The involvement of the global community in the success of education and learning that is student-friendly, environmentally friendly, and learning-friendly is needed. Therefore, inclusive education has undergone many changes and advances in the education system in Southeast Asia in particular and the world in general. Until now, inclusive education has grown and established itself in providing the widest possible opportunity and space for students with special needs to stand equal to other students so that they can become an active part of society and the country. However, it can’t be denied that the practice of special education still needs various improvements in various aspects. This condition is a challenge for Special Education to continue to develop and adapt to respond to challenges in the future. To answer these challenges requires research, publication, innovation, and creativity as well as an accommodation based on the needs of the community, educators, educational staff, and students. The International Conference on Special Education in the Southeast Asian Region (ICSAR) is one of the answers to the requirements for the growth of special education in Southeast Asia. This conference will bring together academics and experts from around the world to collaborate to create a safe and comfortable environment for people with special needs in Southeast Asia.

Abstract

This research discusses the design of assistive technology, especially the Sensor Bike Program (Propesor) as an accommodative aid for children with hearing impairments, this tool is a follow-up to the child's inability to listen to sounds or sounds around him. This puts them in a dangerous situation when driving, therefore an innovative tool is needed that can help them to recognise sounds or sounds around them. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, assessments, and documentation studies to collect comprehensive data as a basis for developing tools that suit the needs of children. The result of this research is a hypothetical design of the Sensor Bike Program (Propesor) and is ready to be realised into a valid tool.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the use of interactive multimedia materials, Te-Ga, in teaching listening and speaking skills for students with special needs. Listening and speaking skills are essential language skills in the Malay language subject. The use of learning materials in the form of pictures and videos creates a static learning environment, causing students with special needs to not engage in teaching and learning sessions, resulting in low mastery levels in listening and speaking skills. Therefore, the use of interactive multimedia materials, Te-Ga, helps to increase the involvement of students with special needs in learning sessions. This study was conducted using a qualitative approach and adapted Kurt Lewin's action research model. The participants involved in the study were five Year 4 students from a Chinese National Type School in the Tamparuli district. The instruments used in the study were document analysis, observation, interviews, audio recordings, and checklists. The collected data were analyzed descriptively. The findings of the study indicate that the use of interactive multimedia materials, Te-Ga, can improve students' mastery levels in listening and speaking skills through their involvement in engaging learning sessions. Overall, this study can serve as a guide for Malay language teachers in creating effective learning environments through the use of interactive multimedia materials.

Abstract

This research aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the implementation of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) intervention in assisting parents in enhancing their trust and openness attitudes. The research methodology employed a qualitative approach with a case study method. The study focused on a single-family subject with a child on the autism spectrum. The CBT technique utilized was cognitive restructuring, comprising four steps: identifying the root problem, recognizing emerging feelings, managing erroneous or negative thought patterns, and forming new thought patterns. The treatment spanned four days, consisting of four sessions. The research findings indicate that through the application of CBT, parents experienced a shift in their attitudes towards understanding, awareness, and initiating interaction with their autistic child within the home environment in line with trust and openness towards their surroundings. However, parents have yet to consistently exhibit the trust they possess and still attempt interactions in environments of limited scope or low traffic, thus necessitating the need for parental trust management and consistency.

Abstract

Children's motor development is very important because children are confident in their environment, including when playing with their friends, children who grow and develop without motor skills will become inferior in carrying out tasks related to their skills. The aim of this research is to provide illustrated abilities in completing certain motor tasks, to provide the ability to be able to train children's body movements during motor development and to hone children's fine and gross motor skills. The method used by the author is a literature review analysis. In the process of motor perception, environmental stimuli that are relevant to movement are recognized, appropriate movement information is sent in the form of output to the muscles to produce various types of movement. Up to the fine and gross motoric stages, perceptual motor skills are also very important in improving children's motor skills and academic abilities.
