Abstract

The use of digital media is currently a necessity in various aspects of life, including the educational aspect, where teachers are required to have an understanding and ability to utilize digital media in the learning process. This research aims to find out the extent of PAUD digital literacy teachers' understanding in schools that are not part of the driving school program. Digital skills and understanding of digital literacy for PAUD teachers have now become one of the competencies that teachers must master. The approach in this research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, where the results of this research are a real picture of the digital literacy understanding of PAUD teachers who are not part of the driving school program. The data collection process is through observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique uses Grounded Theory. The research subjects were teachers who taught at Kindergarten Plus An-Naafi Garut. The digital literacy competence of PAUD teachers needs to be improved so that they can utilize digital media as open materials well and optimally. The research results in this study regarding PAUD teachers' understanding of digital literacy are indicated to be good. This can be seen from the teacher being able to access information, select information, understand information, and disseminate information.  Keyword : Teachers, Digital Literacy, Early Childhood Education

Abstract

This research was motivated by observational data which showed the low level of achievement in recognizing hijaiyah letters for early childhood at the Hikmatul Huda IT Kindergarten with the discovery of several problems including; the ability to recognize hijaiyah letters in group A is still lacking, children recognize hijaiyah letters through the medium of iqro books, but the ability to recognize letters through their letter shapes is still lacking, children are not yet able to name and differentiate hijaiyah letters randomly, children cannot pronounce the letters hijaiyah beginning to end both in singing or memorizing and how to pronounce the letters correctly. thus making children's recognition of hijaiyah letters less stimulating. The aim of this research is to describe the use of the YouTube application to recognize hijaiyah letters in children aged 4-5 years at the IT Hikmatul Huda Kindergarten. The subjects in this study were 17 respondents with 8 male subjects and 9 female subjects. The type of research used in this research is qualitative research with a classroom action research or PTK design. The results of this research show that the use of the YouTube application to recognize hijaiyah letters in children aged 4-5 years at the IT Hikmatul Huda Kindergarten shows a significant increase, this can be seen from the percentage of success, from the results of initial observations there are 0% of children developing very well , 18% of children are developing according to expectations, 29% of children are starting to develop and 53% of children are not yet developing. After implementing the use of the YouTube application to improve the ability to recognize hijaiyah letters in children aged 4-5 years, the final results of cycle I reached a 53% increase in the ability to recognize hijaiyah letters in children aged 4-5 years, and the final results of cycle II reached 100% .  Keywords: Early Childhood; YouTube App; Hijaiyah letters

Abstract

From the Miftahul Ulum study group, it was found that four teachers had not yet achieved the pedagogical competence that meets the standards. According to the head of the Miftahul Ulum study group, the early childhood educators in the group tend to have shortcomings in conducting teaching and learning activities, particularly in utilizing and developing teaching media. The teachers in the Miftahul Ulum study group appear to focus more on two-way learning activities such as reading, writing, and singing, without involving teaching media. This research aims to describe the ability to develop teachers' pedagogical competence in utilizing learning media before and after participating in the in house training program in the Miftahul Ulum study group, as well as providing an in-depth understanding of how in house training can improve teachers' pedagogical competence in the design and use of learning media. The method used in this research is the case study method. The case study method was chosen as a method to achieve the objectives of this research, because teachers can learn directly and practically in their own work environment. The location of this research was carried out in the Miftahul Ulum study group on Tuesday 9 July 2024. The subjects of this research were teachers in the Miftahul Ulum study group consisting of 4 female teachers. The object of this research is the ability to develop teachers' pedagogical competence in designing learning media, both before and after participating in the in house training program in the Miftahul Ulum study group. The results of this research show that in the initial data the percentage obtained was 58%, which is less. After carrying out in house training "Developing PAUD Teachers' Pedagogical Competency in Utilizing Learning Media: Making Number Trees", teacher competency increased to 66%, which is sufficient. Based on the data analysis carried out in this research, in house training can improve teachers' pedagogical competence in designing learning media. Designing learning media through in house training is one strategic approach to increasing teacher competence, especially in utilizing learning media effectively  Keywords: Pedagogical Competence, In-House Training, Learning Media.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the situation of students at Al-Ikhlas Garut Kindergarten who still have not reached the expected level of success, this is due to several factors, including the drill learning method that is carried out not in accordance with the characteristics of early childhood as well as the needs of children who have not been fully facilitated. In this case, the researcher aims to develop early literacy language skills in Al-Ikhlas Kindergarten through multisensory media. Therefore, the question of this study is whether multisensory media can improve the language skills of early literacy of children aged 5-6 years at Al-Ikhlas Garut Kindergarten. This study uses a Classroom Action Research (PTK) design with 13 students aged 5-6 years. The research was carried out in 2 cycles, guided by the STPPA indicator of literacy language ability of children aged 5-6 years. Based on the results of the research through the application of multisensory media as a whole, it has been proven to be effective in improving and developing early literacy language skills of children aged 5-6 years. Judging from the percentage results, namely, cycle I BB (15.4%), MB (46.1%), BSH (38.5%), BSB (0%). Meanwhile, the second cycle is, BB (0%), MB (7.7%), BSH (61.5%), BSB (30.8%).  Keywords: Early Childhood; Early literacy language skills; Multisensory Media

