Abstract

The purpose of this study was to see how the relationship between self-efficacy and student academic procrastination in completing lecture assignments during the COVID-19 pandemic. Self-efficacy is the most important thing in helping students to complete lecture assignments during the COVID-19 pandemic, the influence of self-efficacy on the individual's way of thinking will be able to direct encouragement and action to achieve a positive outcome for the individual himself. Meanwhile, academic procrastination in students can prevent them from completing a certain course. The longer they delay, the longer it will take them to complete the coursework. This research uses quantitative methods. The scale used is the self-efficacy scale adapted from research conducted by Mulia Sulistyowati, and the academic procrastination scale adapted from research conducted by Nova Emi Aliance Nainggolan. The subjects in this study were 116 students. The results of this study indicate that there is a negative relationshi this means that the lower the self-efficacy, the higher the student's academic procrastination and vice versa, the higher the self-efficacy, the lower the student's academic procrastination.Keywords: self-efficacy, academic procrastination, COVID-19

Abstract

This study aims to determine the profile of Self-Efficacy (SE) and Self-Directed Learning (SDL) of students who excel academically and non-academicly based on gender at the University of Riau. The study is expected to provide an overview of the potential for academic and non-academic achievements and the correlation of these achievements to the success of students in completing studies, getting jobs, entrepreneurship and continuing their studies. The instrument used is a questionnaire using a Likert scale. The SE indicator consists of 5 indicators, namely (confidence in completing tasks, self-motivation, hard work, overcoming obstacles, and completing tasks in a broad or narrow perspective) The SDL indicator consists of 5 indicators, namely (awareness), learning strategies, activities learning activities, evaluations, and interpersonal skills. Data analysis was carried out descriptively to map the profiles of academic and non-academic achievement students related to SE and SDL. The results showed that the number of male outstanding students was 31% 69% female, SE male 4.36 female 4.31, male SDL 4.20 female 4.18, male students have academic and non-academic achievements of 60% female 56%. This shows there is no the real difference between SE and SDL in male and female students, they have the same opportunities to achieve academic and non-academic achievements.Keywords: self-efficacy, learning independence, achievement, gender

Abstract

Films are often considered only as a medium for entertainment purposes, but films can also display hidden messages according to the wishes of the creators, including the Disney film Mulan which was broadcast simultaneously throughout the world via Disney Plus Hotstar 4 September 2020 streaming application. in it some messages carry the theme of gender equality, which is still a controversial issue in several parts of the world, including in China, the setting of the place where Mulan's film is told, this research will analyze symbols containing messages representing gender equality in the film Mulan with Roland Barthes' semiotic approach, and as a result, Mulan's film contains symbols of gender equality. This Disney film carries the message that men and women should be given equal opportunities in any case, including defending the country on the battlefield.

Abstract

mahasiswa yang melaporkan tingkat pengendalian diri internal yang lebih rendah ketika membuka platform media sosial Instagram ditandai dengan kurangnya pengendalian diri yang diperlukan untuk mengambil langkah-langkah yang diperlukan untuk mendapatkan hasil yang diinginkan dan menghindari yang tidak diinginkan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memastikan apakah penggunaan Instagram kompulsif terkait dengan kurangnya kontrol diri. Sebanyak 150 mahasiswa berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Setiap peserta mengisi kuesioner Google form yang menyertakan skala Kecanduan Media Sosial Instagram berdasarkan karakteristik Young (Andriany, 2019) dan skala pengendalian diri (Drigantoro, 2020) untuk mengumpulkan data. Data dianalisis menggunakan metode korelasi product moment Pearson dan paket statistik SPSS versi 26. Saran mengatasi kecanduan Instagram bagi mahasiswa Universitas Wijaya Putra Surabaya. Koefisien korelasi Pearson antara Self-Control dan kecanduan Instagram adalah -0,493, menunjukkan hubungan yang moderat antara kedua konsep tersebut.

