Jurnal Pengabdian dan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat merupakan jurnal pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang menjadi wadah ilmiah untuk pengabdian, dengan nomor terdaftar E-ISSN. KOMUNITA adalah jurnal multidisiplin ilmiah yang diterbitkan oleh PELITA NUSA TENGGARA. Penerbitan jurnal ini akan dilakukan dalam satu tahun, mulai tahun 2022 terbit sebanyak dua kali terbit yaitu pada bulan Februari dan Agustus. KOMUNITA: Jurnal Pengabdian dan Pemberdayaan kepada Masyarakat memfokuskan pada masalah umum atau masalah yang terkait dengan layanan masyarakat. Tujuan dari publikasi jurnal ini adalah untuk menyebarluaskan pemikiran konseptual atau ide dan hasil penelitian yang telah dicapai di bidang pengabdian masyarakat. KOMUNITA: Jurnal Pengabdian dan Pemberdayaan kepada Masyarakat, berisi berbagai kegiatan dalam menangani dan mengelola berbagai potensi, hambatan, tantangan, dan masalah yang ada di masyarakat. Implementasi kegiatan layanan juga melibatkan partisipasi masyarakat dan mitra. Kegiatan pelayanan diorganisasikan menjadi kegiatan yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat.

Abstract

Workshop on Designing the Future: Creating a Life Calendar for Students of SMAS Pulau Barranglompo aims to increase students' awareness and ability to plan for the future in facing life's challenges and determining their life goals from an early age. The scope of this community service activity includes strengthening self-planning literacy, time management, and the development of students' personal vision and mission. The methods used include interactive material delivery, group discussions, and hands-on practice in compiling life calendars based on self-reflection and short-term and long-term goals. The results of the activity show that students demonstrate an increased understanding of the importance of life planning and are able to compile life calendars that reflect their potential, interests, and future hopes. New facts identified were the lack of personal planning habits among coastal students and their high enthusiasm for visual and narrative approaches in developing life plans. The main conclusion of this activity was that empowerment through a life planning approach was able to foster students' motivation, direction, and personal responsibility in undergoing the education process and living a more focused life. This activity makes a real contribution to building the capacity of students as the next generation with a long-term vision for life.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) focusing on altar server (misdinar) formation at the Holy Spirit Misir Parish was carried out to respond to the need for improving the readiness of altar service in liturgical celebrations. This topic was chosen because altar servers have an important role in supporting the smooth implementation of the Eucharist, which requires understanding of liturgical order, disciplined behavior, and technical skills. The method used included field observation, coordination with liturgical officers, preparation of training modules, and implementation of training sessions consisting of theoretical explanations, task demonstrations, and direct altar practice. Periodic evaluations and participant feedback were also conducted to assess the effectiveness of the training materials. From the results, it was observed that there was an increase in the altar servers’ understanding about liturgical rubrics, accuracy of movements, readiness of liturgical items, and teamwork abilities. In this case, participants showed more positive attitudes, stronger discipline, and increased confidence when serving. Moreover, structured training helped establish a more or ganized workflow, contributing to smoother and more orderly liturgical celebrations. These findings show that targeted and continuous formation can very much improve the quality of altar service. Thus, this KKN program provides meaningful contributions to strengthen the competence of misdinar and can be made into a model for similar training programs in other parishes that want to improve the quality of liturgical service.

Abstract

Public service delivery at the village level requires effective organizational communication to ensure consistent internal coordination and transparent dissemination of service information to citizens. In Kramatwatu Village, Serang Regency, key challenges include unstructured internal communication among village officials, suboptimal external communication with the community, limited use of information media, and the absence of standardized communication flows that support service accountability. This community service program aimed to strengthen village officials’ internal and external communication as a prerequisite for more transparent public services and improved public trust. The program employed a participatory socialization approach through structured presentations, interactive discussions, case studies, role-play simulations of service communication, and guided reflection to formulate follow-up actions. The results indicate improved participants’ understanding of organizational communication, heightened awareness of service-information transparency, and emerging commitments to enhance communication channels (information boards, village social media, and deliberative forums) as well as initial steps toward developing a communication flow/SOP. These findings are significant as they highlight organizational communication strengthening as a practical foundation for sustaining improvements in village public service quality.

