Abstract

Early childhood education (ECE) plays a crucial role in supporting children's holistic development. To ensure the quality of learning, the government has established National Education Standards, including process standards that regulate learning implementation to be interactive, inspiring, and enjoyable (Ministry of Education and Culture, 2014). This study aims to analyze the implementation of learning process standards at TK Ekklesia Pangkalan Kerinci. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection techniques include observation and interviews with the school principal. The results show that learning has been systematically planned through semester programs and daily lesson plans and implemented using a play-based learning approach. The methods used are varied and child-centered. However, challenges arise from parental expectations regarding early literacy and numeracy skills. Overall, the implementation of process standards has been carried out quite well in accordance with early childhood learning principles.

Abstract

Development sociology is an activity undertaken by society to transform conditions from less developed to more developed. However, such development activities often do not meet expectations. The results of development often have negative and problematic impacts on other communities. While it is acknowledged that in some cases development does bring positive impacts as expected, many problems and issues also arise as a result of development. The normative concept of development is intended to transform people's lives from poor, less developed conditions to better, more developed, and more modern ones. As sociology first emerged, particularly in America, its orientation was also aimed at improving societies afflicted by severe social problems caused by the rise of industrialization and capitalism. Over its development, sociology has become more than just a normative goal; it has increasingly developed as a neutral, objective, and rational science, thus avoiding normative considerations. As a science, sociology is expected to be able to view and analyze social phenomena (including development phenomena) holistically, comprehensively, and objectively, so that its analysis is clear and unbiased. With such an understanding, the results of sociological analysis can provide significant input for social improvement.

Abstract

The digital technology revolution has driven a massive transformation in the financial system through the emergence of financial technology (fintech), one of which is the paylater service. Currently, the convenience of paylater actually impacts consumer behavior and sparks legal implications in Islamic economics. The purpose of this study is to analyze the views of university students in Bandung on the use of paylater based on Islamic law and fintech perspectives. The research method is descriptive quantitative, with a questionnaire spread to 53 university students in Bandung. The result indicates that students have a good understanding of the paylater mechanism, including its interest rates and late fees. However, from an Islamic law perspective, the majority of respondents consider that conventional paylater services potentially contain elements of usury (riba) and uncertainty (gharar), meaning they are not fully in accordance with sharia principles. There is a dilemma between adhering to sharia principles and the reality of urgent needs and digital lifestyles. Therefore, increasing sharia financial literacy is crucial so students can make wiser financial decisions in the digital era.

Abstract

Gender Mainstreaming (PUG) is a development strategy aimed at achieving gender equality and justice in various aspects of social life through the integration of gender perspectives into the planning, implementation, and evaluation of development programs. Surabaya City is considered one of the regions that has successfully implemented gender mainstreaming policies, as reflected in its high Gender Empowerment Index (GEI) and various awards related to gender equality. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type to examine the achievements of the Surabaya City Government in implementing gender mainstreaming. The data used in this study are secondary data obtained through literature studies and documentation from various sources, such as scientific journals, policy documents, government reports, and official publications related to gender mainstreaming. The collected data were then analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis techniques. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of gender mainstreaming in Surabaya City has been carried out quite well through various gender-responsive development programs. However, the implementation still faces several obstacles, such as ineffective policy communication, limited human resources, low public understanding of gender equality, and less optimal bureaucratic coordination. Based on the analysis using George Edward III’s policy implementation theory, communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure are the main factors influencing the success of gender mainstreaming policy implementation in Surabaya City.

Abstract

Community Learning Centers are non-formal education institutions established by communities to provide educational services, skills training, and empowerment programs aimed at improving the quality of life. This study aims to analyze the achievement of graduate competency standards in the Malay Hantaran-Making Skills Training Program organized by Pusat Kegiatan Belajar Masyarakat (PKBM) Insan Cendikia. A qualitative approach was employed using data triangulation through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. Research subjects included program managers and tutors. Results indicate that the program successfully achieved most key performance indicators (KPIs): 90% participant attendance rate, 60% competency test pass rate through the Competency Testing Center (TUK), 80% market-quality products, sustained skill application, and 40% of participants gaining supplementary income. These findings suggest that PKBM Insan Cendikia has effectively delivered a non-formal education program that transfers locally-based cultural skills while empowering community economic outcomes. Recommendations include improving financial documentation systems, intensive remedial programs, and digital entrepreneurship incubation development.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of Human Rights (HAM) in Indonesia from the perspective of Islamic justice through the lens of Maq??id al-Syar?'ah. Using a normative-empirical method, this research analyzes the gap between the normative aspects (the 1945 Constitution and Law No. 39/1999) and the empirical reality of human rights enforcement in the field. The findings indicate that, formally, Indonesia's human rights regulations are aligned with the principles of Maq??id al-Syar?'ah, particularly in protecting five essential aspects: religion, life, intellect, lineage, and property. However, implementation still faces structural, cultural, and political challenges, resulting in inequalities of justice, discrimination, and weak protection for vulnerable groups. The main opportunities lie in constitutional support and local values, while the solutions offered by Maq??id al-Syar?'ah include integrating the value of public interest (maslahah) into legal policies, human rights education for the public, law enforcement training, cross-cultural and interfaith dialogue, and strict sanctions for violators. This study concludes that systematic alignment between norms and practice through a maq??id approach is necessary for justice to be felt equally by all citizens.

Abstract

This research aims to examine modern organizational theory and critical organizational theory as two emerging approaches within organizational science. Modern organizational theory views organizations as open systems that must adapt to the external environment through structural flexibility, transformational leadership, learning organizations, and the use of technology and knowledge management. Meanwhile, critical organizational theory presents itself as an approach that questions the relations of power, domination, ideology, and alienation within organizational life.

Abstract

Indonesia's low literacy achievement, reflected in its 68th ranking out of 81 countries in PISA 2022, underscores the urgency of developing alternative literacy programs beyond formal schooling. Although literacy research has been widely conducted in formal school settings, studies specifically examining literacy programs in non-formal institutions with inclusive reward systems in Indonesia remain scarce. This research gap motivated the present study, which aims to examine the role of literacy activities in fostering learning enthusiasm and creative capacity among learners at Yayasan Berbudi Luhur Indonesia. The foundation organizes afternoon learning programs for children from kindergarten to elementary school age, encompassing reading, storytelling, writing, and drawing activities, supported by a monthly reward system designed to encourage achievement motivation. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, utilizing observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Participants comprised 30 learners, 5 tutors/facilitators, and foundation administrators. Findings indicate that consistent literacy programs combined with periodic rewards significantly increased learners' enthusiasm, evidenced by an average attendance rate of 87.3%, active participation, and improved quality of produced works. Creative capacity developed through short story writing, illustration drawing, and oral presentations, with a total of 524 works produced over three months. The monthly reward system functioned as an effective extrinsic motivator, progressively cultivating intrinsic motivation in 73% of learners.