Abstract

The world was facing a major outbreak, namely Covid 19, Indonesia was also one of the countries exposed to this virus. All aspects of life have changed from normal conditions, many activities have stopped, one of which was the learning process at school. Student learning activities at school have moved into learning activities at home. Parents replace the role of school teachers in guiding and accompanying during the learning process. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of parents in learning at home during the COVID-19 pandemic, the research method used was a qualitative method of case study approach with interview techniques to research subjects, namely parents, the research subject involved 3 parents. The results showed that the research findings were based on the data obtained that parents in student learning at home during the COVID-19 pandemic were said to have an influence when parents helped children in learning at home during the COVID-19 pandemic, which means that the role of parents were needed for the learning process of children during the study. from home, the role of parents were quite large in learning not only as a companion but also as an educator who replaces the role of teachers at schoolKeywords: parents, learning, covid 19

Abstract

The implementation of the Government's policy on the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence in Higher Education is one of the policies that should be implemented in every university as an effort to fulfill the rights and protection of the academic community. A survey of the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2020 found 77% of lecturers stated that sexual violence had occurred on campus and 63% of them did not report cases they knew to the campus. The high phenomenon of sexual violence in the university environment is a challenge for every university bureaucracy which is expected to be able to produce problem solving in the protection of the academic community. This study aims to determine the implementation of the Government's policy on the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence the university environment along with the supporting and inhibiting factors. This study uses qualitative research methods with data collection through observation, interviews and documentation. Determination of informants is done by using snowball sampling.The validity of the data using increased persistence and triangulation. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data collection, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the implementation of government policies on PPKS in universities, especially in UNITRI and UIN Malang, had not been going well. Several indicators of socialization that are not optimal and evenly distributed, availability of resources, lack of understanding and non-uniform perspectives are obstacles in the implementation process. Supporting factors include the existence of rules as the basis for the Government's policy on the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence in higher education and mutual agreement to ensure a sense of security and comfort in the learning process.

Abstract

The Gresik Regency Government through the Office of Family Planning, Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (KBP3A) has a breakthrough program for women's empowerment from 2018 to 2021 by establishing a women's school as a means of publishing commitments from the Gresik Government in increasing the empowerment of marginalized women through the Women's School. Besides that, one of the reasons why this activity is important is so that the public also knows the commitments that have been made by the local government and village governments towards improving the strategic position of women, especially the success of the Women's School program. in Gresik district by inaugurating 10 Women's Schools located in new areas. Empowerment through women's schools is carried out by making women aware of their rights and providing counseling to village women about gender education. In addition, girls' schools provide village women with the ability to confidently convey their aspirations to their families and communities. The results obtained by members of being a women's school are, getting a lot of knowledge about gender equality and gender fair education for women, gaining knowledge about village laws, so that women can also play a role in rural welfare development.

Abstract

In Indonesia, the use of facial care products for men is still considered as a taboo. Normalizing the use of facial care products for men is a form of challenge to the concept of toxic masculinity. MS Glow for Men, an Indonesian facial care product especially created for men, has released a video ad titled “Semua Juga Bisa". This video ad became trending topic because of choosing brand ambassador with Stand-up Comedians Babe Cabita and Marshel Widianto who criticed because do not represent the beauty standards in Indonesia. This is MS Glow for Men’s effort to break the beauty standards. This study analyzed Roland Barthes’ the semiotics of communication using Social Construction of Reality Theory. Through the observation the researcher has found that the video ad is against two things, namely masculinity and the beauty standard that is constructed by society. The implementation of those two things above described in the codes in the video ad. Besides that, this study examined the deconstruction of the meaning of male masculinity in the video ad to discuss the myths and ideologies of representation of male masculinity. The researcher also wanted to find the representation of beauty standards in the video ad.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of length of work, age, education level, and number of dependents on the contribution of female workers in family income. This study reveals that female workers in the emping home industry have a role in increasing family income. This study shows that the wages of female workers contribute 8.4% to family income while the remaining 91.6% is influenced by other factors, this indicates that the contribution given is still relatively low because <50%. female workers still live in poor conditions because their income is too small. The economic life of emping melinjo female workers has not changed in their lives because the income earned has not been able to meet secondary and tertiary needs. Suggestions in this study include (1) for the emping home industry in Nogosari Village, it is expected to be able to maintain and be able to add policies that favor workers, and (2) for female workers it is recommended to have skills or side jobs with the aim of increasing the income earned, so that it can provide additional family income

Abstract

Parenting is an interaction that exists between parents and their children. Parenting that is applied dailyplays a very important role in shaping the character of children. Parenting in which it applies that childrenmust obey all the orders of their parents is called authoritarian parenting style. This study aims to determinethe relationship between authoritarian parenting on the character and mental development of children. Thesubject of this study was a child who was raised with an authoritarian parenting style as many as 26 people.This research uses survey methods and literature study. The purpose of distributing this questionnaire is toobtain and collect opinions from the respondents which can then be used as primary data. The literaturestudy method is a method by analyzing and studying other references on the topics discussed to strengthenresearch data. The results of this study indicate that there is a large influence between authoritarianparenting and the character and mental development of children.Kata kunci : Authoritarian Parenting Style, Character, Children's Mental Development