Abstract

Village-Owned Enterprises are strategic instruments in promoting inclusive and sustainable rural economic development, in line with the achievement of the Village Sustainable Development Goals (Village SDGs), particularly the goals of no poverty, decent work and economic growth, and partnerships for development. However, BUMDes Kompak S in Sungai Pinang Nibung Village, Sungai Pinang Sub-district, Ogan Ilir Regency faces several challenges, particularly in terms of institutional governance, business innovation, and product marketing. This community service activity aims to strengthen institutional capacity and enhance business innovation through student-based Community Service Program assistance as an implementation of the Higher Education Key Performance Indicators (IKU), especially off-campus learning and tangible contributions to society. The activity employed a participatory and collaborative approach, including situational analysis, program planning, management and business innovation assistance, strengthening digital marketing, and activity evaluation. The results indicate improvements in BUMDes governance, the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs), increased product innovation based on local potential, and expanded marketing reach through digital platforms. These outcomes contribute to strengthening the rural economy, enhancing community self-reliance, and supporting the national development agenda (Asta Cita) through the reinforcement of people-centered economic development and villages as centers of growth. Overall, this program effectively addressed partner challenges and supported sustainable village development.

Abstract

Abstract is Community Service (PKM) activities were carried out at the Santu Lodovikus Waiklibang Parish, specifically at the Good Shepherd Waiklibang Station. The main target was the SEKAMI children at the Station. The purpose of this activity was to foster faith, foster a missionary spirit and foster the faith of children, so that they could develop as individuals of faith, character and could have a missionary spirit in their daily lives. This was done because nowadays children are trapped in behavior that deviates from Catholic teachings such as using bad words, disrespecting adults, and not being involved in spiritual activities. This activity aims to be able to weave children's faith in SEKAMI activities and can foster a missionary spirit in loving service in their daily lives. The method used in this service activity was Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR) which this method builds collaboration to weave faith and foster a missionary spirit in children, which was carried out during August-October 2025 at the Good Shepherd Waiklibang Station. The result of this activity is that SEKAMI children in the Parish of St. Lodovikus Waiklibang, especially at the Good Shepherd Station Waiklibang, are increasingly aware of their faith and their faith will continue to increase with every SEKAMI activity carried out in accordance with the program planned by the children's animators. They will be encouraged to increasingly live out their faith in every SEKAMI activity meeting, and the children are more aware of the importance of sharing love with others. Thus, this PKM activity can provide a real contribution in knitting faith and missionary spirit within SEKAMI children and is able to shape their character into superior individuals in the future for the Church, family, and society.

Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan minat baca dan kemampuan literasi siswa melalui pojok baca dengan penerapan metode Reciprocal Teaching dan bimbingan belajar. Sasaran program ini adalah siswa kelas 3 sampai kelas 5, adapun bimbingan secara khusus dilakukan untuk siswa kelas 3 yang belum lancar dalam membaca serta menulis. Kegiatan ini terdiri dari beberapa tahapan, yaitu perizinan, sosialisasi, observasi, pembuatan pojok baca, kegiatan membaca bersama dengan penerapan metode Reciprocal Teaching, serta evaluasi. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan membandingkan hasil pre-test dan post-test yang diberikan kepada 20 siswa. Hasilnya anlisis menggunakan metode uji Wilcoxon mendapatkan nilai singnifikan yaitu (p-value = 0,001) < α = 0,05, yang berarti terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara nilai pre-test dan post-test siswa. Sebanyak 20 siswa mengalami peningkatan nilai post-test dengan rata-rata kenaikan 10,50 poin. Dengan demikian, program pojok baca dengan penerapan metode Reciprocal Teaching dan bimbingan belajar terbukti memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan literasi siswa kelas 3 sampai kelas 5 di Utama Muhammadiyah 5 Kota Parepare.

