Abstract

Dalam beberapa dekade terakhir, pendidikan tinggi di Amerika Serikat telah mengalami pertumbuhan yang luar biasa, menghasilkan peningkatan jumlah lulusan yang signifikan. Namun, fenomena yang mengkhawatirkan telah muncul: jumlah lulusan yang melampaui ketersediaan lapangan kerja yang sesuai, yang dikenal sebagai "ketidakcocokan kualifikasi." Artikel ini mengkaji dampak negatif dari ketidakcocokan kualifikasi, seperti penurunan produktivitas, pemanfaatan sumber daya pendidikan yang tidak efisien, dan potensi penurunan upah serta kepuasan kerja. Kami mengidentifikasi kurangnya kolaborasi antara lembaga pendidikan dan pemberi kerja sebagai faktor utama penyebab masalah ini, ditambah dengan kecepatan kemajuan teknologi yang tidak sejalan dengan pembaruan kurikulum. Studi kasus internasional menunjukkan bahwa tantangan ini bersifat global, dan negara-negara yang berinvestasi dalam kurikulum yang selaras dengan industri lebih berhasil mempersiapkan lulusan. Data terkini tentang pasar kerja lulusan di AS mengungkapkan perbedaan tingkat pengangguran berdasarkan tingkat pendidikan dan gender, dengan lulusan perempuan menunjukkan hasil yang lebih baik dalam beberapa kategori. Proyeksi menunjukkan bahwa pekerjaan yang membutuhkan kualifikasi lebih tinggi akan terus meningkat, menggarisbawahi pentingnya pendidikan lanjutan. Selain itu, kami membahas bagaimana ketidakpastian ekonomi dan teknologi baru seperti kecerdasan buatan memperparah tantangan pekerjaan bagi lulusan baru, menekankan perlunya kolaborasi antara lembaga pendidikan, pemerintah, dan industri untuk memastikan lulusan memiliki keterampilan yang relevan dan dapat bertransisi dengan mulus ke dunia kerja.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out how the role of teacher certification in improving the ability of educators in Mas Yapib Tompobulu Jeneponto. Teacher certification becomes imperative for teachers to demonstrate professionalism as an educator or teaching personnel especially in Indonesia and this certification can promote teachers’ well-being. This type of research is qualitative research with field approach (Field Research) i.e. direct research to the location to obtain and collect data. The methodology in this study uses Data collection techniques are drawn from interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques using Data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that certification is used as a measure of a professional, kind, and competent teacher. Teachers who have done certification will strive to develop the skills they have. This teacher certification is crucially done to demonstrate teachers’ professionalism as teachers and educators. The implementation of the results of this study is to know the importance of dissemination of important related information as well as implementation of certification should be regularly done even to the corners of the area so that all teachers can receive information and follow certification to become professional and competent teachers

Abstract

This article discusses strategies to maintain the existence of local wisdom through Zapin dance in the era of globalization. As one of Indonesia’s cultural heritages, Zapin dance faces major challenges in maintaining its relevance and sustainability amidst the massive flow of globalization. This study uses literature studies to analyze various relevant sources, including scientific journals, books, and publications related to Zapin dance, local wisdom, and the impact of globalization on culture. The results of the study indicate that adaptive strategies are very important to maintain the local wisdom of Zapin Dance. This strategy includes an educational approach through school curriculum and dance studios, digitalization and online promotion through social media and digital platforms, cultural shortcut collaboration to introduce Zapin dance to a more satisfied audience, and choreographic innovation that still respects tradition without losing its original essence. In addition, strengthening the community of Zapin dancers and preservers is also crucial in creating an ecosystem that supports the sustainability of this dance. By implementing these strategies comprehensively, it is hoped that Zapin dance will not only survive but can also develop and continue to be a strong cultural identity amidst global dynamics.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of the minimum wage (UMK), Human Development Index (HDI), total population, and the number of poor people on the Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in West Java during the 2019–2023 period using panel data regression with the Random Effect Model. The results show that UMK and the number of poor people have a significant positive effect on TPT, while HDI and total population have a significant negative effect. The study recommends improving human development quality and managing minimum wages effectively to reduce the unemployment rate.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of social workers in restoring the social functioning of orphanage children at LKSA An-Nur. The stages of intervention carried out by social workers in restoring the client's social functioning consist of 6 stages, namely, Intake contract, Assessment, Planning, Intervention, Evaluation, Termination The results showed that the role of social workers in restoring children's functioning still experienced many obstacles, especially differences in perception between social workers and social institutions. This article provides important implications for social workers and social institutions to collaborate with each other in providing social services to clients and also provide varied interventions to clients.

