Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that human life is inevitably exposed to various risks, both economic risks such as business bankruptcy, fires, and losses, as well as personal risks such as accidents, illnesses, and even death. Although death is certain, the exact time of its occurrence is unknown. The purpose of this research is to determine the impact of demographic factors on the growth of Sharia insurance in Indonesia. This study employs a qualitative research method. The results show that insurance companies, as non-bank financial institutions engaged in risk coverage, are one of the pillars of the national economy. This is due to their ability to accept risk transfers from the public and their role in absorbing and accumulating public funds.

Abstract

An Authentic Deed is a document that holds perfect evidentiary power regarding the statements contained within it, without the need for additional evidence. This is because authentic deeds are created based on the provisions of laws and regulations. In 2021, a land mafia case emerged involving the Notary/Land Deed Official (PPAT) profession. The case began when the household assistant (ART) of Nirina Zubir's family offered to help Nirina Zubir's mother recover six lost land ownership certificates by involving a Notary/PPAT she knew. This research employs a juridical-normative method with a statutory and case approach. Normative legal research examines legal literature, secondary data, and tertiary legal materials. In this case, it is indicated that there is a legal flaw in the process of transferring land rights without the direct consent of the concerned parties. In the performance of duties by the Notary/PPAT, particularly regarding the issuance of powers to sell land rights, it is crucial that regulations governing Notaries/PPAT are strictly adhered to. The sale and purchase deed was made without fulfilling several necessary aspects that determine its validity. A legal review was conducted on the PPAT notary, who is authorized to issue the deed of sale and purchase, which was later used as a document in applying for a replacement certificate of ownership (SHM) at the National Land Agency (BPN).

Abstract

The role of women in shaping the future of technology has become a critical area of focus in recent years, with efforts aimed at addressing gender disparities and promoting inclusivity in tech fields. The research examines educational barriers, workplace gender biases, mentorship programs, and the impact of female entrepreneurship on innovation within the technology sector. A quantitative research design was employed, utilizing a survey with 120 participants from four faculties—Medical, Computer Science, Social Science, and Education—across different age groups. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to uncover patterns and insights. The results indicate that educational barriers, such as the lack of encouragement for women in STEM fields, remain a significant challenge. Gender biases in the workplace were also found to negatively affect career advancement opportunities for women in technology, with participants reporting substantial concerns regarding systemic discrimination. However, mentorship programs were seen as highly effective in encouraging women to pursue careers in technology, and female entrepreneurship was perceived as having a notable impact on innovation within the sector. The findings suggest that while challenges persist, there are emerging opportunities to enhance women’s contributions to technology, particularly through education, mentorship, and support for female entrepreneurs. In conclusion, the study emphasizes the need for continued efforts to address gender inequality in technology fields, with a focus on fostering supportive environments that enable women to thrive in the industry.

Abstract

This study explores the social discrimination faced by former prisoners in Wonomulyo, Sulawesi Barat, and its impact on their reintegration into society. Social discrimination, fueled by negative perceptions and deep-rooted stereotypes, significantly hinders the ability of former inmates to adapt and contribute positively to their communities. The research highlights how local cultural norms, which emphasize social harmony and moral values, exacerbate the stigma attached to former prisoners, viewing them as threats to the community's well-being. The study reveals that this discrimination not only affects the individuals but also extends to their families, further isolating them from society. The findings also show that lack of societal understanding about the importance of reintegration, coupled with inadequate systemic support, creates barriers for former prisoners to access employment, build relationships, and regain self-esteem. The research concludes that a holistic approach is needed, involving community education, inclusive policies, and empowerment programs, to address the discrimination and support the successful reintegration of former prisoners. Such efforts will help shift the social construct from one of exclusion to one of acceptance and opportunity.
