Abstract

Researchers observed that mothers have a large role and responsibility, and single mothers need to be taken seriously in various ways. Therefore, this research aims to answer how child care should be carried out by a single parent, in this case, the mother, considering that a mother's role is very important in educating children. The research method used is qualitative research which produces descriptive data, namely by using a review of documents (books, journals, research results) that are relevant to the research. Following the data obtained and also based on the nature of this research, namely descriptive, the author uses qualitative methods, namely non-statistical. Data analysis is carried out in the following steps: data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions or verification. The research results state that the concept of a single parent refers to an individual who carries out the role of caring for children in a family structure without the involvement of a husband or life partner. Mothers as single parents can instill three forms of basic education in their children, namely physical, intellectual and spiritual education. The role of single parents as those responsible for children's education today can introduce the importance of maintaining health (physical), directing children on the right path to achieving success in life (intellectual), and educating and understanding children about religion and beliefs (spiritual).

Abstract

Integrating ethical principles into curricula is crucial for nurturing moral development among students. This study explores the foundational role of Islamic epistemology in shaping knowledge acquisition and ethical conduct. The study investigates ethical curriculum practices in Islamic education through a qualitative research approach combining literature review and content analysis. Islamic epistemology, rooted in Quranic revelations, Prophetic traditions, and scholarly interpretations, delineates knowledge's sources and ethical dimensions. Islamic scholars distinguish between revealed and acquired knowledge, with revelation serving as the cornerstone. The Quran and Hadith provide guidance on faith, morality, and conduct, complemented by reason ('aql/عقل) for critical inquiry and ethical discernment. Drawing from the synthesis of revelation and reason, Islamic ethics guides individual conduct, social interactions, and environmental stewardship. Ethical curriculum development entails integrating Islamic values across academic disciplines, facilitated by pedagogical approaches such as experiential learning, cooperative inquiry, and Socratic dialogue. Challenges including curricular alignment, teacher training, and cultural sensitivity exist, yet ethical curriculum development rooted in Islamic epistemology offers opportunities to cultivate ethical consciousness and foster global citizenship. Upholding methodological rigor and ethical considerations ensures validity and reliability, respecting diverse cultural and religious perspectives. This study underscores the need for further research and collaboration to advance ethical education practices grounded in Islamic principles, responsive to evolving learner needs and fostering ethical leadership in an interconnected world.

Abstract

In a culturally and religiously diverse society like Indonesia, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) must promote values of inclusivity, tolerance, and respect. This study aims to develop a conceptual model that integrates pluralist and multicultural approaches into PAI learning to enhance students’ inclusivity competencies. Using a qualitative methodology, the research adopts a systematic literature review analyzing primary and secondary sources, including academic books, journal articles, and policy documents. Content analysis was employed to extract key themes related to the implementation of pluralism and multiculturalism in Islamic education. The findings indicate that an effective integration requires the alignment of curriculum design, teaching methods, teacher roles, learning materials, and evaluation systems with inclusive values. It emphasizes that multicultural education focuses on cultural and ethnic diversity, while pluralist education addresses religious pluralism and interfaith understanding. Both approaches are complementary in creating an inclusive and peaceful educational environment. The study concludes that the conceptual model can serve as a foundation for reforming PAI by fostering tolerance, empathy, and cooperation among learners. It also suggests that further empirical research and implementation trials are needed to test the model in practice.