Abstract

This research is motivated by the understanding of digital literacy of teachers at RA At-Taqwa Tarogong Kidul-Garut for the 2023-2024 academic year which is still relatively low at a percentage of 33.3%. Aims to improve the digital literacy skills of preschool teachers in distributing information through In House Training (IHT) model training at RA At-Taqwa Tarogong-Garut. The research method used in this research is collaborative action research using the Kemmis and Mc.Taggart model. The subjects of this research were six teachers at RA At-Taqwa Tarogong Kidul-Garut. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation. The research was carried out in three cycles and each cycle consisted of two meetings with planning, action, observation and reflection procedures. Data collection techniques in this research are through observation, interviews and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique in this research uses data triangulation techniques. The research results show that teachers' literacy understanding increases in each cycle. So it can be concluded that In House Training (IHT) model training can improve the digital literacy skills of teachers at RA At-Taqwa Tarogong-Garut. This was marked by an increase in the percentage of teacher success, which initially was 33.3% in cycle 1, increased to 50% in cycle 2, and 83.3% in cycle 3. Abstract

This research is based on observational data showing that the character of environmental awareness in early childhood at SPS Sirojul Muttaqin has not yet developed optimally. Several issues were identified, including a lack of environmental awareness among children and the limited variety of media used by teachers, which resulted in insufficient stimulation of children's love for the environment. The purpose of this study is to describe how to instill environmental awareness in early childhood using ecobrick bottle media at SPS Sirojul Muttaqin. Additionally, the researcher aims to determine the effectiveness of this media in fostering children's environmental character. The study involved 25 respondents, consisting of 14 boys and 11 girls. This research employs a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental design, specifically the one-group pretest-posttest design. The results indicate a significant increase in children's environmental awareness after the implementation of ecobrick bottle media. This is supported by data analysis using the SPSS program, which showed a significance value of 0.000—less than 0.005—indicating that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Abstract

English is a foreign language in Indonesia, but it is very important to be taught to children from an early age, perhaps because English is an international language that is used all over the world, it can make it easier to communicate when outside Indonesia as the main communication. A poster is basically an image that has a message or meaning that can clarify an intention or purpose to be used as an intermediary so that it can be well received. At RA Maftahul Huda, several problems were found including children not being able to mention English vocabulary with the theme of animals, then children could not interpret or understand English vocabulary and children still could not guess the English vocabulary mentioned by the teacher with the theme of animals. In this study, Classroom Action Research (PTK) is used with the object of the research being Visual Media Poster pictures. The subjects of this study are RA Maftahul Huda Class B as many as 14 people, 8 males, 6 females.  Keywords: Visual Media, English, Picture Posters, Early Childhood

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low development of mathematical abilities of children aged 5-6 years in Group B of Imanul Ulya Kindergarten, Cisero Village, Cisurupan District according to cognitive development indicators, especially symbolic thinking in STPPA, which is not optimal. Therefore, the question of this research is whether hand puppet media can improve the mathematical abilities of children aged 5-6 years in Group B of Imanul Ulya Kindergarten, Cisero Village, Cisurupan District. The purpose of this study was to determine how hand puppet media is used in Imanul Ulya Kindergarten, Cisero Village, Cisurupan District and how the mathematical abilities of children aged 5-6 years are developed through this media. The type of research used is classroom action research with the Kemmis-Taggart model. This study involved a total of 10 children and was carried out in two cycles with each cycle consisting of three meetings. Data collection techniques include observation and documentation with qualitative data analysis. Based on the research results, in the last cycle the average score of the development of mathematical abilities of children aged 5-6 years at Imanul Ulya Kindergarten was 34.38 with a completion percentage of 20% (2 children). In cycle I, the average value increased to 53.75 with a completion percentage of 60% (6 children). In cycle II, the average value reached 80.63 with a completion percentage of 90% (9 children). Abstract

Along with advances in technology, there is a phenomenon of using gadgets among children which is attracting quite a lot of attention. This is because the exixtence of sophisticated technology has brought changes to children’s daily lives, we can see that children spend more time playing on cellphones. So too much dependence on technology can also have negative impact. These include making children tend to spend time in front of electronic device screens, which results in the child’s gross motor skills not being properly stimulated because the child’s physical activity desreases. This research was conducted at Kindergarten Plus An Naafi using a qualitative approach with the case study method. The data collection process is through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this research are the implementation of gross motor activities for early childhood at Plus An Naafi Kindergarten which has a significant positive impact on children’s physical and motor development. Through outdoor activities children can improve muscle coordination and balance skills. Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of implementing ethnoguidance in an effort to develop the social and emotional aspects of early childhood at RA Baitul Ijjah Garut. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data collection techniques are using observation, interview and documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques are organizing data, creating categories, determining themes and patterns, finding alternative data explanations, and writing reports. The subjects of this study were 2 educators and 22 students consisting of 12 boys and 10 girls. The results of the study showed development in aspects of children's social and emotional development. Such as the ability to empathize and appreciate differences. In addition, ethnoguidance also contributes to the formation of positive children's characters and is rooted in local cultural values. This study provides empirical evidence regarding the effectiveness of ethnoguidance in supporting children's social and emotional development.
