, TK Al-Ajra, and PAUD Al-Ajra. The observations indicated that art appreciation practices were not optimal. TK Al-Azra practiced appreciation by giving verbal praise but did not display children’s works. RA Suandika displayed children’s works but did not provide verbal praise. Meanwhile, PAUD Al-Azra had not implemented appreciation at all. Factors contributing to the lack of optimal implementation include limited facilities, time, and teacher understanding. To improve these practices, teachers are encouraged to provide simple forms of appreciation, manage time specifically for appreciation, and participate in training to enhance their understanding of art appreciation. Such activities are crucial for fostering children’s self-confidence.Keywords: Art Appreciation, Non-Degree Teachers, PAUD

Abstract

Law Number 20 of 2003 concerning the National Education System, Article 1 paragraph 14 states that Early Childhood Education (PAUD) is "an effort to foster children from birth to the age of six years which is carried out through the provision of educational stimulation to help physical and spiritual growth and development so that children are ready to enter further education. Early childhood education is carried out through formal, non-formal and informal channels. In the independent curriculum there are 2 learning processes. There are two assessment categories: Formative Assessment and Summative Assessment. Formative assessment is designed to provide feedback and information to educators and students, which facilitates improvements in the learning process. The purpose of this study is to describe the Implementation of Process Assessment and the obstacles and challenges in the implementation of process assessment at PAUD Al-Islam Riyadhul Irfan, Kadungora District. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. Based on the results of research related to the Implementation of process assessment at PAUD Al Islam Riyadhul Irfan, Kadungora District, it focuses on the assessment of child development carried out when the learning process is taking place, not just on the final results. Implementation of process assessment at PAUD Al Islam Riyadhul Irfan includes 7 steps of activities, including: formulating/determining activities, preparing assessment tools, determining assessment criteria, collecting data, determining values, reporting assessment results and following up on assessment results.   Keywords: Early Childhood, Formative Assessment, Process Assessment

Abstract

This research is motivated by the minimal involvement of fathers in school activities. In many instances, father participation is rarely seen, such as during child drop-off, art performances, report card distribution, or farewell events. In addition to work-related factors, this situation is also exacerbated by the lack of school programs that specifically engage fathers in activities with their children. This study aims to describe the involvement of fathers in the development of self-identity in early childhood. The research employs a quantitative approach with a correlational method, with a sample consisting of 45 parents of students aged 2-6 years. Data collection techniques use questionnaires, and the data is analyzed with the help of IBM SPSS Statistics version 26. The analysis results obtained a t value of 2.354 with a significance level of 0.05 and a t table of 2.015. The results of the calculation show t calculated > t table (2.354 > 2.015), thus concluding that there is a significant effect of father involvement on the development of self-identity in early childhood. The coefficient of determination (R-Square) value of 0.114 indicates that father involvement contributes 11.4% to the development of children's self-identity, while 88.6% is influenced by other variables outside of this study.  Keywords: Father Involvement, Self-Identity, Early Childhood.
