Papanda Journal of Mathematics and Sciences Research
Papanda Journal of Mathematics and Sciences Research (PJMSR) is a scientific journal published by Papanda (Paguyuban Panalungtik Sunda) since 2022. This journal was established to provide up-to-date knowledge in the fields of mathematics and science (physics, chemistry, biology) widely to all academics, researchers and students who have an interest in this field. PJMSR is an open-access journal published twice a year (June - December). All submitted manuscripts will be initially reviewed by the editor and then evaluated by two reviewers with relevant fields through a double-blind review process. This is to ensure the quality of the manuscripts published in the journal.

This study examines the relationship between the ability to connect mathematically independent learning. Mathematical connection ability is closely related to real life. Learning activities that connect lessons with daily life will also be able to increase learning independence in students. Independence in learning can be interpreted as active learning activities on the basis of their own volition or appearing within themselves without being required and directed. This research is a study of a number of literatures. The literature review that supports the theoretical analysis approach includes: learning theories, connection abilities and learning independence. The sources of this research study are reference books, scientific journals and other supporting media. The results of the study are, students' connection abilities will be formed by the formation of good student learning independence. The better the learning independence, the easier it is for students to develop their mathematical connection abilities.

The Covid-19 pandemic has affected almost all aspects of human life. To break the chain of transmission of the virus, many restrictions have been put in place by the government, including the Indonesian government. The use of multimedia and internet technology can change the style in transferring knowledge which is an alternative to learning in conventional classes. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the implementation of Learning from Home at the Junior High School Education Level during the Corona Virus Disease 19 (Covid-19) Pandemic. Based on data processing and analysis of student responses, online learning carried out by teachers in online mathematics learning using Moodle was carried out well with positive student responses in the implementation of online learning, material understanding and effectiveness in the application of online learning using Moodle.

The purpose of this research is to provide information regarding guidance and counseling to all students of Nurul Yaqin Islamic Middle School in the even semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. This classroom action research was conducted at Nurul Yaqin Islamic Middle School, which is located on Jl. Ciakar Ds. Leuwidulang Kec. Sodonghilir Kab. Tasikmalaya. The method used in this classroom action research is to provide several actions on classical guidance services. The research subjects were all students of classes VII, VIII, and IX. Which amounted to 356. The results show that by providing this classical guidance service, students' knowledge of guidance and counseling can improve from those who do not know at all to be better and even the responses of the students themselves are very excited, so it can be concluded both theoretically and empirically through this service. can seek new knowledge for all students, especially in the Islamic Middle School Nurul Yaqin itself regarding guidance and counseling.

In elementary school there are fractions which are one of the mathematics materials taught to students. Fractional numbers are numbers that consist of two parts, namely the number as the numerator and the number as the denominator where the two parts of the number are separated by a slash symbol (/). The format for writing fractions is as follows: where "A" is the divisor/number and "B" is the divisor (Muchlis, A.N 2018). However, from several research results that have been carried out, it shows that students still have difficulty in learning the material of fractions. The research method chosen in this study is the SLR (Systematic Literature Review) method. Data collection was carried out by documenting and reviewing all articles related to fractional learning in the 2017–2020 period. The articles used in this study were 30 journal articles obtained from Google Schoolar, Sinta, and Garuda. This study aims to conduct a literature review of learning fractions in elementary schools. Based on this research, it was found that the learning model that is widely applied in learning fractions is the Mathematics Realistic Education learning model and the learning media used is folding paper learning media (Origami). By studying fractions using the Mathematics Realistic Education learning model and folding paper learning media (Origami) can improve student learning outcomes in elementary school.

In facing the challenges of the globalization era, it is necessary to have the role of human resources who have the ability to think critically to solve problems with abstract thought processes and arrange them in an effective way of solving. Biology learning as part of science learning has an important role in improving the quality of education and producing quality students, namely humans who are able to think critically, creatively and logically. In developing critical thinking skills, students need to master biological concepts and be trained to find solutions related to phenomena that occur. This cannot be done by applying conventional methods, but there is a need for learning media that support students to explore and find concepts so that students are actively involved in learning. Learning by using Vee Diagram media as an effort to develop students' critical thinking skills so as to make student learning more meaningful and familiarize students in combining a theory with methodology as well as getting conclusions and values that provide benefits from what they learn

The purpose of this study is to provide information about learning Cultural Arts to all students of Nurul Yaqin Islamic Junior High School in the even semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. This research is to discuss about learning art and culture by applying literacy and numeracy systems. Bearing in mind that the issues discussed in this article are about the application of Literacy and Numeration learning to Cultural Arts learning in class VIII A-C, namely visual arts and music/vocal arts. This research was conducted at Nurul Yaqin Islamic Junior High School, which is located on Jl. Ciakar Ds. Leuwidulang District. Sodonghilir Kab. Tasikmalaya. The results of the study show that by giving this cultural arts learning, it can seek students' knowledge of art insights from those who are only considered to know to know how art is and how to learn it even the responses of the students themselves are very exsaited, so it can be concluded both theoretically and empirically through this service can seek new knowledge for all students, especially in Islamic Junior High School Nurul Yaqin itself regarding learning this Cultural Arts.

This study aims to explore the potential of ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence platform developed by OpenAI, in assisting the process of writing research articles on mathematics education. This research is a qualitative descriptive study that collects a sample of data which is then checked using Turnitin to determine the plagiarism level of the contents of articles created by ChatGPT. Nonetheless, this study has limitations in the limited number of samples due to time and resource constraints. The purpose of this research is to find out how ChatGPT can help in the process of making math education research articles and whether it can improve the quality of the research articles that are made. The results of this research are expected to contribute to the latest studies on ChatGPT's ability to assist in the process of writing math education research articles, as well as provide input for teachers, lecturers, and other researchers in utilizing ChatGPT as a tool in the process of writing research articles

This study aims to describe the mathematical comprehension ability of students in class XI of SMK, particularly on matrix material. This research is qualitative descriptive research. The data source obtained was derived from test results, interviews, and documentation. From the research conducted can be it is concluded that the results of students' mathematical comprehension ability on matrix material are included in the low (a)category. the research has shown that there are categories of students' mathematical comprehension ability, namely: students with mathematical comprehension ability in the high category totaled 1 person or 7.69%; (b) Students with mathematical comprehension ability in the medium category totaled 5 people or 38.46%; (c) Students with mathematical comprehension ability in the low category totaled 7 people or 53.84%. As for abilities, the highest mathematical understanding is found in the indicator of re-expressing a concept

Education that helps development in the current era of globalization is education that is able to foster students' achievements, potential and abilities. In each stage of learning it is necessary to develop cognitive skills so that they can train students' creative thinking abilities. The purpose of this research is to develop the ability to think creatively through the debate method. The research method uses a true-experimental design and the instruments used are test questions with indicators of creative thinking ability and student activity observation sheets in learning using the debate method. The data collection technique was descriptive quantitative by testing the hypothesis using the nonparametric Two Independent Sample Test, namely the Mann-Whitney test and the gain score pretest-posttest The results showed that there was an increase in critical thinking skills in the experimental class with the highest N-Gain value of 0.39 (medium category) and in the control class only 0.26 (low category). The results of the hypothesis test obtained a significance value of 0.000 <0.005 and student activity in learning using the debate method obtained an average value of 70.70% in the good category. Based on the data analysis, it shows that the application of the debate method is very effective in helping students develop creative thinking skills.
