Abstract

This study aimed to determine the relationship between body image and self-confidence among adolescent female Instagram users in Bekasi City. Adolescence is a developmental period characterized by increased attention to physical appearance and intensive use of social media, which may influence individuals' perceptions of their bodies. A positive body image is believed to support the development of higher self-confidence, whereas a negative body image may contribute to lower self-confidence. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The population consisted of female adolescents aged 17–22 years who actively used Instagram and resided in Bekasi City. A purposive sampling technique was used to select 125 participants. The instruments used were a Body Image Scale based on Cash's theory and a Self-Confidence Scale based on Lauster's theory. Data were analyzed using Spearman's rho correlation test. The results showed a significant positive relationship between body image and self-confidence among adolescent female Instagram users (? = 0.6632; p 0.001). The correlation coefficient indicated a strong relationship between the two variables. These findings suggest that the more positive an adolescent's body image is, the higher her level of self-confidence. Conversely, a more negative body image is associated with lower self-confidence. Therefore, the research hypothesis was accepted, indicating that there is a positive and significant relationship between body image and self-confidence among adolescent female Instagram users.

Abstract

Digital transformation brings massive changes in student communication patterns, but on the other hand, it triggers a crisis of moral degradation such as the spread of hoaxes, cyberbullying, and hate speech. This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in guiding and internalizing the values of social media ethics (akhlak al-karimah) among students. Using a descriptive qualitative method based on library research, data were collected from various scientific literature, books, and related journals. The results show that PAI in Higher Education has a strategic role as a moral filter and spiritual guide through contextual-based curriculum reconstruction. The construction of social media ethics from an Islamic perspective relies on the principles of Tabayyun (verification), Qaulan Sadidan (correct words), and Qaulan Ma'rufan (kind words). The actualization of these principles is proven to be able to transform the digital space into a constructive means of education and da'wah.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop the Geopoly Nusantara Educational Game as a learning medium that is valid, practical, and effective in strengthening students' geocultural understanding in Social Studies learning for eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 34 Surabaya. This research employed a Research and Development (RD) method using the ADDIE development model, consisting of the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The research instruments included material expert validation sheets, media expert validation sheets, teacher practicality questionnaires, student response questionnaires, and geocultural understanding tests. Data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis for validation and questionnaire results, while the effectiveness of the learning media was examined through normality tests, homogeneity tests, and the Independent Samples t-test. The findings revealed that the Geopoly Nusantara Educational Game achieved the very feasible category based on evaluations from both material and media experts. The teacher practicality assessment and student responses also indicated that the learning media was very practical, demonstrating its ease of use in classroom learning. Furthermore, the effectiveness test showed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups after the implementation of the learning media, indicating that the Geopoly Nusantara Educational Game effectively strengthened students' geocultural understanding. Therefore, the developed learning media can serve as an interactive and engaging alternative for Social Studies instruction while enhancing students' understanding of the relationship between geographical conditions and Indonesia's cultural diversity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of accountability and transparency principles in the management of Village Fund Allocation (Alokasi Dana Desa/ADD) in Cibiru Wetan Village, Cileunyi District, Bandung Regency. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach using document analysis based on secondary data, including the Village Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBDes) Realization Reports for the 2020–2024 fiscal years published on the official website of Cibiru Wetan Village, supported by relevant laws, regulations, and academic literature. The analysis focused on the conformity of village financial management with the provisions of the Minister of Home Affairs Regulation Number 20 of 2018, the level of accountability, public transparency, and budget realization trends. The results indicate that the management of Village Fund Allocation in Cibiru Wetan Village has been implemented in accordance with the five stages of village financial management, namely planning, implementation, administration, reporting, and accountability. The principle of accountability is reflected in the consistently high average revenue realization of 98.58% and expenditure realization of 98.11% during the 2020–2024 period, as well as the consistent reporting of the Budget Surplus (SiLPA). Transparency has been realized through the periodic publication of APBDes realization reports on the village's official website, allowing the public to access financial information openly. Trend analysis also reveals positive growth in both village revenue and expenditure, with a consistent annual budget surplus resulting in an accumulated SiLPA of approximately IDR 3.79 billion over the five-year period. However, transparency remains largely one-way, and budget absorption has not yet been fully optimized.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at General Higher Education Institutions (PTU) has a strategic role in shaping the character, moral, and spiritual of students amid the development of science and technology. However, its implementation still faces various problems, both in terms of learning methods, curriculum, lecturer competence, and digitalization development. This article aims to analyze various problems of PAI learning at PTU and offer strategic solutions to improve learning effectiveness. The method used is a literature study with a descriptive analytical approach through the review of various scientific literature and related research results. The results of the study indicate that PAI learning is still dominated by conventional approaches centered on lecturers, a curriculum that is less contextual, low utilization of digital technology, and a weak religious academic culture on campus. In addition, the development of social media and the flow of globalization also affect students' motivation to learn religion. Therefore, curriculum reform, innovation in student-centered learning methods, improvement of lecturer competence, integration of digital technology, and strengthening of a religious campus environment are needed so that PAI learning becomes relevant, interactive, and able to shape students who are characterized and have integrity in the modern era.

