Abstract

Teenage students, especially those in high school, are in the process of self-discovery. During this quest for identity, students may be susceptible to negative influences that deviate from Islamic teachings, potentially affecting their character. The challenge for students in their search for identity becomes even more pronounced in the rapidly evolving digital world, where they can access vast amounts of information to shape their self-concept. In this process, Islamic education and noble conduct serve as bridges to guide students in their self-discovery journey, enabling them to align their lives with the teachings of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. The researcher conducted a study on the Islamic Education and Noble Conduct textbooks for 10th-grade students to assess whether the content in these textbooks can assist students in developing in line with Islamic values. The qualitative literature review method revealed that the Islamic Education and Noble Conduct textbooks for 10th-grade students already encompass Islamic moral values, serving as a foundation for students to shape their character and self-identity in a world filled with challenges.

Abstract

Objective: This study examines M. Quraish Shihab’s interpretation of Quranic verses related to rainwater in Tafsir al-Misbah, focusing on its implications for sustainability, particularly soil fertility, agriculture, and groundwater management. Rainwater plays a crucial role in environmental preservation, supporting agriculture, water conservation, and ecosystem health. In Islamic teachings, rain is a manifestation of Allah's mercy and sustenance, frequently highlighted in the Quran. Method: Employing a qualitative approach, the study analyzes Shihab’s interpretation of key Quranic verses, including Surah an-Nahl (16:65), Fussilat (41:39), al-Baqarah (2:22), and al-An’am (6:99), to explore the theological and practical dimensions of rainwater utilization. Results: Shihab’s exegesis underscores rainwater's vital role in reviving barren land, producing fruits, supporting plant growth, and mitigating environmental degradation. His analysis highlights rainwater as a resource that aligns with sustainable practices, such as reducing soil erosion, conserving water, and improving air quality. Novelty: The study bridges Quranic exegesis with contemporary sustainability discourse, contributing to the emerging field of Islamic environmental ethics. It provides a foundation for promoting eco-friendly practices grounded in religious teachings, offering actionable insights for policymakers, environmentalists, and Islamic scholars to integrate ecological stewardship with divine mandates.

Abstract

Objective: The study aims to instill a disciplined attitude in children aged 5–6 years through drum band extracurricular activities at RA Muslimat NU 10 Banin Banat, Gresik. Methods: This research adopts a descriptive-qualitative method. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews with the principal, drum corps coach, class teachers, and participating children, as well as documentation. Results: The findings reveal that the drum band extracurricular effectively fosters discipline through consistent signaling by the instructors, such as long whistles and three short whistles, each conveying specific instructions. Non-compliance is addressed through direct reprimands. The discipline cultivated during these activities extends to daily school routines, where children consistently place their shoes on racks, line up when entering the classroom or during recess, and maintain order when leaving school. Novelty: This research highlights the unique contribution of drum band extracurricular activities in developing discipline among young children. It demonstrates how structured and consistent techniques, such as whistle commands, can effectively influence children’s behaviors both during extracurricular sessions and in their broader daily routines, offering valuable insights for early childhood education practices.