Abstract

Speech delay is one of the common language development disorders occurring in early childhood and can impact a child’s communication, social, and emotional abilities. This study aims to describe the communication strategies applied by early childhood education (PAUD) teachers in assisting children with speech delay. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with two 6-year-old children showing symptoms of speech delay as subjects at a private kindergarten in Medan City. Data collection was conducted through direct observation of verbal and non-verbal interactions during the learning process. The results indicate that the characteristics of speech delay differ between the children; one child tends to be socially passive, while the other is active but has articulation difficulties. Teachers use various communication strategies, such as visual media, positive reinforcement, and individualized approaches to stimulate the children’s language abilities. The findings also emphasize the importance of collaboration between teachers and parents and early detection to ensure more effective and comprehensive intervention.

Abstract

In an information age characterized by rapid data growth, metadata management has become critical to ensure the accessibility, regularity, and efficient utilization of data. This article discusses the key challenges that organizations face in data management, including issues of integration, data quality, and information security. By establishing a comprehensive metadata management framework, organizations can address these challenges through standardization, organization, and storage of information. In addition, this study investigates the various tools and technologies that can be applied to improve metadata management, as well as their impact on decision-making and innovation. The findings of this study indicate that implementing good metadata management not only improves operational efficiency but also provides a competitive advantage in an increasingly digital marketplace.

Abstract

Adolescence is a transitional period marked by significant physical, emotional, and social changes that can impact the development of self-esteem. During this period, adolescents often face challenges in finding their identity, which can lead to psychological issues such as anxiety and feelings of inferiority. Low self-esteem can affect emotional well-being and social behavior. Therefore, it is crucial to find effective approaches to improve their self-esteem. Method: This study uses a simple literature review method, which involves reviewing various relevant literatures on group counseling and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). Discussion: Self-esteem is defined as an individual’s assessment of their value and abilities, which influences various aspects of life, including academic achievement and social relationships. Adolescents often experience low self-esteem due to social pressures, especially through social media platforms like TikTok, which exacerbate feelings of inferiority. REBT, developed by Albert Ellis, can address this issue by replacing irrational thoughts with rational ones, enhancing self-confidence, and reducing anxiety. Group counseling based on REBT can help adolescents improve their self-esteem, enhance social relationships, and develop constructive coping skills to face life’s challenges.

Abstract

Fundamentalism is an ideology that adheres firmly to the basic principles of a particular religion, ideology, or belief. In Islam, fundamentalism is often associated with a literal interpretation of the Qur’an and Hadith, which can have implications for the rejection of modernization and social development. This study discusses the concept of fundamentalism from a historical, theological, and social perspective, and relates it to the concept of ghuluw in the Qur’an mentioned in QS. An-Nisa: 171 and QS. Al-Ma’idah: 77. This study also describes how fundamentalism in Islam has developed since the early days of the Khulafaur Rasyidin to the contemporary era, including its influence on political and social dynamics. The opinions of scholars indicate that ghuluw can appear in two main forms: extreme in glorification and extreme in rejection of certain teachings. Islam itself emphasizes balance in religion and the importance of understanding teachings holistically and contextually. Thus, this study highlights the need for a more critical approach in understanding the phenomenon of fundamentalism, by considering historical, social, and theological aspects to gain a more comprehensive perspective in seeing its impact on the development of Muslim society