Abstract

As more women enter the workforce, many working mothers face dual responsibilities as employees and household managers. Since these demands can affect mental health, the ability to maintain a healthy work-life balance is essential. This study aimed to examine the relationship between psychological well-being and work-life balance among working mothers. The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The participants were married working mothers who had children. A purposive sampling technique was used to select the participants. Data were collected using the Ryff Psychological Well-Being Scale and the Fisher Work-Life Balance Scale. Data analysis included validity and reliability testing, assumption testing, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. The findings revealed a positive relationship between work-life balance and psychological well-being among working mothers. Psychological well-being tends to improve when harmony between personal and professional life is achieved. The study concludes that maintaining a balance between work demands and personal life can enhance the psychological well-being of working mothers. Therefore, effective time management, more flexible work policies, and a supportive work environment are needed to promote their psychological well-being.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the planning process for the development of educational facilities at SMAN 2 Koto Baru, identify the supporting and inhibiting factors, and examine the strategies implemented by the school to enhance the quality of its educational facilities. A qualitative research approach with a descriptive design was employed. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, and were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the planning of educational facilities at SMAN 2 Koto Baru is conducted systematically through a series of stages, including needs identification, assessment of existing facilities, priority setting, and the preparation of the School Work Plan and Budget (RKAS). This process involves the principal, vice principal for facilities and infrastructure, teachers, administrative staff, and the school committee. The supporting factors include government financial assistance through the School Operational Assistance (BOS) Fund, active participation from the school community, and the principal's strong leadership commitment. Meanwhile, the main challenges comprise limited financial resources, the increasing demand for technology-based learning facilities, and space constraints. The study recommends diversifying funding sources and conducting regular evaluations to ensure sustainable educational facilities planning that effectively supports continuous improvements in teaching and learning quality.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has created a new form of human trafficking through the recruitment of digital migrant workers via social media and online platforms. This phenomenon presents legal challenges because exploitation no longer necessarily involves the physical movement of victims but is carried out through technological control and digital coercion. This study aims to analyze the adequacy of Indonesia’s legal framework, identify law enforcement challenges, and examine the need for harmonization with international legal instruments in addressing digital human trafficking. The research employs a normative legal method using statutory and conceptual approaches. The findings indicate that existing regulations provide a legal basis but do not explicitly regulate digital human trafficking. Law enforcement remains constrained by limited technological capacity, low digital literacy, weak inter-agency coordination, and cross-border jurisdictional complexities. Therefore, legal reform and regulatory harmonization are necessary to strengthen the protection of digital migrant workers and improve the effectiveness of combating human trafficking in the digital era.

Abstract

This study examines the resistance of the Samin community to Dutch colonialism in Bojonegoro between 1890 and 1917. Previous studies have primarily positioned Blora and Rembang as the main centers of the Samin Movement, while Bojonegoro has generally been treated only as an area of its expansion. As a result, the relationship between local conditions in Bojonegoro, the control of teak forests, taxation, village obligations, and forms of Samin resistance has not been discussed comprehensively. This study aims to explain the background of the movement and analyze its forms of resistance within the social, economic, and political context of Bojonegoro. It employs the historical method, consisting of heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The sources include colonial archives, government regulations, forestry reports, official investigations of the Samin Movement, contemporary newspapers, and oral testimonies. James C. Scott’s theory of everyday resistance is used as an analytical framework. The findings show that colonial control over land, forests, labor, taxation, and village administration restricted the community’s living space. Samin teachings then became a moral foundation for rejecting these policies. Resistance took the form of refusing to pay taxes, rejecting compulsory labor, opposing state control over forests and village granaries, and disobeying administrative regulations. The colonial government responded through surveillance, arrests, exile, and official investigations.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the types of conversational implicature and their processess used by the main character in the film “Materialists” (2025). This study applied Yule’s (1996) theory of conversational implicature, which classifies the types of Conversational Implicature into generalized Conversational Implicature and particularized Conversational Implicature. A qualitative method was employed to describe and interpret the utterances of Lucy Mason that reflect Types of Converstionl Implicature and Processes of Conversational Implicature. The results show that out of 34 data, 16 utterances are categorized as generalized conversational Implicature and 18 as particularized conversational implicature. Regarding processes, there are 10 data of PP, 11 of II, and 13 of IR. The findings indicate that generalized conversational implicature appears more frequently, while Indirect Illocution and Interpersonal Rhetoric are the most dominant processess. This study demonstrates that dialogues in the film convey complex implied meanings that depend on context and social interaction among characters.
