Abstract

The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies has permeated various industries, ushering in transformative changes. One such sector experiencing significant shifts is accountancy. This paper presents a systematic literature review to discern the impact of AI on the domain of accountancy, aiming to unveil its repercussions, challenges, and difficulties. The review draws from a vast array of academic journals, white papers, industry reports, and conference proceedings. The results indicate that while AI streamlines tasks like data processing and forecasting, leading to enhanced efficiency and accuracy, it also brings about potential challenges. These challenges include the demand for new skill sets, fears of job displacement, ethical considerations, and the requirement for updated regulatory frameworks. However, a noteworthy observation during this review was the complexities and challenges in carrying out a systematic review itself, given the rapid technological advancements and diverse perspectives in the existing literature. Inconsistencies in terminologies, overlapping scopes, and the multifaceted nature of AI applications in accountancy further complicated the process. This paper offers a dual contribution: shedding light on the implications of AI in accountancy and providing insights into the intricacies faced while conducting a systematic literature review in a dynamic field.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of digital empowerment on female students in online university settings, focusing on internet connectivity, digital tools, and barriers to success. Using a survey distributed through Google Forms, we collected responses from 120 female participants across four faculties: Medical, Economics, Computer Science, and Education. The purpose was to assess how reliable internet access influences academic performance and engagement, evaluate the effectiveness of digital resources for professional skill development, and identify obstacles affecting women's participation. Results revealed that reliable internet access significantly enhances academic performance and engagement. Digital tools were highly rated for their effectiveness in skill development and career advancement. However, technological limitations and socio-economic factors were identified as major barriers. The findings suggest that while online universities offer valuable opportunities, addressing technological and socio-economic challenges is crucial for maximizing their benefits. Recommendations include improving internet infrastructure and providing targeted support to overcome socio-economic barriers. Future research should explore the longitudinal effects of digital empowerment initiatives and their impact on long-term academic and career outcomes for women.

Abstract

Antibiotic resistance poses a significant global health challenge, exacerbated by inappropriate self-medication practices. This study explores the level of awareness and practices concerning antibiotic use among university students in Afghanistan. The research aimed to evaluate university students' knowledge of antibiotic resistance, their self-medication behaviors, and overall understanding of appropriate antibiotic use. The goal was to identify gaps in knowledge and inform strategies for educational interventions. An online survey was administered via Google Forms to 150 students from various provinces in Afghanistan. Participants were selected to represent a diverse geographical distribution, including Kabul (35.71%) and seven other provinces. The survey assessed participants' knowledge about antibiotics, awareness of resistance risks, and self-medication practices. The survey results indicated a moderate level of awareness about antibiotic resistance among students. Despite this, many students reported engaging in self-medication. Knowledge deficiencies were observed regarding the proper use of antibiotics and the implications of resistance. The study found significant variability in understanding, with some students showing high confidence while others lacked basic knowledge. The study underscores the need for targeted educational programs to improve awareness and correct misconceptions about antibiotics among university students. Addressing these knowledge gaps is essential for promoting responsible antibiotic use and combating resistance. Future research should evaluate the impact of such educational interventions on altering self-medication behaviors and enhancing antibiotic stewardship.

Abstract

This study provides an in-depth analysis of the factors that impede the economic sustainability of former female migrant workers in Sumbawa Regency. The research seeks to identify both cultural and structural barriers that hinder their economic stability, while proposing alternative solutions to enhance their economic resilience in line with the development goals of Sumbawa Regency. Utilizing a qualitative approach, the study identifies two primary categories of obstacles: cultural and structural. Cultural barriers include personal financial mismanagement, high familial dependency, and widespread fatalistic attitudes among former migrant workers. Structural barriers are primarily linked to exploitative practices by recruitment agents, such as unclear contracts, irresponsible conduct, agent-related debts, withheld wages, and a lack of accountability. These challenges are further exacerbated by limited government support, inadequate banking services, and restricted access to financial institutions. As potential solutions, the study proposes skills-based economic empowerment, improved access to capital, the development of social networks and community support, enhanced financial literacy and planning, and strengthened policy frameworks and legal protections.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the need for special attention to natural resource management amid the ongoing environmental degradation in the world. The objective of this study is to explore the management of natural resources for the creation of human welfare from the perspective of Islamic economics. The research employs a qualitative methodology. The findings indicate that the preservation of natural resources must align with the teachings of Islam as outlined in the Quran and Sunnah. As citizens of Indonesia, the community is obliged to comply with existing regulations in managing available natural resources. Any party that violates these regulations and causes environmental damage will face criminal sanctions commensurate with the offenses committed. The community can utilize natural resources such as marine resources, water, wind, flora, vegetation, and fauna by allocating them to various sectors in order to obtain compensation, provided that the sustainability of these resources is maintained and excessive exploitation is prevented.