Abstract

This Community Service program aims to improve the digital literacy and computational thinking skills of elementary school teachers through game-based programming algorithm training using the Scratch platform. The problems faced by partners are teachers' limited understanding of programming algorithm concepts and the minimal use of interactive technology-based learning media in the learning process. The This Community Service program activity was carried out at Muhammadiyah Jasem Ngoro Elementary School in Mojokerto using a participatory and hands-on training method, which included needs analysis, module development, training implementation, and program evaluation. To measure the effectiveness of the activity, pre-test and post-test instruments were used that examined aspects of digital literacy, computational thinking, understanding of basic algorithms, and mastery of Scratch. The evaluation results showed significant improvements in all aspects measured, where teachers not only understood algorithm concepts conceptually but were also able to develop simple educational games relevant to elementary school learning. This program had a positive impact on improving teacher competence, confidence, and readiness in integrating technology-based learning. Thus, the Scratch-based programming algorithm training is effective as an effort to strengthen the digital literacy and computational thinking of elementary school teachers.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to introduce the meanings of movements and philosophical values of the Tanggai Dance to students of SMK Manggala Palembang as an effort to preserve the local culture of South Sumatra. Tanggai Dance is one of the traditional dances that contains aesthetic, ethical, and symbolic values representing respect and hospitality of the Palembang community. The implementation methods included counseling sessions, dance movement demonstrations, interactive discussions, and direct practice. The participants consisted of 30 students who actively attended all activity sessions. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires distributed before and after the activity. The results showed an increase in students’ understanding of the meanings of movements and philosophical values of the Tanggai Dance. Before the activity, the students’ level of understanding was categorized as low with an average percentage of 45%, while after the activity it increased to 85% in the good category. In addition, students demonstrated high enthusiasm and interest in preserving local culture. This activity had a positive impact in fostering the younger generation’s appreciation of local cultural arts and strengthening regional cultural identity within the school environment.

Abstract

Desa Wisata Konservasi Sei Sembilang merupakan kawasan yang memiliki potensi besar dalam pengembangan wisata berbasis konservasi. Kekayaan ekosistem yang dimiliki mencakup hutan bakau (mangrove), kawasan konservasi satwa, dan keindahan alam pesisir yang masih alami. Hutan mangrove sendiri memiliki fungsi ekologis yang sangat penting, antara lain sebagai penahan abrasi, penyaring alami air laut, habitat satwa pesisir, dan penyimpan karbon biru. Selain fungsi ekologisnya, mangrove juga memiliki nilai sosial dan edukatif yang tinggi jika dimanfaatkan secara berkelanjutan. Potensi ini menjadikan hutan mangrove sangat relevan untuk dikembangkan sebagai destinasi wisata edukatif yang berbasis konservasi.Agar potensi besar kawasan ini tersampaikan secara optimal kepada wisatawan, diperlukan pendamping wisata yang memiliki kemampuan komunikasi yang baik, percaya diri, serta mampu menyampaikan informasi secara menarik dan persuasif. Oleh karena itu, salah satu solusi yang ditawarkan adalah melalui penyelenggaraan pelatihan atau workshop public speaking bagi para pendamping wisata. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas komunikasi, memperkuat citra kawasan sebagai destinasi konservasi yang informatif, serta memastikan bahwa pesan-pesan pelestarian lingkungan dapat disampaikan secara tepat dan berdampak kepada setiap pengunjung. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini melibatkan beberapa langkah yaitu studi lapangan, telaah pustaka, perencanaan program, pembuatan materi, menentukan narasumber, pendampingan, dan penyebarluasan hasil. Khalayak sasaran terdiri dari masyarakat Sei Sembilang dan kelompok sadar wisata (Pokdarwis) yang dimiliki oleh masyarakat Sei Sembilang. Hasil dari pengabdian ini adalah masyarakat Sei Sembilang memiliki kelompok wisata yang dipilih melalui pemilihan Bujang Gadis Sei Sembilang.kompetensi yang telah dimiliki oleh Pokdarwis diperoleh melalui ajang pemilihan Bujang dan Gadis Sei Sembilang. Pada masyarakatnya, pemahaman terkait public speaking belum secara baik hal ini dipengaruhi pada latar belakang pendidikan, penggunaan bahasa lokal yang dipakai dalam keseharian yang membuat adanya kesulitan dalam penggunaan bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa pemandu wisata.

Abstract

This community service activity was conducted at SMAK Maryo Nekmese Hoineno, South Central Timor Regency, in response to students’ low awareness in using social media wisely and responsibly, particularly in filtering information, maintaining digital communication ethics, and utilizing social media for educational purposes. This activity aimed to equip students with digital literacy skills grounded in Christian values. The methods used were lectures and discussions. The lecture method was applied to deliver key principles of responsible social media use through Christian Religious Education, while the discussion method facilitated experience sharing, deeper understanding, and critical reflection among students. The activity involved 54 students, 8 teachers, and parent representatives. The results indicate an improvement in students’ understanding and awareness of responsible social media use. Students demonstrated better ability to verify information before sharing, maintain ethical communication, and utilize social media as a tool for learning and self-development. Additionally, the activity encouraged students to become more critical, selective, and responsible in their digital behavior. This activity highlights that integrating digital literacy with Christian Religious Education is effective in fostering students’ digital character in alignment with Christian values.
