Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze effective Qur'an learning strategies in improving students' Qur'an reading skills at Al Ishlah Special Program Elementary Madrasah. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and document analysis. The results of the study indicate that the application of the talaqqi and tahsin methods, as well as the use of interactive digital media, contribute significantly to improving the quality of students' Qur'an reading. The talaqqi method allows direct correction by teachers, while the tahsin method encourages improvement through structured exercises. On the other hand, the use of digital media such as interactive applications and learning videos supports more enjoyable independent learning. Individual and group approaches also strengthen the effectiveness of learning through personal attention and a collaborative learning atmosphere. The implications of this study indicate that learning strategies that integrate traditional methods and modern technology need to be continuously developed by madrasahs and educators to optimize Qur'an learning outcomes sustainably. Abstract

This study aims to improve the gross motor skills of children aged 5–6 years through jump rope activities at TK Cahaya Islam, Garut Regency. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in three cycles. The research subjects were 19 children from group B2. Data were collected through observation and analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative techniques. The results showed that jump rope activities significantly enhanced children's gross motor abilities, especially in terms of balance and agility. Improvements were observed in each cycle, from the initial condition to the third cycle, with the majority of children reaching the "developing as expected" and "very well developed" categories. Therefore, jump rope games are effective strategies to foster gross motor development in early childhood. Keywords: ross motor skills; jump rope game; early childhood

Abstract

This study aims to describe the model of spiritual development in early childhood through religious ritual activities in Islamic Early Childhood Education institutions (PIAUD). The research is grounded in the urgency of spiritual development as a fundamental part of holistic child growth, which remains underexplored in the context of Islamic education. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed using a case study method. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model. The findings reveal that ritual activities such as daily prayers, dhuha prayer, and collective dhikr serve as effective tools for instilling spiritual values through consistent habituation. Teachers play a central role as moral exemplars (uswah hasanah), while integrated learning enables the infusion of spiritual values into non-ritual activities like storytelling and play. Parental involvement further reinforces the internalization of Islamic values at home. The study concludes that nurturing children's spirituality requires a synergy of habituation, teacher modeling, integrated learning, and family collaboration. Abstract

This study aims to examine the narrative adaptation process of animal stories in the Qur'an into children's storybooks, using Tafsir Al-Jalalain as the primary interpretive reference. The focus of this research is to analyze how the messages contained in Qur'anic verses and classical interpretations can be effectively communicated to children through illustrated storytelling media. This study employs a qualitative approach based on literature review, with Linda Hutcheon’s theory of narrative adaptation as the analytical framework. The findings indicate that the adaptation process involves three main aspects: (1) media and style transposition, which refers to the transformation of theological texts into visual-narrative media appropriate for children; (2) reinterpretation, which simplifies the meanings of the verses and tafsir into accessible stories while maintaining the core messages; and (3) intertextuality, which highlights the connections between Qur'anic texts, classical tafsir, and the adapted narratives in children's books. The transformation of narrative elements such as plot, characters, conflict, and moral messages is carried out with consideration of children's cognitive and emotional development, while preserving the integrity of Islamic values. This research concludes that narrative adaptation of Qur'anic animal stories can serve as an effective literacy-based da'wah strategy for introducing Islamic teachings to young audiences in an engaging, visual, and educational manner. Abstract

Storytelling is an effective teaching method for enhancing children's story comprehension skills. This study aims to explore the use of flannel board media as a visual aid in the storytelling method, considering its flexibility and appeal in illustrating story elements such as characters, settings, and plot. The research employed a quantitative approach using a One Group Pre-Test and Post-Test design, with data collection techniques including observation and interviews with children aged 5–6 years at TK DWP Jerukgamping. The analysis results showed that the t-value of 30.8 was significantly higher than the critical t-values at the 0.05 (2.14479) and 0.01 (2.97684) significance levels, indicating a significant impact of using the flannel board in storytelling on children's language skills. These findings suggest that flannel board media in storytelling can be applied as an effective teaching strategy by educators to enhance early childhood language development. Abstract

The ability to count is very important in the cognitive development of young children. Unfortunately, many children aged 5 to 6 years struggle to understand the basics of mathematics. This problem often arises due to the lack of engaging learning tools and teaching methods that are not suitable for the nature and developmental needs of the child. This study aims to describe how effective educational game tools in the form of counting boards are in helping children aged 5 to 6 years learn to count. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with 5 children from the Al-Jabbar Islamic Kindergarten in Malang selected using purposive sampling techniques. The data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and then analyzed using triangulation techniques. Findings from the research indicate that the use of counting boards regularly can improve children's understanding of addition and subtraction, accelerate problem-solving, and increase children's confidence when counting. The results of this study emphasize the importance of using concrete, enjoyable tools that are appropriate for children's cognitive development stages as an effective strategy in early childhood education. Abstract

The golden age (0–5 years) is a critical period for children's growth and development, so early detection of malnutrition and the risk of growth failure is crucial to prevent long-term impacts. This study aims to explore the urgency of routine monitoring of early childhood nutritional status and identify risk factors for growth failure. The research method used a descriptive qualitative approach with field observation techniques on 40 children aged 0–72 months at the Ciroyom Integrated Health Post (Posyandu), Tasikmalaya. Data were collected through anthropometric measurements, parent interviews, and developmental examinations using the Pre-Screening Development Questionnaire (KPSP), hearing, and vision tests. The results showed that some children experienced stunting and wasting, as indicated by z-scores below WHO standards. Causal factors include a lack of parental nutritional knowledge, suboptimal parenting patterns, unhygienic environments, and recurrent infections. The conclusion of this study confirms that routine monitoring through Posyandu and comprehensive growth and development detection are essential as early intervention strategies to prevent growth failure in early childhood. Abstract

The development of digital technology in the Society 5.0 era demands a transformation in educational approaches, including early childhood education. This study aims to explore the role of digital media in supporting more effective learning experiences for young children. The method used is library research, involving a review of relevant literature to gain a comprehensive understanding of the topic. Findings reveal that digital media can provide interactive, personalized, and collaborative learning experiences. Educational platforms like ABCmouse and Khan Academy Kids offer engaging content through games and stories, helping children understand foundational concepts in enjoyable ways. However, challenges such as concerns over screen time and the quality of digital content also emerge. Therefore, the active role of educators and parents is crucial in supervising and selecting appropriate media. With thoughtful and well-directed use, digital media can serve as an effective educational tool to support children's cognitive, social, and emotional development. Abstract

Training fine motor skills from an early age is very important, as these abilities influence daily activities such as writing, drawing, and cutting. This activity employed the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, carried out in stages—from situation analysis, focus group discussions, program implementation, to monitoring and evaluation. The program was conducted in Sinarjaya Village in the form of ecoprint training and mentoring. It involved one kindergarten (TK) and two Islamic kindergartens (RA), starting with teacher training followed by direct mentoring for children. Utilizing the abundant natural resources in the village, the ecoprint activity was carried out using the pounding technique, which involves hammering leaves onto fabric to create natural patterns. This process encourages children to actively move their fingers and wrists, making it highly effective for training small muscle movements. The assessment focused on the composition of colors and shapes, children’s consistency during the activity, and their creativity and neatness. This activity not only improved children’s fine motor skills but also raised awareness among educators about how the surrounding environment can be used as a fun and engaging learning medium. The children showed enthusiasm, consistency, and enjoyed the learning process without boredom. Ecoprint with the pounding technique became a creative and meaningful educational experience.
