Abstract

Since the beginning of 2020, Indonesia has been hit by a deadly virus outbreak known as Corona Virus Disease or Covid-19. Covid-19, which is claimed to be a pandemic, has changed the foundations of all sectors of life, including the legal and criminal system in Indonesia. Various gaps have been created between das sein and das sollen related to the regulations issued by the government to reduce the number of Covid-19 cases. On the one hand, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in its mandate has established a policy of releasing prisoners through the assimilation and integration rights program as one of the steps to suppress the spread of Covid-19. Contrary to this, on the other hand, a regulation has emerged that threatens the public for those who violate the rules regarding the prevention of this epidemic, especially for violators of Law Number 6 of 2018 concerning Quarantine. These two law enforcement policies will certainly be a punishment paradox where if prisoners are given assimilation, it will have the potential to cause a Covid-19 cluster from prisons to the general public and also has the potential to cause other problems such as committing crimes again. Likewise, if a prokes violator is put in prison, it is possible that he will contract Covid-19 and spread it to prisoners in prison, so this will become very vulnerable considering that the number of prisoners in prison is very large and even over capacity.

Abstract

In rural East Java, Indonesia, this study examines the effects of climate change and sustainable farming practices on food security and agricultural output. A structural equation modeling approach was used to analyze the data from a survey of 250 farmers. The latent constructs' validity and reliability were validated by the measurement model evaluation, and each construct's uniqueness was guaranteed by discriminant validity analysis. Significant correlations were found by using the structural model: production was unexpectedly positively influenced by climate change, while food security was severely affected. Sustainable farming methods have a high positive correlation with production and food security. Demographic analysis shed light on the traits of the farmers in the sample. The evaluation of the model fit revealed that the relationships in the suggested model were satisfactorily represented. By providing useful insights for practitioners and policymakers pursuing sustainable agricultural development, this study advances knowledge of the complex dynamics of East Javan agriculture.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship education at the higher education level plays an increasingly crucial role in shaping graduates who are not only ready to enter the workforce but also capable of becoming independent entrepreneurs. While many university graduates aspire to pursue careers in office jobs or work for other institutions, it is important to realize that entrepreneurial skills have a positive impact not only on individuals but also on the economy and society as a whole. In this context, entrepreneurship education in higher education becomes key to shifting the paradigm of graduates towards being more proactive and independent in creating job opportunities. Currently, many countries face challenges in creating new job opportunities and reducing unemployment rates. Therefore, introducing the concept of entrepreneurship into the higher education curriculum can be a strategic step to address these issues. Graduates with a strong understanding of entrepreneurship will not only be job seekers but also job creators. They have the potential to establish their own businesses, create new products or services, and make a positive contribution to the local and national economic development. Through entrepreneurship education, students can be equipped with practical skills, business knowledge, and a proactive attitude needed to become leaders in the business world. Moreover, it is essential to address any stigma attached to the development of entrepreneurship in higher education, where many students may be more inclined to choose conventional career paths. By recognizing the importance of entrepreneurship in creating new opportunities and enhancing competitiveness in the job market, universities can play a key role in inspiring and guiding students to explore their entrepreneurial potential. Thus, entrepreneurship education at the higher education level is not just about creating entrepreneurs; it is also about shaping individuals who have a proactive outlook on their lives and careers and the ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic work environment. Entrepreneurship education in higher education has a significant long-term impact on shaping a more competitive and innovative future.

Abstract

This research investigates the intricate relationships between healthy lifestyle practices, the accessibility of health facilities, and their impact on the quality of life and life expectancy in Jakarta. Employing a quantitative approach with a sample of 300 participants, the study employs Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to analyze the data. The measurement model confirms the reliability and validity of latent constructs, while the structural model reveals significant positive associations. Improved accessibility of health facilities is strongly linked to higher life expectancy and better quality of life. Additionally, healthier lifestyle practices positively influence both life expectancy and quality of life. The statistical tests further support these relationships, emphasizing the critical role of healthcare infrastructure and individual choices in shaping public health outcomes. The findings provide actionable insights for public health interventions and policy development to enhance the overall well-being of Jakarta's residents.
